Reviews for Keefe Kaplan Maritime, Inc (KKMI)
5 Star experience, 2017-06-08
Captain: , Eagle Harbor, WA (471)

We recently had our Catalina 36 decommissioned for transport to Seattle. Bob's team was fast, efficient, helpful, and friendly. I wanted to complete as much of the work as possible to keep cost down, they even took the time to provide how to instruction. The onsite marine store saved driving offsite to hunt for items. There is a great Ace Hardware just a few blocks away as well as a West Marine. The office staff also took to me to answer all my questions and followed up on a Thursday timely professional manner.

Blue chip yard, 2014-02-19

Perform excellent if pricey work. One of the highest quality in the Bay area, but not inexpensive. Can be reasonable if you maintain close contact with yard supervisor and monitor work.

Having been to other boatyards ...KKMI is my choice, 2012-02-20
Captain: , San Fransisco Bay (88)

KKMI Richmond has won my loyalty. They stand behind their work 100% I have found them to be very fairly priced, due to the efficiency of their staff and the layout of the yard. Prices in the Chandlery are usually better than other boating retail shops.
I usually work closely with my project manager to ensure clear communication/expectaions. I have always left the yard feeling great about my experience there-KKMI Richmond is the only boatyard I have been to that I can say that about.

Great for DYI, 2010-01-26
Captain: , San Francisco (33)

I've had my boat there in 2009/10 for about 4 months while doing a full rig refit. This a great place to work. I get expert help when needed, and am allowed to do whatever I want otherwise. The service manager (Bob) is honest and straightforward. The rigger I've been consulting with (Jonathon sp?) has been a great help.

You get what you pay for, 2008-05-31
Captain: , San Rafael, CA (8)

This is the first and only boatyard I have ever enjoyed going to and working with. They have a heavy focus on customer service, efficiency, and actively talk about integrity, reputation, and doing right by the customer -- not just the project managers and shop foreman, but the workers you hear in the supply store looking out for the wellbeing of their clients. The rate sheet scared us, but with their expertise, customer service, commitment to fair play and upfront disclosure, this has been a truly remarkable boatyard. I'll recommend it for cheap daysailors to world class racers =--- the attention and quality you get is the same no matter what size job you are.

The Best, 2007-10-29

Not the cheapest but the best. You get what you pay for there. Great people wo go out of their way to help you. I never feel neglected there.

KKMI is my choice., 2007-02-03
Captain: , San Francisco Bay (110)

As a sailing school and club owner I highly recommend KKMI - I take all of my boats there for haulouts/painting and any repairs that my small maintenance staff cannot handle. They always do exceptional work.
