Reviews for Humbug Marina
Overall review, 2016-07-19
Captain: , Edison Boat Club Marina (450)

Am purchasing a new boat and was unfamiliar with the Cummins QSM-11 635HP engines. Mechanic was very open and friendly and took the time to answer my questions over the phone without being a current customer. Also, did a follow up stop by to see the marina and was able to take a tour of the slips even though they were closed. They are definitely on my short list for a home slip.

Many of the docks are in bad shape as is the water depth in & around the marina. The indoor storage seems nice as does the staff, but the marina itseld is in poor condition & needs a major redo.

Interesting to say the least, 2015-08-04
Captain: , Meinke Marina (20)

pulled in with 5'3"draft and the people at pump had no idea of depth. told me what dock to go to and still no idea of depth. made it into the slip, line put out and docked when a guy in a dinghy told us that they just poured concrete and we might want to change locations. We stayed and waited for concrete to dry. We walked to the filll station to pay for the nights slip and what a walk. We stopped and got pizza. But its always an adventure and the people are nice. Cost $10 dollars to get a bathroom key which is a little crazy, so no key for us.

Down to Earth, 2014-03-19
Captain: , Humbug Marina, gibraltar, mi (267)

Not a really well maintained but the staff is pleasant to deal with, and location is beautiful. Offers winter liveaboard accombinations as well. Will be here for the winter season

Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

Tongue in cheek over shallow approach with few markers.
Ran aground in turning basin.
Had to have boat us bring me fuel and tow me off.
Only drawing five foot draft

diesel available, 2012-02-19
Captain: , Racine WI (550)

Use the dock to the south side for diesel - free pumpouts with reasonable purchase - usually pleasant part timers - very few ammenities at dock store but if not a busy day you can tie up and walk to store for food and beer - stay away far from shore as you leave (rocks)

Winter Storage, 2011-11-10
Captain: , LaSalle MI (585)

Storing inside here this winter. The staff was very competent at haul out and equipmrnt is a little old but in good condition. Came in a few weeks early and all were very accomodating. They allow work to be done by owner during storage. Very pleased so far.

Terrible Marina, 2008-12-14
Captain: , Port Washington, WI (30)

We were caught on Lake Erie as a thunderstorm approached and the Coast Guard issued a small craft warning. I called this marina to request shelter. We were refused assistance and when I asked for a nearby marina that might help us, we were told they had no idea where we might go. (We ended up retreating 20 miles to the well run and helpful Leamington, ON municipal marina). We would NEVER recommend a marina with so little concern for boating safety.
