Reviews for Horn Point Harbor Marina
Great on-site management, but..., 2017-06-04
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (420)

We recently spent a week at HPHM. The marina, like 99% of all Annapolis marinas have fixed docks, which makes it difficult for us with a 70 lb. dog who doesn't jump. With that in mind, Dominic, the manager was terrific in getting us settled into the marina. He put us on the outside bulkhead, which turned out to be one of the top 5 roughest spots we've been in since leaving Seattle in April, 2014. It's not too bad, except for boat wakes, unless the wind is from the NE or E, then you'd better batten down everything because it's going to be a very rough ride. We wound up with six fenders down plus 5 24" ball fenders we normally only use for locking... even then I felt like the boat was being hammered.
The walk to Annapolis and Eastport restaurants is easy and there looks to be a shuttle available, but we didn't use it. HPM is a nice Annapolis alternative when the weather is OK and the wind is from another direction than East.

Very accommodating, 2014-10-30

Friendly helpful and accommodating, the marina does not have any services but is very clean including the bath houses and the boaters that stay at they were helpful and told up were to eat and where we could get provision and anything else we need.

Great Location, Great Views, 2014-10-20
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (251)

This is an interesting marina, the office is about 4 blocks away. Michelle emailed us the bathroom codes and the password for Annapolis WIFI. You can get ice next door at the Fish Market ten pounds for $2.00, they also have great food at a resonable price. However they are now on fall hours which means they are open weekends only. The bathrooms are very clean, but there are only 2, so stand in line. Price during the boat shows was ok for a month stay.

Nice location, 2013-06-23

We made reservations via telephone about a week prior to arrival. Arrived on a Saturday morning to find that the marina office is closed on weekends??? In Annapolis??? Getting in and out during an E or NE blow may be tricky depending upon your slip assignment. We were in # 120. Initially were taken aback as there was no one other than marina residents to show us where the facilities were located and provide lock codes to use for entry to the showers and heads etc.

Good location, good views, decent prices, 2012-05-26
Captain: , Londontowne, MD (470)

The manager (Tim Wilson) is very friendly and helpful. The actual price for our two nights (5/24 and 5/25, i.e., before the Memorial Day weekend) was $2/ft plus electric, even better than their website suggested we should expect. The docks are sturdy, with relatively new synthetic surface "lumber" on many and on the finger piers. The main breakwater pier is about 12' wide with good wood surface. Manuevering to/from inside slips -- IOW, both arriving and leaving -- could be a challenge, especially if it were to be a windy day. We were berthed in slip 210 (see their website diagram), weather was benign, and entering/leaving in calm weather was fine. The marina is open to fetch from across the Severn and the Bay, so we could imagine it being pretty blowy in windy circumstances... but the breakwater kept us from bouncing around in the slip. Slip holders we spoke with were friendly. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and we even walked across Eastport to mainland Annapolis -- although that turned out to be too much in the heat; land taxi or water taxi would have been better. We didn't use the onsite restrooms/showers, so can't assess. Not much in the way of other amenities onsite. Carry out from the Wild Country Seafood place just next door was good -- and a treat, since we could relax onboard during our gnosh.

Unique Ambiance, 2011-11-06

This location has a unique ambiance. I never tired of view. Eastport is an old historic section of Annapolis. The new management is open to suggestion and is actively making things better. The residents were friendly and helpful.

Nice place, 2011-08-17
Captain: , Annapolis (795)

Have been here several times. There are livaboards here, which to me is a good thing. Bath facilites are adequate. There is little to complain about - everything is good; but there is nothing great about the place and it has a dumpy atmosphere.

Great Marina!, 2011-06-01
Captain: , Baltimore (317)

We are staying here for the 2011 season. The people at the marina are very friendly and helpful. The view of the Chesapeake is great and the setting is very peaceful. It seems like there is only a few slips that are used for transient boats most of the time. Docking is a little tight but usually there is someone there to help out. The marina has two bathroom/shower rooms and there is free cable. Wifi either needs to be accessed through Annapolis Wifi or possibly through comcast if you stay for the season. The walk to downtown is about 15 minutes but there are a few restaurants/bars that are closer.

Pump out boat usually comes around 1pm. Hail them on 17 before noon (as they typically are on lunch from 1-2.. The cost is $5 and works very well.

Friendliest Marina in Annapolis, 2011-01-11
Captain: , Annapolis (21)

Terrific dockmaster and knowledgable liveaboads provide friendly atmosphere with easy acess to heart of Eastport and wealth of marine services. Best view in all of Annapolis with cool breeze and good protection.

Captain: , Stafford, VA (1079)

Advance reservations are a must given the small size of this marina. If you get in though, expect a very friendly and helpful dockmaster, excellent showers, and an invitation to the Sat. night barbecue. The Annapolis water taxi will pick you up at the dock, or it's a short bike ride to town.
