Reviews for Kake Tribal Fuel Company

Needed some fuel to run Rocky Passage and stopped here after a night at Red Bluff. Fuel dock isn't very big, but does the job. Price for diesel was $5.35 which was less than Canadian prices. Asked if we could stay tied up while we went shopping at the nearby store. Sure, no problem was the answer. Made things much easier getting things back to the boat. They have fresh water on the dock, but the hose is quite short so some imagination is needed to get water into the boat.
Weather was very nice, so we anchored in the bay just across from the local marina. We were next to the island that had several boat wrecks pulled up on the beach for our viewing pleasure. Nice photo ops. Only boat on anchor, but lots of room in the marina if that's your choice.

This is a very strategically located fuel facility, especially if you have limited range. Petersburg or Wrangell to your east, Sitka to your west, Hoonah to your north, and Craig to your south are the nearest fuel stops. Both diesel and gasoline were in plentiful supply during the summer of 2010.
