Reviews for Joy's Marina
No Joy at Joy's, 2017-01-02

Joys Marina has been sold to Hampton University. HE is not leasing slips. Slips are falling apart and maintenance is not being done. Do not recommend tying up.

Good Home Base for an Extended Stay In the Hampton Area, 2014-07-09
Captain: , Annapolis MD (258)

We have spent the better part of 7 summers as Joys marina. It has fixed docks with electric and water. On shore are a couple of restrooms and a shower. For extended stays, it's priced right.

The marina is very close to Hampton with its festivals, Virginia Air and Space Museum, Hampton History Museum, Hampton Univeristy Museum, and a longer walk to the Case Mate Museum at Fort Monroe. Two groceries are within a mile walk. Also, public transportation is readily available that will take you anywhere in the Hampton Roads area.

If you are looking for wet storage for you boat, this marina is worthy of consideration. There is a locked gate and several residents that keep an eye on things. The owner generally walks the docks at least twice a day.

not much to offer, 2014-05-06

The most expensive marina in Hampton with absolutely nothing to offer. Don't waste your money or your time @ Joy's Marina!!

Nice little marina, 2012-06-26

I bought a boat from this marina and it doesn't have all the bells and well, you know. But if you like Hampton this is a good location with downtown a walk or dinghy ride away. The docks are gated and locked.

Not a 5-star joint, but hey..., 2012-06-15

I think it depends on what you're looking for...

Has all the basic amenities except laundry. Laundromat about 1/2 mile down the road. The marina and slips are old and fixed, but I found it to be a welcomed oasis amidst greater Hampton. Very reasonable rates, particularly if you plan on staying for a month.

Stayed at Bluewater for a night which was a nice place, but spendy, particularly for smaller boats, as they have a 30ft minimum by night (so what?), but a 40ft minimum by month.

Joy's is a quaint little place with nice people and everything you need. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's still a decent place to keep your boat.
