The Fish House Grocery Store is a small but well-stocked grocery store rarely mentioned in the cruising guides but known through the locals. The name implies it is just a fish market (which is how it started out many years ago). It has larger quantities of items (e.g., gallon cans of baked beans, 10 pound tube of frozen ground beef, 10 pound bag of frozen chicken breasts) as well as more normal quantities.

It is located at the approximate location:

The store is part of the Skagg's Import/Export Company in the industrial area of the eastern shore. Seeing the working boats and warehouses from the water side, you would not think to dinghy into this area looking for groceries. Just pick an empty space at the docks (stay away from the industrial wharf) and walk 100 yards to the store.

Yes - Wally's Restraurant, across from Harbor View, is the best local restraurant in Marsh Harbor. Tablecloths, beautiful settings in both indoor and outdoor dinning, quick service and especially good food at reasonable prices makes this a favorite in Marsh Harbor. Try out their special drink "Gully Washers" (but only try one if you're driving).

Reviews for Harbour View Marina
Harbour View is the "BEST"!!!, 2017-04-23
Captain: , Toronto (40)

We have always been impressed by the great staff at Harbour View. Harbour View is a family owned and operated marine, hardly ever found these days. Troy and the Crew are always on site and always there for you %u2013 they can%u2019t do enough. Troy%u2019s mother Phillis is an amazing women -- laid-back, smart and oh so funny. The marina itself is pristine. The Crew keeps it so clean and fresh from the docks, to the pool, to the office and lounge, to the laundry and to the patio and barbeque. We have been cruising all over the Great lakes, East Coast, Bahamas and the Caribbean for over 40 years. In our estimation, Harbour View is the best marina we have ever been in and we have seen them all. Many thanks again to the very warm and inviting Harbour View Crew!

Decent Stop ..... But, 2017-04-09
Captain: , Miami (70)

Stayed here for 5 days/nights in early April. Dock space for catamarans is very limited so call ahead. In fact, dockage is pretty limited in general because many boaters use Marsh Harbour/Harbour View Marina as a base station. But once in, you can stay as long as you want with extended/long term rates being pretty attractive. The marina had clean heads/showers and an operational laundry. Having a pool was also an added benefit, as well as the book exchange. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the dockhands were very competent. Maxwell's (largest grocery in the Bahamas) was a short 15 min walk from the marina, and was well stocked. Numerous eating establishments and liquor stores near-by. All in all, a decent stay .... except on Friday and Saturday nights when Snappers has a live band which plays until 1:00 in the morning. Also, there were boats in and out all the time as it is also a homeport for Dream Yacht Charters, and a boat rental facility. Cruisers should note that water is charged (no opt out) $17 dollars for the first 3 days, then $3 a day after that. Also, the water is very, very salty even with a filter, so I would NOT put their water into fresh water tanks. And forget about using your watermaker because the port is filthy. As a previous cruiser commented, the fuel dock seems to be constantly occupied by Dream Yacht Charter boats or some large cruisng yacht there for fuel or simply using it as a dockage.

Not a good experience, 2017-04-05
Captain: , Marathon, FL (496)

We stayed here one night and were disapointed with the service and marina as a whole.

Called Saturday for a reservation the following day. We were told not to come in too early as the marina didn't open until 11am on Sunday. Arrived at 11:30am to find the fuel dock full because of a large charter cat filling up and a power cat transient staying on the dock. So we motored around for 1/2 hour and pulled in right behind the charter cat leaving. In the 5 minutes it took us to tie up, the dock hands decided to full the diesel tanks on a 60 foot motoryacht - down the dock. We waited over an hour to get our 40 gallons while they pumped 600 gallons into the yacht.

Because we waited so long to fuel, it was low tide and we ran aground going into our slip. We were just able to get off the boat for shopping which was why we stayed at the marina.

6am the next morning we were woken up by engines and diesel fumes from the same 60 foot motoryacht leaving the slip next to us. Turns out this boat is used for taking passengers to and from the other islands. After we cleared our boat of the diesel fumes, the boat came back to the dock to drop off passengers and left again. All before 6:30am.

When we were checking out I complained about being put next to this boat with the fumes and engine noises. The manager said, "They come and go all the time. It's their business." There were other slips available. With just a little foresight the dockmaster could have easily docked us away from that boat.

Will not go back here. There are other marinas in the area with much better customer service.

Posted Water Charge Is Out Of Date, 2017-02-11
Captain: , Seattle (188)

Water at $5.00 per day is no longer available. Instead, the charge as of December 2016 is $17, which covers up to 3 days.

Nice CLEAN marina; Prices Better for 4+ days than overnight, 2017-02-05
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1025)

Very nice marina with nice and very clean restrooms and showers. Pool is small but functional for a dip. Location is right next to Snappas, Wally's, Curly Tails, and Mangoes Resturants. Pricing structure is a little complicated and but built more for people staying 4+ days than simply overnght. It is "pay-for" Wi-fi and no cable TV (in spite of what the "dockage" section says).

Economical, 2017-02-05
Captain: , Marco Island (242)

Excellent staff. Good water. Stayed 4 nights. Part of the Royal Marsh Harbor Yacht Club program. Worth it to join.

Jan 2017 Visit, 2017-01-25
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (650)

Sixth stay at marina. First rate service, facilities, and accomodations. They make you feel like famiy and try to accommodate your every need. We have not found a better marina in the Bahamas.

Friendly and well run, 2016-06-13
Captain: , Chicago (135)

Stayed here twice on our Abacos trip. Great spot to resupply (see Maxwells grocery). Clean and friendly. Office staff was the best we met in the Bahamas. Dock staff is also very good. WiFi is tough to get at the dock if you don't have a booster, just like everywhere....

Just Perfect!, 2016-04-02
Captain: , Little Creek VA (605)

Friendly staff, good facilities, best of all...they get it with the showers/heads. Individual heads/showers, very clean and well kept, with places to hang your clothes, a grate to keep your feet off of the wet floor, and, best of water in the sinks! With good mirrors, finally a Bahamian marina that caters to men who shave!

Convenient location, 2016-03-16
Captain: , Clearwater, FL (270)

Harbour View is a very nice facility with easy access to town, restaurants, shopping and other needs in Marsh Harbor. Wally's Restaurant across the street is excellent and the restaurant premises are lovely. Rates for dockage are reasonable, but rates for electric, water, ice, etc. really add up quickly for short stays.

Long Term Stay, 2016-03-09
Captain: , New Bern, NC (10)

We stayed at Harbour View for 10 months as a base of operations for our Abaco cruising. One of the dockhands (a licenced captain) was assigned to look after our boat in our absences (at no extra charge). He spent over an hour with me as did the marina owner learning about the boat's operation before we went home for 3 months. Our boat was hauled for a hurricane at a local yard in our absence and returned to the dock. Boat washing, bottom cleaning and maintenance services were all available through local recommended contractors. This is one of the best run marinas we've stayed at over our years of boating. The staff are friendly, very professional and extremely helpful. Major airport is minutes away as are grocery, hardware, restaurants and most services you need. I can't say enough about Troy and his "Crew".

Great place to dock, 2016-01-27
Captain: , annapolis (453)

Update. Docked at Harbour View Dec. 7 thru 9, 2015.
From approaching the fuel dock to docking in my slip Joey and Amber were right there- handling the lines, keeping the boat from hitting the pier. In the office delt with Ron and GiGi, again outstanding service. Troy, the owner, was not in. Regardless his staff carried on the 5 star service offered by Hafrbour View.
Always a pleasure to stop at HVM in Marsh Harbor.

Have docked at Harbour View Marina 3 times in 3 yrs. I always find Troy, his mother Ms. Phyllis, and all of the crew very accommodating. Very nice people. Harbour View is very clean and well maintained. Prices are reasonable and the location is close to almost everything. Enjoy.

Aside, highly recommend Jeff Key for a taxi service. Jeff is always on time but in those rare instances he is running late, he will
call to update you. Jeff's cell is 242-357-6980.

Fantastic Marina!, 2016-01-05
Captain: , Mayport Florida (452)

Cleanest facility we stopped at in the Bahamas! Convenient location to everything you need. The air conditioned heads/showers were awesome, the pool refreshing, and the service first rate. Dockmaster Ron was a master in his craft, able to get us tied up under "fresh" conditions without a scratch. Incredibly curteous! I had reservations about taking on "city water" vs RO but the water quality was fine. Snappas restaurant next door was nice, despite a limited menu, but even better was Curly Tails right up the street. One note, this marina is host to Dream Yacht Charters so the docks can get quite busy with charter guests and all their baggage.

Convenient and Family Run, 2015-12-11
Captain: , Connelly N.Y. (353)

This is a very convenient stop in Marsh Harbour. Right across from one of the best restaurants Wally's.

Really Nice Marina, 2015-06-08
Captain: , punta gorda, fl (1448)

Stayed here twice in May of 2015. Stays for 4 days or longer get a reduced rate. Docks are in good shape and have long finger piers. Staff is very professional and knows what they are doing when they help you with docking. Nice small pool and covered outside meeting area. Also nice inside air conditioned sitting area. Computers available. WIFI also available and free. Sometimes it worked really good even out on the docks and sometimes not so good. City water and metered electric. Block and cube ice. Good showers and baths. A bunch of nearby restaurants and shops including a really large grocery. Altogether a really good place to stay in Marsh Harbour.

Firendly Marina and Close By Stores, 2015-04-30
Captain: , St Pete Beach, Florida (278)

Nice, friendly marina with pool, outdoor and indoor lounge, wonderful gas grill and clean showers. Laundry is open 24/7. Four restaurants within walking distance, Curly Tails is our favorite. Excellent grocery store, Maxwells, is a long walk (uphill). Walk up and take a taxi back with lots of groceries. Also within walking distance are banks, two nice bakeries, and gift shops. Farmer's market (some Saturdays) are a short cab ride. Take the dinghy to Jib Room for Wednesday night (ribs) and Saturday night (steak) barbeque with rake and scrape and limbo. Chicken and fish also available both nights. Call ahead, they do sell out.

We heard that snorkeling the Mermaids was good, walk across street from Jib Room.

Very Pleasent, 2015-04-06
Captain: , Slidell, La. (1148)

We stayed here for three nights, Did scrape the soft bottom comming in slip on low tide drawing 4'-6" but once in slip depth was good. The Air Conditioned clean private restrooms were nice, Pool is well kept. There is a lot of staff and all were very nice and helpfull.

Great Marina, 2015-03-29
Captain: , Hampton, VA (453)

We stopped here after being in the Exumas for the winter months. Great communication coming on and the Dockmaster was right on the spot getting us through the channel into the slip. We draw 4'10" and had no problems getting in. Restrooms are clean with nice Hot showers with a pool to relax in during the day. The Maxwell local supermarket is one of the largest we have seen in the past months and you can rent bikes down the street to tour the area. Biggest difference we find here is the change in color of the water from like a swimming pool in the Exuma's to a green hue here in the Abacos. Overall positive experience and the Harbor View Marina makes for a pleasant stay.

clean, secure marina, 2014-11-04
Captain: , Tarpon Springs (250)

Had not planned on stopping at Marsh Harbor but when we developed a couple of maintenance issues we changed our plans. We needed to order a new battery charger and the quickest way to get it was to have someone bring it in from Florida. Talk about service above and beyond! Troy the marina owner picked up our charger in Florida and brought it back with him. He also recommended an electrical tech by the name of Andrew who was thorough, knowledgeable and fairly priced. Marina is clean, centrally located. if in Marsh Harbor, this is the spot to be.

Nice marina and convenient to shopping, 2014-01-06
Captain: , st john, usvi (130)

I had the slip inside the fuek dock on the east side for several nights. Felt like my keel (6' draft) might have been in the mud at low tide.

Well run marina with friendly staff. Clean restrooms and nice laundry. Will be back.

Snappas and Wallys give a discount on dining for boaters staying at the marina.

Not to far to Maxwell grocery store which was a pleasant suprise.

Great visit at Harbor View, 2013-12-26
Captain: , New Bern NC (120)

Troy and staff took great care of Charbonneau for nearly two weeks. Snappas and Mangos resturants are next door, making the dinner trek very short. Maxwells grocery is on par with any fine US grocery. Had an outboard engine issue and the mechanic came to the boat...had it running in 30 minutes. Definitely recommend.

Could be more helpful, 2013-11-13
Captain: , Westport CT (83)

Limited hours open. Troy could be more helpful. More expensive than Conch Marina which has better hours and more helpful personel.

Snappas Restaurant, 2013-08-19
Captain: , Oakton, VA (349)

Grilled conch (wrapped in foil) was superb! Also don't miss conch salad from George outside by the pier. Best with "a little spice"...

Well Run Facility, 2013-07-20
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (420)

This marina is convenient to all the resources available in Marsh Harbor. The facilities are first rate, The charges are reasonable, and the staff is very accomodating. If you need Yamaha repair Terence of Master Marine is the go to guy.

Great, even if you anchor out!, 2013-06-19
Captain: , Eau Gallie, FL (349)

For visits over the past two years have used the laundry and shower facilities, lunching at Snappas next door while waiting for machines to finish. A bit more than the laundry in town, but a far nicer place to spend the time. Snappas will also let you use their wifi while dining with them. We think its the best place to do laundry in the Abacos. Get tokens from the office.

Great Marina, 2013-06-18
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (162)

A great stop over for two nights June 17 & 18. Troy and his staff are very accommodating from the time they meet you at the dock. Very well maintained and clean. Great proximity to town for groceries, hardware and supplies and three restaurants within steps of the office. Came in on the afternoon high tide on the 17th, draft of 5' and we had 4' clearance and 2' at low tide. Looking forward to returning.

This marinan gets 5 stars for a reason, 2013-06-08
Captain: , Ft. Pierce FL. (221)

Everyone who has rated this marina gives it 5 stars for a reason. Great(fair) pricing, great facilities, friendly staff. Only place I'd stay in Marsh Harbor. The others may be great also, but why would I leave a good thing?

Best in Marsh Harbour, 2013-05-29
Captain: , Ft. Myers, Fl. (361)

Great staff. Troy goes above & beyond. Good fuel prices for the area. Walk for about everything, hardware, liquor, Maxwell's groceries. No Marina WiFi but good BTC signal. Two computers in office for marina use. Clean. Get George's Conch Salad on weekends, Ummm Good.

Rated on Fuel Dock Only, 2013-05-08
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

Visted here the day before to make sure I could get fuel and pay by check. Next day filled up and was told that they did not accept USA checks, only Bahama checks. This is after I filled up. Credit card surcharge was 5% - way too high and I thought at least the dockmaster (Troy?) should have at least charged me less than the 5%. Then he proceeded to get on my case because we stayed at another marina in MH, and not his.

Very Well Run, 2013-05-05
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (153)

Stayed here a week waiting for a boat part. Troy, the owner, has a hands on approach to running his marina, and can hardly be distinguished from the rest of his staff as he wears a "Crew" shirt with the rest of them. The pool is small, but in a nice setting. The bathrooms are clean and the docks are well maintained. Dockage is $1 per foot if staying three nights or more and there are monthly and seasonal rates too. Restaurants are nearby. Snappas, next door has music on the weekends, but the bands shut down by midnight. The security is outstanding. A wooden fence surrounds the small property and keys are needed to enter from the street. Marine supplies, grocery, liquor stores, hardware, etc., are all within a short walk. We'll be staying here again.

Great Marina, 2013-04-27
Captain: , Dallas, TX (726)

Stayed 2 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful, appears to be family run. Wide docks were nice. Met lots of long term tenants from US that provided lots of local knowledge.

very nice marina, 2013-03-28
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (280)

Stayed three nights. Staff is extremely helpful. Docks are in great shape with wide, long finger piers. Each slip has a ladder, so if you dock your boat the way deck hands suggest, you can use the dock ladder on the low tides to get on/off the boat.

Laundry was $4 to wash ad $4 to dry. But all machines did a great job of getting the clothes clean. Dryers dried in one load.

We liked the feeling of security within the marina, with the locked front gate.

Bounce Around, 2013-03-14
Captain: , Cape Coral (120)

Pulled in to get out of NW blow. Marsh habour is rough when wind is out of NW. Very good staff and you get discount at Wally's and Snappers. Band noise from Snappers gets annoying.

My favorite marina, 2012-07-30
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (1306)

In Marsh Harbour.
The service is great. Troy, the owner, will do anything to make your stay a good one.
Only this last stay Troy wasn't there, I had generator probs and Marselle recommended a fellow named Andrew who charged 150.00 USD. His diagnosis was incorrect and I ended up fixiing it myself. It was what what I said it was all along. Water line clogged up. Andrew Said it was a heat sensor and he couldn't get one.
Don't like Andrew... Still Like Harbour View

Great place to leave boat!, 2012-07-25
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (121)

Left the boat here for a month between vacations. As said in the posted reviews, very friendly/helpful staff, secure environment and affordable rates (got an $0.85/ft rate for the month).

Troy and staff were very helpful in keeping an eye on the boat, coordinating service calls and cleaning the boat prior to my return.

Only caution is in regard to bottom growth. Have left the boat in Nassau for 6 weeks with no bottom accumulation. Not so here - had plenty of grass when I returned. Unfortunately, that was on a Sunday and no amount of calls could locate a diver on the weekend. Ended up cleaning myself at a great sandy bottom location suggested by Troy.

Will definitely base here for next Abacos vacation.

Snappas for WiFi, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Jaluit (622)

To add to all the information from previous reviews, internet is very important to us. Snappas next door has great internet for the price of a drink. I could not get OII or Bhama WiFi to move data.

Harbour View Marina, %u2014 a Kudo, 2012-04-30
Captain: , Vero Beach (527)

We have been involved with marinas for 38 years. We have had generally good experiences and a few memorably bad ones. Our experience with Harbour View Marina has been memorably excellent.

The People. This is a family business involving at least two generations. They are actively involved in the minute to minute operations and maintenance of the property. The dock crew (and the manager/owner wears a dock %u201CCREW%u201D shirt) who aren%u2019t family are treated as if they were. The net result is a high level of engagement in a good customer experience. The family actively seeks feedback.

The Property. The marina is very well and constantly maintained. It reflects the attention and pride of the owners. The heads aren%u2019t just cleaned, they are disinfected. The five heads and showers are air conditioned, vented, and well lit. A key is required %u2014 as it is to access the marina from the street after hours. Visitors must pass through the office.

The pool is clean and kept that way. There is a large propane grill available for slip occupants and a seating area for impromptu outdoor dining. The laundry equipment works! The docks are assembled with stainless steel hardware. A few boards rattle, but that%u2019s the marine environment. We never detected a wobble anywhere.

The power towers are well maintained, and we never had a power or cable outage as a result of the marina. Each dock has a ladder for safety and for dealing with the 2-4 foot tides that affect the harbour. The water at the slips is potable.

The slips are generally deeper than the approaches, we only touched on the one day when tides were nearly a foot below mean low water. Moving in and out of the marina just requires paying close attention to the dockmaster%u2019s instructions.

Wally%u2019s Restaurant across the street is reminiscent of Bermuda. Hosted by Eric from Bairritz, France it is part of the HVM complex, and slip holders get a 10% discount by showing their marina key. The food and service are excellent.

For what one receives, the fees here are quite reasonable, and their fee table is explicit. I won%u2019t quote them because things change.

But no place is perfect.

Environmental. All of Marsh Harbour%u2019s south side Marinas are exposed to west and northwest winds which when they blow, blow strongly. HVM is the windward of these. A shoal just west of the marina (remember follow the dockmaster%u2019s instructions) helps moderate the chop/swell that will roll into the marina in these conditions. It is possible to see 1-2 foot chop. If this is a problem for you, ask to be slipped on the east side of the marina where the boats to the west will moderate things. The fetch to the east is protected by two other marinas and a short natural fetch. Notably the south side marinas are closest to the services and shops of Marsh Harbour.

Acoustic. All of Marsh Harbours south side marinas are on the main drag. There is traffic noise. If this is a problem for you, ask to be slipped as far out is reasonable for a boat of your size.

HVM is bracketed by Snappa%u2019s (bar with food) and Mangoes (restaurant with bar). Snappa%u2019s has no qualms about playing loud music well past midnight a couple of nights a week. The musicians are of variable quality, but the bass is consistently cranked to %u201Cblow out.%u201D It is a bother all the way into the anchorage. Ask to be slipped as far out on the east side as possible. Mangoes%u2019 entertainment is much more controlled with a very talented musician and an inclination to turn the volume down early.

HVM is the terminus for the shuttle service to Baker%u2019s Bay. Their shuttle boats are exquisitely handled by real professionals. But the boats have bow thrusters which must be used to get in and out of the slips these boats use. The sound travels through air and water. If this is going to bother you, ask to slip to the outer east side.

None of the items mentioned will keep us from returning next year, but we wanted to present a balanced perspective.

Noisy on Friday and Saturday Night, 2012-03-23
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1304)

Be careful is you are coming in on a Friday or Saturday night, or a night that the band is playing at Snappas. Luckily with the AC on, a cabin opposite the restaurant, an a time after 12 midnight, my sleep was undisturbed. You could hear the band in the cabin with the ac on.

Great Home Base for the Abacos, 2012-01-29
Captain: , Westbrook, CT (453)

Located central to Marsh Harbor, the well maintained marina has substantial docks, great showers, a pool, and internet access in the office when it is open. Maxwell's, a supermarket as good as any in the US, is a 15 minute walk.
Lots of the marina occupants have been returning here for years.
Rates are $1.50 per foot transient, $0.75 per foot for montly. Water is $15 minimum, $60 per month. Electricity is metered.

among the best in the Abacos, 2011-07-23
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1244)

Troy and his family make you feel like honored guests. They are eager to please. Docks are in good shape as is power. Easy access to Wally's and Mango's resturants. Short cab ride to groceries. OII and Bahanmas Wimax wifi, or hard wired internet in the office. Only negative is cost of electric, metered at $0.60/kwh. Electric in the summer can cost as much as the dockage.

April 2011 rate update, 2011-05-18
Captain: , Clearwater, Florida (141)

I agree with all the below reviews. The marina had everything we were looking for, and the staff is professional and very friendly. Very clean and well maintained facility.

Although high season transient dockage rates ($1.70/ft for 1-3 nights, $1.30/ft thereafter) were to take effect March 1, a special was still in effect Apr 30 ($.90/ft for all nights). This meant I paid $45.90 per night for my 51' catamaran. An incredible deal, especially considering my 27' beam usually has me paying T-head rates. The on-site owner/manager (Troy) knows that an empty slip has no revenue.

Electric was metered at $.65/KwH. Water was $5/day, which is cheap by Abaco standards. Diesel was $5.35/gal.

Highly recommended. We're going back!

Top Notch, 2011-05-10
Captain: , Texas (92)

We stayaed here for 4 days in early May and were very pleased with everything. Good location, two computers in office w/internet and very clean facilities. Would definately stay here again.

Marsh Harbour is a must!!, 2011-04-14
Captain: , Vancouver, BC (10)

For those yachties that need to tie up to a dock now and again, you will not be dispappointed with Harbour View Marina. We have now been at the dock for the past four days aboard our sailing catamaran, a 40' Leopard. The owner (Troy) and his competent crew at dockside are only too happy to meet your every request. Under the ownership and management of Troy Cornea, this marina has been upgraded in recent years and offers the finest marina facilities in Marsh Harbour proper. Piers, office, small pool, and other facilities are modern and in excellent repair, and Troy's on-site management assures that they stay that way. He's always there to take a line, answer the radio, or lend a hand--helpful, friendly and customer-focused. The marina draws the top yachts in the harbor, mainly motor yachts but a sprinkling of sailing yachts as well. A terrific marina experience!
