Reviews for Holiday on Lake Lanier
I had my boat there for several months and here's what I thought., 2013-02-20
Captain: , Jacksonville Florida (417)

I own a sailboat and was initially on a dock with only houseboats. Great bunch of people! They know they're not highly accomplished boaters and that it's pretty much bumper-boats because they're floating bricks, but, hey, they're out there on the water and they have a great time. Once I moved to the sailboat dock, life couldn't be any better. There was nothing behind me because it got shallow and it made for a small cove. I went sailing about twice a week. The facilities were always clean and working, and they kept everything is good working order. It was nice having the resturants there and close by, the summer marina party was always fun. Like most marinas, you gotta watch out for people putting wax rags into the washing machines, their laundry area needed a LOT of work. And, yea, most of the people at this marina aren't very knowledged about the marine arena, nor boats, so they do things that are not too considerate. The other hassle was putting up with traffic during xmas when everyone's lined up to see the lights. Some of the docks needed work, no wireless nor phone when I was there in 06.

Quality people, Great facility, 2011-02-19

Yes they party, but I've found it tones way down after 10pm. Plus they WILL address any complaints if you take the time to give security a call. They cater to high end houseboaters and people who appreciate a nice atmosphere. Carla in the front office is by far the nicest marina employee I've encountered at any marina! They employ a sheriff's deputy on summer wekends who patrols the marina and enforces the 'Idle Speed' rule. Very happy with my experience there!

Love/Hate relationship, 2008-09-15

Every amenity you'd want. Great on-site restaurant, good repair facilities, etc. Just down the road from more restaurants, shopping, boat supplies... Easy access to the lake, deep water.

But it also has a well-deserved reputation as the party marina. It gets loud. Way too many slipholders with no understanding of marina courtesy. And a concentration of people proving that we really need boating licenses (Rules of the road? Never heard of them...)

Very Large and Active Marina, 2007-02-23

One of the Largest Floating Marinas in the world. Very well kept up with top notch repair yard on site.
