Boat Service, 2015-07-22
Captain: , Timonium (90)

Hauled, bottom painted, hull and top-side detailed (Rejex) along with pod service on my 2008 44 Sundancer - all performed as promised and delivered on time and on budget - highly recommend. I will return.

Could not be more pleased, 2014-10-13

Got a lot of help preparing my boat to move to Kentucky by water.
Dave, Melody, and Derrick were so very helpful in all my needs.
Dave went out of his way to make sure my boat was ready and familiarize me with how to navagate my first Atlantic ICW trip. He was very knowledgable on my route going south in the Cheasapeake Bay. I would not hesitate to recommend Dave and his crew. Thanks

Beware of Harrison Yacht Sales and Dave Harrison!!!! They are thieves, they performed work without prior approval on my boat only to screw it up and create an even bigger problem. They don't know how to stick to a schedule and the owner Dave Harrison will curse you out if you question why work was done without your permission.

I had my boat stored here for the last year while it was for sale. I had a buyer put a contract on the boat and they performed a survey. A few issues were discovered and I contracted Harrison's to perform the work. I needed the shower sump pump fixed, the generator was not producing 120 volts and the engine could be started while in gear. Here is the timeline of events and my nightmare of working with Dave Harrison and Harrison Yacht Sales!!!

5/23 I contracted the work
5/27 I received the initial work order, was told they would try to get to it this week.
6/2 I receive a call, my boat is taking on water, most likely coming from the shift cable bellow
6/4 I followed up, told the boat was hauled
6/6 I followed up again, was told the mechanic would be on the boat later in the day to look at it. A few hours later, I got a call from Dave Harrison, the mechanic checked out the boat, we agreed to order a new capacitor for the generator. He told me we should replace the other 2 bellows while they had the drive off. They said it would be an additional 3-4 hours, I was hesitant to commission any additional work/incurr any more expenses since I had a list of repairs the buyers already requested I repair and this technically was falling into preventative maintenance. I asked Dave if the other 2 bellows were cracked or had failed, he said no and it was up to me if I wanted to replace them, but he would only do the work if I gave them the go ahead. We eventually agreed to replace them and they ordered the parts.
6/12 I followed up, was told the capacitor just arrived
6/17 I followed up again and was told they were waiting for the bellows to come in. 11 days after I told them to order the parts, they are still waiting for the parts to arrive...
6/17 The buyers back out of the contract, they are tired of waiting with no end in sight.
6/18 The parts are delivered
6/24 Received a call from Dave Harrison, tells me they have a problem. Said they tried to replace the raw water inlet hose, but it was corroded and in the process they broke a bolt, they tried unsuccessfully to rethread the bolt, but it broke. He said they need to pull the motor to fix it and it's going to be an extra 16 hours. I asked if the hose had cracked/failed and why it was being replaced. He stated it was not cracked, but it was part of the work of replacing the bellows that we had previously discussed. I said this is the first time anyone has mentioned replacing a hose and I never gave the go ahead to perform the work. I called my old mechanic I used prior to storing my boat at Harrisons, and he had no idea why they would have replaced that hose unless it failed. He said he never touches that hose, unless he needs to, because this is likely to happen. He said they were likely trying to create more work and would recommend getting the boat hauled out of there. I called Dave Harrison back and again questioned why the work was done without my consent, as I now had a huge repair looming, he then blows up on the phone, cursing at me and telling me it was the right thing to do. I said the right thing to do would have been to get the approval to perform the work. He cursed at me some more and I told him to stop all work and that I was having the boat hauled out of there.
7/14 After getting the boat hauled out and moved to Jabin's, I had my old mechanic check out the boat. Turns out Harrison's destroyed my transom assembly after trying to rig up something with the raw water inlet hose. I had to completely replace the transom assembly. Also, my mechanic only charged me 12 hours to pull the engine, replace the transom assembly, reinstall the engine and outdrives and test.

Keep your boat far away from Harrison's unless you want to go broke!! It seems I am not the only person Dave has tried to pull one over on, don't be the next!

Owner is a crook, 2014-07-29
Captain: , Chester, MD (20)

Used to have all my work done here (>3years, >$10K), until I started noticing padded repair-hours in my bills. Got charged 20-hours during a time I know my boat was un-touched in back of lot, while main mechanic was on vacation and assistant was devoted to other work. When I called the owner on it, he immediately got furious, started cussing, then told me he wasn't launching (for my sea-trial of major mechanical work) until the bill was paid-in-full AND IN CASH OR CERTIFIED FUNDS ONLY!! He refused to take my credit card or check and accused me of trying to skip-out on my bill, all because I questioned where these 20-hours showed up from (and was above the quoted repair too)! Service people have skills, but owner is a flaming-crook. Go anywhere else first.

I am from NJ and purchased a 47' boat late November 2013 in MD. Not being from the area I took a leap of faith in deciding to winterize at Harrison's and I'm glad I did. Dave Harrison is a seasoned pro and his staff knows what they're doing. Melody in the office is on top of all things and she always answers and returns phone calls. I was so pleased that I decided to wet slip with them for the month of April. Wife, 2 kids and I slept on board four weekends straight. Only one night was rolly as the marina is exposed to SSW winds. Still the kids slept like logs!

Great Yard and great staff, 2014-06-25
Captain: , Key West, FL (115)

I have owned big boats for 45 years and have had them hauled from Maine to Florida. Decided to get the bottom done while cruising the Chesapeake because the boat was oveerdue. Had the boat hauled on Monday and it was back in the water Wednesday morning. Not only did they do a fabulous bottom paint job but also repaired my trim tabs and replaced 6 8D batteries. Very high quality work.

Buyer Beware, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Chester, MD (225)

Difficult to deal with manager. Not all employees well trained. Poor workmanship. There are better choices in the area.

Quick Turnaround, 2013-11-18
Captain: , Herrington Harbour South (328)

Had engine troubles Monday and the boat was ready by Thursday for pick-up. And the only reason it was 'that long' was because the weather wasn't good for a sea trial Tues. & Wed. AND this was done during their busiest time of the year hauling, pressure washing and shrink-wrapping boats.

Cummins service center, 2013-02-24
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (644)

In addition to being a multi-brokerage yard, this facility is also a Cummins repair/service center as of April 2012. We stopped in here to cure a nagging genset issue and stayed the night courtesy of Cummins.

Kevin is the mgr and Kyle his right arm with four service techs working out of this shop. Reach them at 410-690-3612

Nothing positive, 2012-07-25
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (40)

Myself and several other friends have had nothing but negative experiences with the owner. Wouldn't use them if they were the last service facility on the Eastern Shore. Lure you in and slam you with unfair pricing and service on the back end. No integrity!

Great Service and good people, 2011-07-20
Captain: , Kent Island, Chesapeake Bay (169)

My dock neighbors and I have been using this yard for the past two years. All positive experiences and better pricing than their neighbors.
