Reviews for Jack's Marine
Basic moorings, 2016-07-23
Captain: , Charlottesville (265)

These moorings are about as basic as they come. No launch service; no shower. They%u2019re supposed to be the %u201Ccheap%u201D option, but we paid $60 on a Saturday for our 46-foot boat. They text you a map to the mooring, which is a great idea, but there are so many moorings that it%u2019s still a bit of a challenge to find yours. We were happy to have the mooring with heavy winds, but we%u2019ll probably anchor nearby next time.

Had a very pleasant two day stay in Dering harbor. Mike Anglin and his staff at Jack's Marine were exceedingly helpful.

Jack's is a great place to rent a mooring if you're not part of a yacht club or you don't want to pay the $65/night for the yacht club. Jack's does not offer a shower, but will allow you to use their head when the store (Jack's Marine) is open.

Cheap mooring??, 2013-08-03
Captain: , Houston (774)

Some friends talked us in to going here saying we could anchor in the harbour. No room to anchor so we called about moorings. The yacht club wanted $65/night plus you have to belong to a yacht club. Found a mooring from Jack's for $50. Felt like we got a great Deal. The folks at Jack's were very nice.

We had a blast!, 2013-07-11

We took a mooring at Jacks and stayed for four days waiting for a park. Mike was extremely helpful.
We had a good time watching the junior program at the yacht club. We rented bikes at Pacozzi's and had a great time touring the island.
We'll decently go back.

Spent two nights on a mooring. Very friendly folks. Ordered me some engine parts next day. Beautiful, well protected harbor. Tie up to fill the water tanks was available at their dinghy dock. A little pricey at 40+ bucks a night -off season- for a 30 foot boat. Only down side is no showers. I believe the competition (Piccozzi's) offers showers but not sure of the price.

Sag Harbor is wide open. Sailboats drawing more than 5.5 feet cannot get into Three Mile Harbor, so, unless you want to anchor, or pay for a slip, Deering Harbor is it for moorings in the area. Jack's doesn't have a shower to offer (the competition does), but is friendly (and does offer a head when the hardware store is open). Cute little downtown area.

Good Experience at Jack's, 2011-07-29

Convenient location to base a mooring and then explore Shelter Island or visit Greenport where there is an IGA. Agree that owner Mike is very helpful. Came up with some good rigging ideas for us. Cash or check only so be prepared (ATM across the street from Mike's hardward store). Fuel dock aadjacent . Can get fresh water at store's dock.

Moorings Plus, 2007-04-15
Captain: , New York (88)

Jack's Marine offers seasonal and transient moorings. They do running rigging splices and have a decent chandlerly and Ace Hardware supply and Moore Paints. They'll order anything for you and can have almost any part/spare in a few days. Mike Anglin (proprietor) is a very knowledgable friendly guy who knows boats. They DON'T sell fuel and have one finger dock for transients (small vessels, shallow draft). Parking is difficult here... come by boat!
