Reviews for John Wayne Marina
beautiful, clean quiet, but, 2014-08-12
Captain: , everett, wa (355)

We found the active Captain phone number and website link were bad. I updated the phone to 360-417-3440 and the web page to From there it takes some clicking to locate it, but the previous link is dead.

There is noplace for supplies. I need ice and I'm told bag ice but not block is available at the RV park across the road. I'll update if this is in error. The John Wayne memorabilia is quite limited now. In years past there was a great visitor center there with mastadon teeth found locally and other things to look at. It's all gone now. the space is now a public meeting room.

The people are most helpful. Eberything is clean and we were even treated to someone playing a bagpipe in the adjacent park.

Clean and quiet, 2014-07-21

While the marina is clean and the views are beautiful, this marina is out of town, and it's a bit of arranging if you don't have a car (3.5 mile walk to grocery). Having said that, once you get up the hill, the walk is on the Olympic Trail and quite gorgeous. The marina grounds are well maintained, and the beach area is a nice walk. The only issue was the disappointing showers, very high pressure like a car wash and no private stalls.

One of My Favorite Fuel Stops, 2012-06-28

Consistently one of the better deals in terms of fuel pricing followed closely by the fuel dock in Port Angeles. No customs here though so if you are coming back from Canada it's Port Angeles of Port Townsend or Friday Harbor

John Wayne's gift to the community, 2011-03-21

This is my second most visited marina. It is clean, quiet, well maintained and the John Wayne memorabilia is interesting and informative. This marina is very well protected from the harsh weather of the straits. Unlike many of the marinas in smaller communities, John Wayne Marina has fuel available for the boater. Sequim is reasonably close by for shopping and if Indian Casinos are your thing, the 7 Cedars Indian Casino and Art Gallery are at the South end of Sequim Bay. Both the town of Sequim and Casino will take some kind of transpiration to visit unless you like long walks.

Surprised other reviews did not mention all the John Wayne memorabilia in the marina building. He willed this location to the enjoyment of boaters. His favorite cruising hangout was Roche Harbor, to and from his many Alaska summer cruises. His boats were large and of wood but no overly luxurious. This marina is nicely managed considering it's location.

A very well run and maintained marina. The restaurant is reasonable considering it is the best food in town! Nice boat ramp, showers and plenty of parking.

Pretty nice place, great location, 2010-10-22
Captain: , Kenmore, WA (948)

We spent a few nights there last summer.

The bad: The gift shop was out of business when we were there, and the restaurant is expensive. It's about 3 miles to town, and there are no stores any closer. They were spraying weed killer on the lawn, which kept us away from the green spaces.

The good: We liked the employees and the people we met on the docks. The griounds are beautiful - not a weed in sight ;-) We had our bikes, and rode to town, which was very pleasant. At night, the harbor seals splashed up on the dock next to the boat and the blue herons landed on the roof top. Protection Island was incredible, with eagles and Harbor Seals everywhere.

A beautiful marina, 2009-10-19

You must pay attention to all of the Navigation buoys and depths, etc, when entering Sequim Bay. This is a very clean marina. Stores are approx. 2 miles away. The marina has fuel, a small gift store and nice restaurant. Call ahead for dock space.
