Reviews for Hotel Coral and Marina
Very Nice Marina with great facilities, 2017-06-07
Captain: , San Diego (30)

We vistied the Marina briefly in April and will be returning in July for a longer stay. Staff was very helpful and we loved all the facilities. Great breakfast buffet, also a little outside restaraunt, only pump out in area, fuel dock, and filtered water available. For those would like an aerial view of the Marina I took a drone video

We are returning in July for some work at Baja Naval and a longer term stay at Corel Marina. Will update this review or add a more detailed information later. Including more on the surge.

Moving boat from San Diego to Corel - a new experience. Rated 4 star as I do not have enough experience here to list as 5 star yet.

I would say this is the best option in Ensenada, 2016-01-26
Captain: , Boise (20)

Our stay here has been pretty good (6 weeks so far). The docks are in pretty decent shape but could use some maintenance, nothing bad, although I've needed to make some minor repairs to protect my boat. The dock crew does a great job of making sure everything is safe with regular walk abouts and will adjust lines as needed. Great 24/7 security. Great service for garbage removal and docking assistance. Check-ins with customs are super easy. They need more divers for bottom cleans. Marina office staff could be more attentive to customer service, 'no' seems to be the answer to a lot of questions. Marina Grill is awesome with great staff and mediocre food.

All in all, great place with resort and some staff.

Good marina with excellent staff, 2015-09-05
Captain: , Tucson, AZ (60)

We stayed for 3 nights in 8/15. Docks are in good condition and security is good. Note that some slips don't have a pedestal. They will let you connect to another one, but a 50' cord won't be long enough. The showers are very nice, but a bit of a walk if you are in higher lettered docks- located by office. All staff speak excellent English and are very helpful. They will handle checking in and out for you. The Marina Grill has decent food and drink at typical resort prices, though a bit cheaper than the main hotel restaurant. There is a Soriana across the highway, but not much else nearby. Taxi is $5-10US to downtown.

2015 Review, 2015-02-11
Captain: , Long Beach (21)

I have used this marina as a primary port for over a year and know all the staff. Here what I think:
1) staff and they will take care of your boat. When it comes to paperwork and legal what they say but verify.
2) all the vendors services are available for a price. Again, confirm and verify everything.
3) No real current to deal with but there is a surge. You never know when the surge will be present so tie your boat up well.
4) When boats arrive, the staff has ALWAYS been waiting for me at the dock to help me with my lines.....ALWAYS!
5) wifi will be slow and painful if you don't use a booster
6) water should be filtered
7) good electricity
8) can get real windy
9) pet friendly
10) very safe. Over the years there where some theft issues but that was before my time.
11) if you have issues outside of the marina, the staff will assist as best they can.
12) marina is very clean
13) on foot, it's a hike to get to town. but tried it at least once. for the most part you take a path and side-walk.
14) a good market, vet, subway and coffee shop is ascross the street.
15) propane up the street
16) fuel is WAY cheaper in San Diego
17) marine supplies.....way cheaper in San Diego
18) over-all safety....NEVER HAD A PROBLEM....but I'm no stupid turist fit in and respect their country.
19) compared to other marina's in the area......this is the best BY FAR.

Excellent marina, 2013-05-09
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

First class marina, clean, quiet, including all the services needed. Staff is excellent, friendly, and nearly all speak english. They offer a very worthwhile service to complete all the customs, immigration, and import paperwork for checking into and out of Mexico. Stayed for 5 nights in October 2012 and 4 nights in May 2013. Town of Ensenada has much to offer and is a great stop going north or south.

Great marina, hotel and prices, 2011-11-25
Captain: , San Diego (302)

We're in our 2nd month of a 12 month stay at Marina Coral. The staff is the best, always looking out for your boat. The marina facilities are very nice and access to the hotel is included. Our son loves the pools (3) and the jacuzzi's (3). The restaurant is excellent and the Sunday brunch our favorite.

Ensenads Marina Coral, 2011-08-19
Captain: , Seattle, Washington (285)

Good facility and great staff. Cheapest fuel anywhere on the Pacific side of Mexico (with an overnight stay). Marina staff went to great lengths to help with Mexican exit formalities at no additional charge. Hotel facilities are very good and available to marina guests.

Great experience, 2011-07-27
Captain: , san pedro, ca (10)

Staff very helpful, secure facility, I didn't notice that big surge mentioned but ocean was flat.

Nice marina, friendly staff, 2011-04-03
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We stayed for 2 days when we where headed S. Staff was quite friendly and helpful. Fuel was about 1/2 of the price of San Diego. My biggest complaint was that they put us (and most of the other sailboats) on F dock, which is only 35' long and we're a 40' boat and there were plenty of other longer slips available.

Generally we take care of clearing into countries on our own, but they offered a for fee service where they take care of most of it for you. Well, this ended up being money well spent. They took all of us to immigrations and the port captain's office, which is in same building, and handled all of the transactions. It took several hours to process everyone, but while we were waiting they told us where to go for products. They even drove us to a grocery store, translated while we got a cell phone, and took us to a Napa store. We got all of the refrigerant gasses we needed in case there are any issues (if we have it we won't have any issues, but if we didn't you can only guess what would happen!)

The restaurant is quite good.

Strong curents, but nice amenities, 2011-02-02
Captain: , San Pedro, CA (290)

It's a long walk to town and the currents are strong. The boat moved around alot. Small entrace to protected harbor. Only place for fuel. The Hotel is nice

Catamaran Double charge, 2010-11-16
Captain: , Vancouver (80)

Marina 3/4 empty and still found the courage to charge us double for a catamaran. To top it we came in because of a storm. The marina is on the top of this not that great

Excellent Facility, 2010-06-26
Captain: , annapolis (183)

Excellent marina and facilities, including fuel. Very accommodating English-speaking staff. Approach can be difficult to see from the water, even with binocs. Follow the local guidebooks. Large boats should watch depths. I saw a large Nordhavn ground in the harbor.

Convenient fuel, 2009-07-01
Captain: , Ventura (60)

We took advantage of much lower fuel prices when heading south compared to SoCal. A very comfortable facility, good hotel and restaurant.

Marina Hotel, 2009-06-20
Captain: , London (709)

access to all hotel facilities ie Pools, Gym, sauna, steam room etc. Marina run by 'Pheto' and many knowledgable staff. Good clean cheap diesel and card entry to slips. Beware the surge, need to adjust ropes continualy.

Ensenada 91 day club, 2008-01-20
Captain: , Long Beach, CA. (1)

Excellent marina and hotel. Used by many Californians as home port for 91 days for Sales Tax compliance. Chandlery, Internet WiFi office, Fuel dock with very reasonable prices. Very knowledgable staff. Gated gangways with card entry. As a slip holder, you can use all of the hotel's facilities and have hotel charges billed to your slip..One drawback is the large surge which requires daily monitoring of docklines.
