If you had charter guests and you took them here, ussually that meant you were going to get a great tip. It was like visiting a far off land yet it was right around the corner. Lots of memories.

GREAT Protection From Wind & Waves. A Super Cool Place To See & Be Seen!, 2012-04-11

The Jimbo's as we all know it is now gone, :(... After over 50 years the city has taken the property back and closed up the coolest place on the water. Where the rich elite and celebrities mixed and mingled with the blue collar working man, just hanging out and talking about nothing.

This was Miami's primary Harley biker destination for Sunday riders. It was also the primary photography location for tons of photo and video shoots. It was never unusual to see naked women being photographed for a magazine only a few feet away from a couple getting their wedding photos taken, just a few feet away from a music video being shot. This place had it all! I will miss the full moon clothing-optional dock parties most of all!

The city will be opening in back up as a park, but in the meantime it's still a great little lagoon with protection from all sides from wind and waves.

Sadly, Jimbo's has closed!!!!!!!!!!, 2012-03-31

An fallen icon. This was definitely a cultural experience.

Must visit at least once, 2009-03-03

it's a fire hazard, health hazard, you name it... but it's a fun place one must visit at least once. Boaters mix with bikers and tourists. Watch for loose planks and nails sticking out off the dock...
Channel in unmarked so you must feel your way in, favor the stbd side coming in starting your approach fairly close to the beach.

Not for the yacht club crowd. :-), 2009-01-25

This is not a true marina. This is a slice of life. Pull into the lagoon and up pull into another world. A very funky world.
You never know who you'll meet or what you'll see. Film and TV crews, models in scimpy suits or just a bunch of folks hanging out, drinking beer, eating smoked fish, playing bocce ball and BS'in.

It's the best place in Miami to get away from Miami. Hell, once in the lagoon you can't even see Miami.

Jimbo's, it ain't for everybody.
