Reviews for Hessel/Clark Twp. Marina
Cute little town, 2017-03-24

This is a good stop if you are tired of anchoring. Not as much going on as Cedarville which is nearby, but there was a nice restaurant last time I stopped but as I recall, the best option for groceries is Cedarville.

This is the location of the antique boat show near the end of summer and there are some amazing old boats in the area. This is also the home of Mertaugh Boar Woris which was one of the original Chris Craft dealers from way back in the day when some famous and rich families summered in the islands and needed the boats to get to and from the estates.

Quaint, slow lane living, 2016-09-01

Nice marina, floaters, good power, all the amenities are a little older but in nice shape. Locals seem to forget to slow down when entering harbor, folks are friendly, island bar has good food(perch is great). Culinary school seems a bit over rated.

Nice little marina, probably a trip back in time as one dock doesnt have power. Staff offers to run extension cords, but for one night we didnt think it was nessisary. OK bathroom facilities, could use an upgrade. Pumpout consists of a honeywagon they roll out to the sidewall. Still wouldnt avoid a visit as the staff does all they can to help.

As good as it gets, 2014-09-13

Wow, just to hear the dock mistress, Gail, on the VHS is a treat. Upon our call she quickly directed us to a choice of two docks to accommodate our forty-four foot sailboat.
This is a small town, but full of history, BOATS old boats are all around, classic wooden runabouts, Chris Crafts, Century, Garwoods' and other sweet crafts still looking very very fine.
We road out a thirty five knot eight hour blow here and all was well.

Beautiful Hessel Marina, 2014-08-14
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (355)

A perfect small marina with absolutley the most accomodating and cheerful staff we've ever met. We came in for a couple of days and stayed three weeks. Gail and her crew made it extremely hard to leave Hessel in our wake. Don't miss it; we will be back.

Quiet place, 2014-08-07

Not much here. Good docks & friendly staff. Small general store close by. Fun to watch all the antique wooden boats. Town of Cedar has more restaurants & museums

Older facility great service, 2011-07-06
Captain: , Big Torch Key, FL (1956)

The marina and facilities are a little long in the tooth, but the harbormaster Gail is outstanding and takes care of the place like her own. The grounds and facilites are spotless. Each two docks share two 30 amp plugs. If the marina is not full you might be able to get two cords.

Very good marina with quality staff. The public marina is on the west side. On the east side is a private marina, Murtaughs. Murtaughs has very good mechanics if you have a problem. The many boats coming in and out of marina can some times cause excessive wakes.

Hessel City Marina, 2010-07-11
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Nice little resort town.
Nothing horrible and it settles down at night, but small boats stay on plane right up to the entrance and surge from thier wakes gets into the harbor a bit.

Hessel Muni. Marina, 2007-11-25
Captain: , Austin, Tx (1257)

Main marina in the Les Cheneaux Islands. Typical Muni but friendly and good accomidations
