Reviews for Hudson River Yacht Club
real spirit of boating ... "ITS WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO", 2015-08-16
Captain: , staten island (511)

Fuel issue forced us to detour into rockaway inlet as we had lost 1 engine and once inside the inlet lost the other <tide was roaring ,call went out for sea tow , our FDNY came up when they heard my location ,they escorted us in then when 2nd engine quit they tied to us and held us steady till sea tow arrived... capt Jack and his crew took over and brought us to Hudson River yacht club where the whole club came out to help us tie up ,no ez feat as we are a 50' hatteras,not only did club members help with tie up as we fueled everyone introduced themselves admired my boat and gave advice about how to prime my engines , as i worked to get operational many club members came to lend a hand advice or just check our progress, as the night went on i couldnt get engines primed a club member named Tom came and in his nice clean clothes informed me he was a deisel mechanic and was there to help he climbed into my engine room and got them goin for me . Then the club members offered me a stay on their t-head for the night to wait out the tide ,theres a low bridge , as we moved many members came and tied us up ,when my wife said thanks a member said 'ITS WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO"; and";THATS WHAT BOATING IS ABOUT";
All i can say is wow ,a bad experience ,and some great people turned it into an eye opening day ... props to FDNY...SEATOW ,CAPT JACK;crew....And most of all HUDSON RIVER YACHT CLUB
