Reviews for Keenan Marina
Bizzare Marina, 2016-09-05
Captain: , San Diego (10)

This place seemed very unorganized. We called on the phone and got our slip because they don't monitor the radio. We were told there was a guy on the docks with a red shirt who might be around to help us tie up. He wasn't. The office was closed when we were finally tied up so could not check in, get bathroom codes or wifi code. The next morning a lady in a bathing suit came by and said hello and that she worked in the office which was closed today (Sunday) and she was going out for a boat ride and would be around in the office on Monday. The pool was nice and our dock neighbors were helpful and friendly. The website and active captain both say that Keenan Marina has laundry but when I asked they said they didn't. When we were ready to leave we stopped by the pump out dock to pump out before we headed out. We were told we needed a key and when I asked a couple of boaters to use theirs they looked at me funny and said we had to be members to use the pump out. When I explained we had stayed there for two nights they just looked at me funny. I tried calling the office several times and there was no answer. Another person on the dock told us that he called the lady in the office and she said we had checked out and to not let us use the pump out key. Knowing we had stayed there and just checked out we were beyond confused and completely in shock by the rudeness and over superiority complex these boaters had towards us. We went to the office to find out how to unlock the pump out and inquire why they would instruct the boaters to not give us the pump out key. We were given shrugs and dismissiveness. Finally the office girl Bonnie (who runs the place and who we met the day before) told us to find a guy on the dock and he would unlock it for us. We found him and he was very apologetic for the rude snobbish attitude of his boat neighbors and gave us his key. We pumped out and quickly got out of there. Besides the pool and a few nice locals there really is no reason to go this Marina. We were told because of this Bonnie lady lots of boaters were leaving and moving to different marinas and the entire place was a mess and poorly operated.

Friendly place, 2009-01-17
Captain: , Grand Haven, MI (15)

We have slipped here for 16 years. It's a friendly place with a pool, clubhouse, clean showers, and beautiful views from many of the slips. The marina is right on a great bike path which goes around Spring Lake and / or to downtown Grand Haven. Angie, the manager, is a peach who will do her best to accomodate.
