Reviews for Hingham Shipyard Marinas
Lost Reservation, 2016-10-27
Captain: , Boston (10)

We have stayed at HSM several times and the facilities are very nice and clean, unfortunately we did not get to take advantage of the amenities this time since our reservation had been lost and the weekend crew did not have an access key for us and we were stuck on the Working Dock. Not sure if that was a Dockwa or HSM F-Up.

Good experience no issues

comfortable and convienent to stuff, 2013-09-13
Captain: , South Portland, Maine (847)

As a marina, this is the best place for convienient support services we have found. A full service marina, next to a shopping Center with Panera Bread, Bed Bath and Beyond, Regal Cinemas, Fresh Market, EMS, and lots more; several really tasty restaurants, including a Wahl Burger, Union Fish Hingham Beer Works and several others.

The staff is professional to a fault. Vinny rlly was helpful with local orientaion. Only drawback is the closest Starbucks is a mile away, however Fresh Market provides free, though very small, cups of coffee.

We will make this a regular stop on our way south or north, Its 12 miles(S) from Boston's Constitution Marina, also a great stop.

Beautiful Marina, 2013-07-18
Captain: , Deep River, CT (250)

Stopped at Hingham Shipyard Marina for two nights. We were pleasantly greeted by excellent dockhands, treated like valuable clients during our stay. The marina is beautifully landscaped and all the facilities are maintained to top shelf standards. The attached shopping, movie theater, and grocery store are an added treat. We will go out of our way to visit here whenever we are in the area

Wonderful marina, 2013-07-13
Captain: , Wickford, RI (1007)

This used to be Hewitts Cove Marina, but has been under new ownership and management.
We have stayed here three weeks 2 years ago and are here again for a few weeks now.
In all our travels and staying at marinas, I have never met a friendlier, nicer, more accommodating office manager as Cheri here at Hingham Marina.
Besides the friendly staff, we love the location, all of the options for restaurants, stores, gym, miniature golf for the kids, a bocce court, etc.
We look forward to coming here each time.

Marina and a Mall, 2013-06-19
Captain: , Freeland, WA (60)

Hingham Shipyard Marinas is a full service marina with all the amenities and good docks. The setting - basically in a mall - provides chain store shopping and restaurants. It was certainly convenient, but we like more local color when we travel. Of interest for us was the fishing pier where lobstermen sell fresh lobster right off the boat, the nearby ferry to Boston and the parks within walking distance - Stodder's Neck and Weymouth Back River Reservation.

General information on Hingham Shipyard Marina, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Hingham, MA (1079)

Nice marina with two grocery stores in walking distance. The Launch at Hingham Shipyard (adjacent to the marina) includes several restaurants, a cinema, and stores/boutique shops. Three marine supply stores and Lowes are within walking distance.
Ferry access to Boston and the Boston Harbor Islands (in season).
Landfall Marine (or "L" dock) is part of Hingham Shipyard Marina.
Landfall Marine boat ramp is only accessible during near or high tide; this is complete mud otherwise.

Trailer Sailor, 2012-07-31
Captain: , Smith Mountain Lake, VA (266)

The marina facilities are excellent with floating concrete docks and beautiful bathrooms. It is a good location for day sailing the Boston Harbor Islands area. The friendly, helpful staff suggested we launch at the Back River Public Ramp which is an excellent facility just a few minutes (motoring) from the marina.

Terrible Yard, 2012-02-22
Captain: , Salem MA (177)

I kept my boat here one winter. This is a terrible yard. They dont pull on schedule. They dont launch on schedule. They launch but dont tell you you are in.

They use subcontractors for work that are careless and unreliable. My topsides suffered significant damage from the shrinkwrap crew. After threats and lawyers, Hewitts paid a minimum amount.

I asked around and found many locals who had similar stories...a club member waiting un-expected weeks to be haul had a cleat oulled out of a dock (not through bolted) and they ended up with a hole in the topsides. Hewitts only wanted to patrch the hole and would not paint the boat...after threats and lawyers, Hewitts paid to paint one side...

My advice...find an alternative!

Disappointed with winter haul/ storage, 2011-10-30
Captain: , Boston (621)

Kept my sailboat here for one winter. Haul was over a week late, they charge you if you want to bring in your own mechanics, they charge you if they have to remove any parts on your boat to fit their lift, and the kicker was when their launch delay resulted in a new launch date that coincided with a date that I was scheduled to be out of town, they tried to charge me a daily slip fee until I got back. Needless to say, I've gone elsewhere this year. Upside was my wife liked the Talbots on the property and there's a good dog park down the street.

My Home Marina, 2011-06-27
Captain: , Weymouth, MA (10)

Nice place. Movies, Restaurants, Groceries, Hardware and boat supplies and a dog park (Stoddards Neck) all close by. Commuter boat to Boston.

Full Service Marina, 2011-02-22
Captain: , hingham (161)

Marina has several restaurants (pizza, thai, beer works, high end italian) and shops. Also has a high end market on site and a full supermarket across the street. Marina staff is good. Bathrooms are clean and new. This is our home marina.

Very Nice, 2008-10-02
Captain: , Mashpee, MA (2)

Kept our boat here (on a mooring) this summer. Very nice. Easy access to Boston and plenty of islands to hike. New marina office with new restrooms. Staff is very helpful and very nice. Grocery store across street, Lowe's not far away.
