Reviews for Monarca's
Eat Mexican and Watch Over Your Boat (It doesn't get any better), 2015-04-01
Captain: , Callao, Virginia (45)

Discovered Monarca's for lunch on April 1, 2015. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. My wife had the taco salad and I had the enchiladas. Both were excellent. Great chips and salsa (I think the salsa was homemade) but ask for their hotter salsa if you like it spicy like we do. You have the choice of eating on the deck overlooking the dock or inside with AC. The interior is very nicely done. They have about 100 feet of "starboard to" dock space, so most boats can get in and tie up without issues. The waitress indicated that you can call ahead for food reservations and dock space, cool!

Stopped there on 2/6/2015 and loved it. Service and Mexican food were fast and tasty!

Disappointing. Great Potential Wasted, 2014-05-29
Captain: , Cape Coral (24)

Opening in Dec 2013 Monarca's Authentic Mexican Food, while beautifully decorated fails to deliver a quality dining experience and misses the "Authentic" mark by miles. My wife and I visited for dinner soon after they opened and was disappointed with the food, drink and service. The servers were friendly but did not know the menu or, for that matter, Mexican cuisine in general.

Second visit was May 5th, Cinco De Mayo, for a business lunch and was dissapointed further. What had been fresh grilled fish tacos was now frozen, breaded fish from a food broker. The friendly server stated that they had changed management multiple times in 5 months...it showed. The owner needs to get a proper chef and use freshly prepared food from fresh ingredients. Hey Look at some great Mexican cook books for your fundamentals!!

Don't bother, but if you do, the dock and only hold 2-3 vessels. Better to sail on down to Redfish point and The Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill
