Reviews for Holyhead Marina
Holyhead Marina, 2016-02-23
Captain: , Conwy, N. Wales (13848)

The marina is located in a pleasant corner of the Holyhead commercial port. Access is easy at all states of tide and wind directions, though care must be taken to avoid shipping in and around the entrance.

Jane at the marina was lovely and very helpful, though it seemed that she runs the whole place on her own on a Sunday! Everyone we met in the marina were also very friendly and sociable, and were ready to help with lines as we came alongside. The facilities are excellent, with 'en suite' private lockable shower rooms / toilets available, which are very clean and well maintained.

One thing to bear in mind is that the normal visitor's berths are on the outside of the outer marina pontoon, so when there is wind from the North East, a significant slop can cause the boat to bounce against the pontoon. This could potentially cause damage over an extended stay, but there are usually plenty of spaces in the main marina and the staff will ensure you are berthed there if there is any chance of wind from the wrong direction.

Really nice marina, staff are very friendly, and the facilities are very good, cheaper than Pwhelli Marina, and no tidal restrictions.

If you cant find this marina you need glasses.
It can be an eventfull trip on the Irish sea.
Keep a look out for ferries and the Sea Cat
