Reviews for Holiday Inn Harbourside Marina
Only giving a tw0 star because of its great location., 2016-09-13
Captain: , Joplin, MO (90)

We stayed a couple of months at Holiday Inn Harbourside in Indian Rocks Beach. This is a synopsis of our stay.
We made arrangements to stay here on our 42%u2019 Trawler through the Dockmaster in person about a month or so before. We arrived there on a Tuesday in June. Evidently the Dockmaster only works Thursdays through Sundays. So no one was there to help us into our slip or to give us any guidance. The slip we were assigned was not nearly the size for our boat. We could make it into the slip but whether we sterned in or bowed in we couldn%u2019t get off the boat because of the short finger piers. In fact we ended up bowing in and then deploying the dinghy so we could get over to the dock to tie up! Still without any assistance. We really had no choice but to stay there the night. Then the tide went out and we were sitting on the bottom. We only draft 3.5 feet.
The next day we called the Dockmaster to find out if there were any other slips available with longer piers and more water. He told us of a couple we could use. We checked them out and picked out one that we thought would work. Now we at least had a little assistance from some of the boaters on the dock. We made it in and tied up feeling this would be okay. Again at low tide our running gear was sitting on the bottom!
We were then told by the Dockmaster that we could us our engines to blow out some of the sentiment to give us more water. We did that and it seemed to better. That%u2019s the first time we%u2019ve ever had to dredge out our own slip! Still at this point we had not seen the Dockmaster. Finally on Thursday he shows us and berates us for %u201Cdredging too much%u201D!! How were we to know! And we still had to tie up farther out so we would not be on the bottom.
A few days later we left the boat and went back to Missouri to see our family. We were gone about three weeks and all was well. Upon our return we told the Dockmaster that we would be leaving in a couple of days depending on the weather. This would take us past the first of the month by only three or four days (we were paid up to the first). He said no problem. Then came the weather, buckets of rain and wind. Long story short, well maybe not so short, I told the Dockmaster that we were leaving tomorrow, on the 12th. I then find out that he has billed us on our credit card on the 5th for the full amount for August. Yes, he knew we were leaving as soon as we had a weather window. He would not credit us back and prorate for the 12 days. His statement is that he cannot prorate. Funny that he prorated the ten days in June when we arrived on the 20th. So we made the most of it and stayed till the end of August. Well, we left early %u2013 on August 27 to beat the weather that was coming in.
Maybe we've been lucky but in the 5+ years we've been on NautiNell we've never had this happen. Just wanted to share.

Fun Weekend Getaway, 2016-07-19

Enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Harborside. The marina is clean and the infrastructure is well maintained. The amenities include a swimming pool, clean heads with two showers, and good Wi-Fi. The beach, restaurants and a variety of shops are located just a few blocks away, including a CVS drug store. There are also several parks and a museum of local history nearby.

A great stopover for off the water enjoyment, 2014-08-10

If you are lucky enough to get a slip here on the weekend it is well worth the stop. There is a tiki bar right next to the pool and they are in the process of building a huge water slide that I'm sure will be a hit for both kids and adults alike.

We have stayed here at least once a year for the past three yearsduring our travels and it never disappoints.

Nice docks for overnighters , friendly staff, walking distance to some great food (Crabby Bills ). The hotel dinning is above average The Hotel rooms are clean and nice. Some times it can be hard to Dock with crosswinds comming down intercoastal after 4pm unless You have bow thrusters or twins ( I dont)

Very nice marina, 2014-04-22

We had visited 2 yrs. ago and were disappointed. Returned in March and found the marina much improved. Nice docks, close to CVS, restaurants, shopping etc all in walking distance. Music on weekends.

We enjoyed it, 2012-07-27
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (195)

Stayed here 1 night in April 2012, nice dock, great pools, restaurants, shopping; short walk to beach and more restaurants; CVS and post office nearby; Dockmaster somewhat hard to reach by phone or VHF but very helpful and nice when we did; no complaints; protected because it is at a narrow part of the ICW so little fetch

When you need a respite from the boat, 2012-04-19
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (322)

After a somewhat grueling couple of days aboard it was time for a "dry" bed and a break from boat life. It had been a LONG 5 days on the boat and even I was looking forward to a little room service. The room/food was a little more than we'd usually spend on an overnite stay but it was nice. We did request to be on the side tie dock and it was pretty shallow and we did have to dock ourselves, but we are used to that so no biggie but if you are used to dock hands helping you to your berth, we saw no signs of that happening.

Holiday Inn Harbourside Marina - Plan ahead, 2011-07-19
Captain: , Pensacola (460)

Note that if you want to visit this marina, you should plan ahead - they are only open Thursday through Sunday, 9-5. Although you can likely make advance arrangements, it is not conducive to transient cruisers. We called first thing in the morning on a Tuesday but were unable to reach anyone to determine availability for that evening.

Nice stop on the ICW with beach Access, 2011-05-15

We stayed here for the month and really enjoyed it. Close to beach, many restaurants, CVS, and Publix about a mile away. Great place to do an offshore carter with several great captains! Nice docks and two pools, Live music most nights. Very family friendly and reasonable rates.

This place sucks, 2007-12-27
Captain: , Fort Myers Fl. (12)

Upon arrival, after they took our money in advance by credit card, they told us to dock our own damn boat. So far, 4 hours later, we haven't seen the first person from the marina, but the people in the Holiday Inn made us beg to get internet access which was advertised in the Waterway Guide. Showers and toilets may be here, but we ha ven't been told how to access them. So far if I could give it negative stars, I would. Would that be a moon?
