Reviews for Ixtapa Marina
Ixtapa August 2015, 2015-08-25
Captain: , Redondo Beach Ca (460)

Marina is well shelter with good docks and good power, No wifi from the marina, but lots of avialability at the local restaraunts, food is suprisingly good , security is good. we stayed here twice as we went back and forth to Zijhautenejo. My only complaint is the fuel dock adds 20 percent for some kind of usage fee, This seemed a bit much. Also the be careful in foul weather the entrance is a bit tight and you can get breaking waves coming into the channel. Overall very nice spot and very easy on clearance at marina office.

Check others before thinking Itapa for boat work, 2013-05-25
Captain: , Alameda Ca (332)

We had expecting to have our Hans Christian 43 bottom work completed in Itapa. We checked with the yard and found thier work prices in line with others throughout Mexico. Unfortunately the Marina runs the travel lift and takes a gouge from the boat owner to the tune of 10- 15% of the total work done. Add nearly $2000 for the lift and lay-days and we decided to have the work done North of here.

Neglected and ignored, 2013-03-07
Captain: , Seattle (402)

What has happened to Ixtapa? Easy to blame on the economy but this is like nothing we've seen elsewhere. Ten years ago we were here and the town and marina was thriving - full of people having a great time. Lots of places to grab some food. Now most food places are closed and empty, streets are empty and the marina is neglected, badly in need of repair. We were in and out after a survey of the town, etc.

Nice well sheltered marina, 2013-02-24
Captain: , London (639)

The marina is old and showing signs of neglect (Piles have rust holes right through them and woodwork on side of slips is falling off. That said this is a very sheltered marina with good security and a good position. At $1.50 a ft for transients plus tax plus water and plus electric on a Nordhavn 62 its a little pricey. There is a great bike trail thtstarts at the marina and goes to Playa Linda. After Km 4 it goes off into the jungle/swamp and ther are lots of crocadiles, Tortoise, Turtles and a huge amount of birds including bright pink spoonbills. This is the best bike trail we have been on, we have bikes aboard but they can also be hired form here.

Pleasant, large, clean, excellent security, 2011-06-08
Captain: , San Francisco (409)

The marina is fairly new and modern. There is no WiFi provided by marina but it might be obtained for a fee from local businesses. The bus stop to the town and Zihuatanejo is conveniently next to te marina.
Warning: Due to dredging operations the entrance to the marina was closed (April 2011) and open twice a day for an hour
There are crocodiles in the water, so bottom cleaning is not advisable.
