Reviews for Harbour Towne Marina

Jonathon, Andrew and James were awesome when we pulled into the fuel dock and our slip. Service was excellent.

The best marina in the area, 2016-08-08
Captain: , CALEDONIA , MI (10)

We have been to a lot of marina's in MI, IL , IN HARBOR TOWNE is by far the best.

Excellent Place to stop, 2015-09-18
Captain: , Portland, Oregon (496)

We stopped for two nights just before the labor day weekend and found the marina and its facilities to be excellent but the marina was not sufficiently manned for the number of boats demanding service. There was one young girl trying to manage the arriving boats and slip assignments and service the three of four boats wanting fuel and pump outs. Needless to say we didn't get any dock help and our buddy boat was sent to four different slips before they found one that was vacant. They need at least two people on duty to handle the traffic safely.

Muskegon Harbortown Marina, 2015-05-26
Captain: , Muskegon, Michigan (10)

North side is the club & marina. South side is dock-a-minium. The entire place is managed & maintined by the north side marina. Gas is ethanol-free. Fuel dick is an easy approach & tie up on the north side of the channel at the east end of the marina. There is limited transient accomodation but often, a cap end can be arranged for large boats. Minimum depth at the Muskegon lake entry (east end of the channel) is about 9 feet. It is important to stay centered at the entry if you are deep. Dockers Restaurant on the N-S channel at the west end has vallet assistance for tie up. No rafting. Dinghy over from the S side docks. Dockers has live bands on weekends; good food; outdoor or indoor dining. Further south in the basin, Pigeon Key marana tends shallow. Public grills on both N & S sides. If you dock on the south, there is a 150 yard walk between the condos to the toilets/showers. These are push-button keyed. This basin remains weed & algae free through the summer. Electric is mixed 110-220. A combiner pig-tail will make 220 from 110. Walk to swimming beaches on Muskegon Lake from either N or S sides. Walk to the Lake Michigan beach public park to the west. Nearby is the WWII submarine museum & historic vessels. Many downtown restaurants deliver to the boats. Our favorite is HAABS.

We have docked on the south side for 4 years. Our dock mates are great people. We enjoy the free concerts from Dockers every weekend. This is easy in & out from the big lake with plenty of depth in normal water level years. The marina is extremely well protected from all wind directions. We have had no vandalism or other such issues in time we have been there.

Great Marina, 2015-03-26
Captain: , Muskegon MI (169)

Water levels used to be an issue for the fixed docks but that really isn't an issue any more. Gas dock staff isn't always there as they are maintaining the facilities so you may have to radio or call. You will have to pump your own fuel as well, it's just their policy. Bathrooms are clean and the south side of the marina is to be avoided unless you have your own facilities aboard.

After Labor day, 2014-09-16
Captain: , Galena, MD (1826)

Staff is excellent and attentive. Docks are solid but high. Easy in and out from the big lake.
After Labor day the restaurants all close. There is nothing available. Better to head to town.

Nice Place to hole up..., 2013-08-21
Captain: , Rockford, Mi (32)

We spent the end of a week in F1 and enjoyed the neighbors, the tidy facilities, and the staff. Shame about the Yacht Club.

Update on the marina, 2013-04-19
Captain: , St. Joseph, MI (814)

I got this reply from the harbor master:

"The yacht club is closed however the marina is a separate entity. We can easily accommodate 6 ft drafts in most slips. However slips next to the walls are typically too shallow for sailboats."

Best Fuel Price in the Area, 2012-07-12
Captain: , Guntersville, AL (451)

Good power, good fuel prices, $3.79 as of 7/12/12, Concrete fixed docks. Very good approaches. Good access to Silversides Submarine Exhibit and beach boardwalk.

Yacht Club Gone, 2012-06-26
Captain: , Saugatuck, MI (54)

The Yacht Club filed bankruptcy in 2011 and is still closed. The marina is a separate business and is still going strong. Fuel and transient services still available. Very well protected harbor.

Great marina and excellent restaurant, 2012-04-05
Captain: , indiana (331)

Great helpful staff and nice clean facilities. The restaurant is very nice and has a great view from the patio.

Great Place!, 2011-07-28
Captain: , New Smyrna Beach, Fl. (200)

This is my 2nd year at Harbor Towne. Best marina on Lake Muskegan.

Good Stop-Over for Repairs, 2011-06-28
Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

Harbor Town Marina is good. The real appeal here is that Torrensons is very near and can handle any repairs needed. They are experts on rigging and sailboats in general.

Harbor Towne, 2011-03-12
Captain: , Macataw, MI (435)

Nice docks, walk to restaurant (Dockers or Dinghy, can't remember but you see it from the marina) good food. Easy walk to channel and sub tour, etc. Fuel dock is good, not much else available.

Nice Marina / Friendly Boaters, 2007-08-08
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (909)

Very well protected marina, in close proximity to both Muskegon Lake or Lake Michigan. Friendly staff and residents. Walking distance to good restaurants. Clean and modern facilities.
