Reviews for Islands Marine Center
good place to stay, 2016-05-31

We visited in a C-Dory 22 and found ourselves welcome. We paid the minimum fee for overnight, $24 plus 3 for electricty but that included wifi. Another boat went next door and paid their minimum of $50 and were not happy camper. Islands does not have a resturant so we walked up (south) to the competer marina who does have a resturant and got great halibut and chips for under $20 which included a fixted tip. A great combination in our opinion. Docks seemed ok, and we were happy except for a stiff south wind which blew into our assigned slips and made them a bit bumpy. Most times wind would not be bothersome. Town is a short walk but my bad foot kept me boat-bound. Showers & restrooms good, but not outstanding. We enjoyed the store/ office workers, no sour grapes on our shift.

We spent three nights here during the Fourth of July weekend. The marina was full but didn't feel crowded. The docks were in good shape and someone met us as we arrived to handle lines. The bathrooms were clean and the showers inexpensive at only $0.25 per minute with no minimum (by comparison, the showers next door at Lopez Islander Resort are $2 to even start). Use the shower located between the restrooms for greater privacy. My only two complaints about the place were (1) the staff at the desk could work on their friendliness skills, one staff in particular did not seem like she liked people, and (2) the wi-fi reception was spotty on the docks. But the wi-fi was free, so I can't complain too much about that! All-in-all, I'd have no problem staying here again. And if you're here for the Fourth of July, the parade passes right in front of the marina.

8-6-2013 Spent two nights here. Paid $1.00/ft plus a small fee for electricity. Staff here is helpfull and parts department has most items needed for most maintenance chores.
Docks are showing age. I was warned about poor power but had no problems while we were there. Bathrooms are across main road from docks around side of office and boat repair center.
Bathroom facilities were clean but small and open to general public. Too little privacy for my wife's comfort.

While the IMC is a great facility if you are looking for a marina well stocked with parts and supplies, it is also a great place to stay to explore the west side of the island. Rent a bike from the bike rental shop at the end of the dock and visit the Village of Lopez. You'll find some great restaurants and the bakery is excellent.

This marina was $10 cheaper than the one to the south. Docks were solid, but could get tight if crowded. Bathrooms were a long walk and reminded me of a gas station. The marine store is excellent.

Solid guest docks, though you are on in an 80' slip so it can be an issue if you need to leave early and are blocked in. 15 min or so walk to town. Office is across the street, so it's a little odd if you want to use the showers--we didn't check it out.

Islands Marine Center is one of the few places I will have work on my boat. They have a full repair shop for both gas and diesel and a well stocked marine store. Travelift for haulouts, shallow water at low tide.
