Reviews for Haven Harbour Marina
Great Place to stay. Top notch facilities., 2017-08-10
Captain: , Mount Vernon Yacht Club (12)

Decided to to give it 5 stars despite no resturant on facilites. But does have a nice open-air bar with nice food options open Thurs PM thru Sunday. (during time we where here).
Resturant next door Osprey Marina is very nice. Open Wed -Sun (at least while we are hear).
Suggest Bay Wolf Resturant in town for other nights.
Fords for breakfast.
Town has Shuttle that runs 11am-8pm during week ($1 person), late osn weekends.
During week, gets bikes and you can use them longer than 3 hours if demand is low. Keep bike key overnight if you want to bike for breakfast midweek.
Town is one of the best upkept towns that you will even go to.
Great view at the rock hall beach.
Pirates Weekend is their big annual event. Probably crazy crowded fun.

Best Fuel Price on the Bay, 2017-06-24
Captain: , Port Everglades (595)

The best fuel price in the area by a serious margin. Excellent fuel dock easy to tie up in any weather. Great staff help with pump out, water and fuel.

Best Full Service Marina in Rock Hall, 2016-11-12
Captain: , Bear, DE (560)

Can%u2019t say anything but good about this marina. Well maintained, clean facilities supported by a very professional staff.

We fouled our prop in a crab pot and needed a short haul to clear it. Based on favorable Active Captain reviews, we contacted Woody, Manager to explain our situation.

Woody referred us to Greta who worked us into the Fall haul out schedule so that when we arrived by BoatUS tow we were immediately handed off to the Haven Harbour tow which skillfully moved us directly into the TraveLift where we were hauled, prop and rudder cleared of fouling, power washed and placed into a slip for the night all within little more than an hour.

It was a very smooth and efficient operation. We were able to do laundry, take showers and relax for the evening.

The yard is a full service facility. Almost any type of work can be accomplished on site. Haulouts were being carried out in a very efficient manner. Ships store is well stocked. Showers and laundry are very clean and comfortable. Bicycles are available for runs to nearby restaurants or shops. Docks are in great shape.

Overall, a very well run operation with knowledgeable, friendly staff and competitive pricing.

Good Fuel Prices, 2016-10-16
Captain: , West River (298)

Haven Harbor fuel dock had the best price for 100 gallons or more of diesel along our cruise course. Access to the dock from the creek is through a fairly narrow fairway, so slower is better when approaching and coming along side of the dock. We approved approximately 30 minutes before opening, so we pulled right-up and waited. The fuel dock opened on time and both staff members were very helpful during the re-fueling and pump-out. Location is great with minimal potential for rocking from wakes.

Beautiful Marina, 2016-06-19

An One Stop Repair and Resort Marina, 2016-01-06
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (20)

I am a 15+ year customer who looks to the crew at HHM for all of my maintenance and repair needs. In the winter of 2015 (prior to putting my boat on the market) this talented group of professionals performed a refit of my 2000 Tartan 4600. It was completed on time and within the quoted cost of the work performed. Even better, when I opted to trade in the boat for its replacement, Tartan's COO boarded the vessel to determine its trade in value and said it was the best used T 4600 he had ever seen. Can you trust HHM's workmanship? Based on my experience, absolutely. Submitted by Tom Konopka (former owner of the T 4600 named "Sails Call")

Nice Place, 2015-10-12
Captain: , Berwyn (250)

Spent an evening at the Paradise Bar and Grill, had a great time trading local knowledge with the other boaters. I needed some special electrical parts that I couldn't find anywhere locally. I was told to go to their ship store. They figured out what I needed ordered them and got them the next day! They were very helpful!!

Haven Harbour, 2015-09-19
Captain: , Sandwich (722)

Worth the trip up Swan Creek. Beautiful natural setting. Clean facilities. Pool refreshing. Fuel reasonable. Dock Master Hal courteous and friendly. Safe walk into town to full service grocery store. Will return.

Very nice amenities, 2015-09-19
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7375)

We went to Haven Harbour at the recommendation of a local canvas shop, very glad we took his advice. Good response on phone and vhf when coming in, help from dock staff. We stayed on the newer floating "red" dock, solid with good cleats and pilings. Fairway to fuel dock narrow, only room for single boat on fuel dock, call ahead if you plan to go in for fuel or pump out. The marina store is fully stocked, nice restaurant / tiki bar. Very nice pool. We'll plan to come back next year.

Haven Harbour is truely a haven, 2015-08-19
Captain: , Kings Creek Marina (766)

Rock Hall, Maryland, has long been one of the places we wanted to visit. Cute, almost New England type of city with everything you need. Ace Hardware, liquor store, groceries, all in a three block area. But the dozen or so marinas here are the main attraction.
Above all, the Haven Harbour Marina is the jewel of the city. This place has it all: major yacht repair facilities, swimming pools, picnic area, fire pits on the beach, great transient slips. At this writing, the price for over 100 gallons of diesel fuel is $2.099/gallon! After fill up, we still had enough to go to the Passages Bar & Grill for their variation of a BLT, which includes a very large fried soft shell crab. There is a reception center, lounge, fitness room, and sparkling clean showers.
The staff here is top quality, friendly and courteous. Needed repairs are completed competently and professionally.
But it is the yacht maintenance specialist, Byron, who gets the lion%u2019s share of the credit. In addition to the lovely staff at the marina office, it is because of him that I would return here for any kind of problem that ever developed on our trawler. He found the %u201Csecret%u201D fuse that had put our starboard engine out of commission, corrected the problem, and charged us a whole lot less than we were anticipating!
We will go back, and we suggest you do the same.

Really Nice Marina, a hidden Gem!, 2015-08-04
Captain: , Lizella GA (1826)

They have everythig here! It is a large, friendly and helpful marina. My engine was overheating and the took me right in that evening and scheduled the repair for the next morning. They offer slip holders so much value including 2 pools, bikes, kayaks, 2 children play areas, shuttle service and full service haul out and repairs. Then the town of Rock Hall is a quaint town with lots of happenings going on. It is a very enjoyable stop.

Full service and then someplace, 2015-05-18

Outstanding All Round Marina, 2014-11-20
Captain: , Guntersville (100)

This is an outstanding marina. Had a lot of work done over the summer. Very professional in all aspects. Most accommodating. Facilities are spotless. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is nothing that they cannot do. Highly recommend for service or just as a resort. Great place with everything you need for complete boating experience.
Everyone on staff is great: Hank is the most knowledgeable engine mechanic I have ever run across. Mike is the most meticulous wood worker. Bill is most caring and competent service manager. Woody is everywhere and on top of everything. Many others notable as well.

great marina, 2014-11-14

Hal the dock master is the master of all things dock wise.

Excellent full service marina, 2014-10-07
Captain: , Kingston, NY (190)

Are you in search of a full service marina that offers; competitive pricing, a safe and friendly atmosphere, clean and very well-kept facilities, and to top it off, a knowledgeable staff to meet your boating needs? Then, like me, you will be very much pleased with what you will find at Haven Harbour Marina. Being a transient, I turned to active captain to seek out a marina that could repair and source the parts needed to keep me going on my voyage. I also needed a marina with on-site amenities such as, a washer and dryer, showers, and a ships store. Most importantly, I needed to be assured that my boat would be in the hands of professionals. So, after searching, I selected Haven Harbour Marina. Upon docking, I was greeted by a friendly and courteous staff. Walking through the grounds, I found them to be beautifully landscaped and above my expectations. The showers and restrooms were very well kept. Most importantly, the staff took the time to listen to my concerns and address my needs. The level of knowledge found at this marina was astounding. From simple tips and tricks to keep my boat in tip-top shape, to helping fine tune my navigation equipment, they had the right person for the job. Best of all, I was always greeted by name and my questions were being answered before I could ask. I am very much pleased with my experience at Haven Harbour Marina and plan on revisiting in the future.

No issue navigating the channel with 5'8 draft.

Nice, quiet marina, 2014-10-06
Captain: , Clayton, NY (655)

With winds gusting 25-30 out of the south we barely moved. Very friendly staff and very helpful when docing. Free bicycles for transients. Short walk or bike ride to a small town with a grocery store or to the Watermans Crab house where we had a delicious crab dinner. Very nice bathrooms and showers.

Nice view of the sunrise, 2014-09-25
Captain: , Georgetown Yacht Basin (50)

Stayed over on 9/19/14. Very nice, clean place. Received good directions to the assigned slip and help with the tie up. We had no problems following the channel in with a 4'8" draft.

Sweet Stop, 2014-09-19
Captain: , South Portland, Maine (847)

nice pool in the shade, try the open air "passages" on site for craft beer and fratatta and margueritas, wow!

Transient price $2.50/ft on weekends

Waste of water, 2014-09-02
Captain: , Grand Haven (470)

This marina is well protected. The docks are great. Pool is awsome.
The only reason it did not get a 5 star rating is the hot water for the showers. They need to install a hot water recirculating line so one does not have to wait for hot water and waste water for 10 minutes.

Great marina, plentiful and clean facilities, swimming pool, scenic walk., 2014-08-24
Captain: , New castle, DE (553)

I used this marina as start/finish point of my charters 3 times already, and want to share my words of praise. The marina is very clean, facilities are not crowded, personnel is knowledhgeable and willing to help. For children there is a swimming pool (with 8 feet depth on one side!), and a separate little one for adults. There is a multitude of picnic places and gazebos, complemented wth a paved path alongsize the marsh. Giant chess set is another good thing, not frequently found in marinas.

Great for a weekend retreat, 2014-08-04
Captain: , Middle River (130)

Very nice marina in all areas. The on site restaurant and bar are very good and convenient. Been coming in here for years and it gets better all the time.

Good facility; premium resort pricing, 2014-07-27
Captain: , Pasadena, MD (1496)

The facility is above average compared to all marinas; it's average for similar facilities. The customer experience is equivalent to, but not better than, other similar facilities. The marina facility is not remarkably better than many other marina facilities on the Bay and on the US East Coast, but transient overnight rates are here are well in excess of regional averages. The store is very well stocked. Prices are full retail plus. It's a good stay, but expect to pay premium prices here.

Visit for diesel fuel 13 Jul 14, 2014-07-22
Captain: , Annapolis (30)

I wanted to take on as much as 200 gallons of diesel. The attendent was excellent; assisted in handling the hose and calling out the gallons. The price dropped from $3.94 to $3.62 (with 6% tax) for over 100 gallons.

Grest Marina and Staff, 2014-06-25
Captain: , Wall, NJ (420)

This was our first time at Haven Harbour Marina and it will not be our last. Everything was top notch. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Showers were more than adaquate. The on cite restaurand and bar has changed and we did not partake.

Great place. Also good bareboat charters, 2014-05-22
Captain: , Gull Bay, Lake George, NY (274)

We chartered a Catalina 445 from Haven Charters. Everything was super. Boat was clean and everything worked. People very nice.
THe marina is excellent. Nice facilities, clean showers, nice pool. Fuel and pumpout service was excellent.

Yard work and marina experience outstanding, 2013-09-23
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (121)

We just left after a two week stay for work on our boat including Awlgrip, fiberglass, electrical, electronic and plumbing work. Everything was done to our satisfaction and management was there every step of the way to answer questions and revise tasks. They and marina staff could not have been nicer or more responsive and accommodating to our needs. We plan on making HHM a regular stop for a visit or boat work when passing through.

Not a positive experience with the yard, would give it negative stars, 2013-08-26
Captain: , Jordan Creek, NC (20)

Please note that my comments pertain only to my experience with the boat yard, NOT the marina. I have no comment re the marina part of the facility. Boat was anchored in nearby Swan Creek with a non-working windlass . Spoke in person with service manager at Haven Harbor yard re having a service tech come out to determine problem for repair. Manager told me I needed a new windlass or at least a new motor. When I told him I could not affored either, he was insistant and did not seem to want to consider troubleshooting the problem and fixing it. Wanted to "replace" without anyone even seeing it. Very reluctantly, begrudgingly, agreed to send someone out next day. He seemed mostly concerned that I would "bad mouth" Haven Harbor if the windlass could not be fixed or if it was fixed but later broke again. I thought about it and next morn, called to cancel the service request. I did not want to do business with a yard that had the "replace" attitude as their first response. What he does not understand is that his attitude is the cause of "bad mouthing" Haven Harbor. I would not recommend Haven Harbor boat yard to anyone (please note I am not commenting on the marina, only on the yard). Please see my comments re positive experience re Gratitude Marina and Yard on Swan Creek.

Great Amenities; First-Class Marina, 2013-08-01
Captain: , Occoquan, VA (400)

HH clearly lives up to its reputation as a GREAT marina, with outstanding amenities! The giftshop is very nice, but the marina store (upstairs) is excellent. We visited with 3 other boats ~50' LOA and stayed on Red dock. The dockmaster, Hal Hopkins, was fantastic and went out of his way to ensure our group had everything needed upon arrival. The pool is also very nice and well maintained. However, getting to the gas dock and the pump-out is a "one boat at a time" sequence as they are both located at end of a fairway. Suggest boats 50'+ LOA use Gratitude marina to fill-up. Town of Rock Hall is nice and the $1.00 per per person trolley from anywhere in town is fantastic. We also had an excellent group meal at Waterman's Crab House. The only negative is that marina residents like their solitude and don't appreciate music that can be heard more than one boat length away, even at 1:00 PM in the afternoon. All-in-all an excellent, 1st class marina and people--we'd definitely stay again.

just a short review, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Somers Point, NJ (230)

We didn't stay here but did gas up and was impressed with the staff. Depending on how much fuel you buy the price improves - we put 300 gallons on and paid 3.81/gl. Not too bad. Susie at the pumps was helpful during a tough dock maneuver and was pleasant to talk to during the fill up. We stayed at osprey point next door but haven looks just as nice. A very busy working marina.

A Complete Facility and a Great Place For A Club Envnt, 2013-07-15
Captain: , Annapolis Md (280)

I have stayed here a number of times. The staff was most helpful and the facilites are outstanding. The grounds are very well kept and the have a great ships store. This is a complete marina with full services for all types of yachts. The pool is nice, the heads are very good. The partime resteraunt offers good food on the weekends. Reasonably close to the town of Rockhall Md. While the slip fee is not a bargin the overall experience is one of the best on the bay. The first choice for a stay on Swan Creek.

Resort marina meets working boatyard, 2012-10-11
Captain: , Londontowne, MD (470)

Plus ship's chandlery and pleasant gift shop onsite. Extensive faclities and amenities in an obviously very well-maintained marina, docks (and a nice new floating dock), and grounds, with pleasant and helpful staff both on the docks and inside the shops. All I could hope for in a home marina (if it were closer to our home). Makes a great destination location when in Rock Hall, which also offers several good restaurants (Oprey Point, next door) reportedly a good live music venue (allthough not active during our latest visit), and periodic "festivals" for fun things like the pirates and wenches, waterman's docking contest, etc. Our berth during this visit was on the outer side of the new floating "red" dock, and was a breezy couple of days... so we found it noisier in that location (from water slapping on the hull) than it probably would have been at one of the inside slips.

Heard lots of good feedback, 2012-09-14
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (250)

I've heard lots of good feedback about the breadth and quality of the service experience at HH. I'm a slipholder at Osprey Point, next door, which is just a more refined and beautiful scene. I use the fuel dock at HH all the time -- The dock hands are great young people, always super-helpful and consciencious. Fuel prices are generally good if you need over 100 gallons (since they offer a per-gallon discount on the whole thing when you take over 100 gallons.

Excellent.. The way your marina experience should be..., 2012-08-29
Captain: , Pasadena (20)

Our favorite Rock Hall marina hands down!! Extremely nice staff, very accommodating and fantanstic facilities. Red dock is AWESOME with their new floating docks.. Highly recommend!!!!

Great Marina and Staff, 2012-07-15
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (242)

We have been here 3 years now. The marina has a very friendly and helpful staff. The maintenance guys have gone out of their way several times to help us with emerging problems and allow us to get under way for vacations. Very responsive.

The slip holders are very friendly and helpful. They have offered us a wealth of local knowledge and advice over the last three years.

The facilities here are great. The grounds are well maintained. It has a feel of a family resort.

Absolutely Fabulous, 2012-06-21
Captain: , Easton, Pa (40)

The marina grounds are beautiful, the facilities clean, the new floating dock system is great....but all this pales before the staff. They are wonderful!i From our first docking to our returning with a broken rig, the couteous, friendly and professional staff did everything possible to make our visit a success. Hats off to Dockmaster Hal and his great staff.

Always a top spot., 2012-05-30
Captain: , Pasadena,Maryland (510)

First transients of year in April, 2012. Rates were discounted with early season rate. Good facilities, location to town is oK. Restaurants nearby. New floating docks on one pier in place. Staff helpful.

Cute marina, nice atmosphere, 2012-05-08
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (386)

We have stayed here several times and enjoyed each stay. Lovely grounds, nice facilities, very helpful staff. It is an easy walk into town, restaurants, etc. We saw the construction of new piers and I hope the slips are wider than the old ones. We are 14.5' wide and it was quite a squeeze to back into the pilings, although the dockhand was very capable. The fuel dock is on land at the end of the fairway and a little tricky to maneuver.

Regarding another reviewer's comments about charging $15 for the dinghy dock: our friends came over from the Swan Creek anchorage by dinghy and were never approached. The adjacent marina, however, wanted to charge a dinghy fee to take a dog ashore.

Very Nice marina, 2011-10-05
Captain: , Toms River, NJ (21)

Sept 2011 two night stay. very accomodating, lots of picnic tables and BBQ grilles to use, nice area great dockmaster & crew. highly recommend.

marine service, 2011-10-05
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (130)

We have not stayed at the marina but it looks very nice. We have stored our boat over the winter (on the hard) and have had them perform numerous service needs for us, primarily electrical. They are very professional and well organized.

not the best on the bay, 2011-07-09
Captain: , Stafford, VA (1080)

The showers are not that of a top-rated marina, the parking lot isn't paved (hard to ride bikes on), and the fuel dock handles only1 boat at a time and is in a hard to reach place in certain winds. Also, fuel is $1/gal more than the going rate elsewhere on the bay.

are they serious?, 2011-06-01
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (75)

The sign on the dinghy dock demands $15 to use the dinghy dock... Specifically including access to the marina bar&grill. everything else about the marina is nice, but this is embarassing and foolish.

Great Marina in a neat area, 2011-03-23
Captain: , Moorestown, NJ (40)

HH is a really nice place. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I liked them so much that I had them paint my boat- which they did a great job. They handled that so well that I used them to repower the boat with Yanmar diesel engines which they did a terrific job.
I came to stay the night a couple years ago and keep coming back.

Haven Harbour, 2011-02-19
Captain: , Rock Hall MD (35)

One of the nicest marinas we've encountered. Great landscaping (a benefit when we walk the cat), service and amenities. We liked Rock Hall so much we bought a house there ! Marina is installing floating docks next season.

Best of the best, 2010-12-15
Captain: , Robbinsvill, NJ (148)

This is IMHO the best marina on the chesapeake. Excellent marine repair facilities, very nice helpful staff and lots to do with a pool, bar and bicycles for rental. Only negative is the location of the fueling facilities. Not easy to approach and can get backed up badly on weekends.

Haven HArbor, 2010-06-01
Captain: , Clear Lake, TX (694)

Great marina. Round about and shallow access but easy. Good docks and met by dock hands. Pleasant people and good heads & showers. Pool & picnic area. Nice store with both clothing, gifts & nic naks and maintenance & repair parts. Close to small city and a few good restaurants.

great stop, 2010-01-24
Captain: , Galena MD (201)

Beautifully landscaped marina. 2 pools, pleanty of spots to sit and eat on shore. Bikes so that you can ride around town. staff friendly and helpful. We will be back this season.

Our second year spring stop for haul out hull cleaning, bottom painting, and examination after returning from Florida waters. Excellent, knowledgeable, courtious and fair service. If you need something for your boat they can handle it promptly with a great staff .

Nice Marina in a Nice Town., 2009-06-09
Captain: , Chesapeake Bay, MD (311)

Stayed at HH a few times. Nice people, great grounds and pool. Their marine store on site is well stocked. Last stay we were next to the Pump Out and that was a tad unpleasant but we like the place. BigGrin

Excellent Service, 2009-06-05

Outstanding maintenance and repair facility, 2008-06-17
Captain: , South Portland, ME (537)

Had several repairs and upgrades made to a newly purchased boat before taking it to New England. Very capable and very courteous. I strongly recommend them to do maintenance and repair.

Haven Harbour Marina, 2008-05-09
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (7)

Haven Harbour is a well-equipped marina that is home to about 300 boats, has a small but excellent snack bar from Memorial Day till Labor Day (approx), and is known for its excellent maintenance capability. The showers facilities are very good, and the ship's store--clothing, maintenance items, and some parts--is an attractive feature.

top notch, 2008-03-20
Captain: , Chestertown, Maryland (15)

Haven Harbour is one of the best full service marinas on the Chesapeake. Top notch services and facilities, great dock crew.

Great Night, 2007-09-29
Captain: , Middle River, MD- York, PA (47)

Spent the night as a transient. Upon arrival they were very helpful with directions and a dock hand to assist with docking. Very well maintained marina. Outside bar was also nice. 20 minute walk to town which is small but nice. All in all a very good experience. I would reccomend this to other boaters.

Expectations Met, 2007-07-23
Captain: , St Louis (68)

A very well maintained marina. A great group of competent craftsmen and marina staff. Haven't been "pampered" like this before! Small nearby town has it all (incl Ice Cream). Annapolis and Baltimore are just across the very close Bay Bridge. Great local cruising.

Pricey & Shoal, 2007-07-15
Captain: , Annapolis (1)

Fine place, nice heads, outdoor bar with limited food, not for deep draft vessels. At the end of a pier, 5 1/2 ft. at low tide.
