Reviews for Harbour Town Yacht Basin
Great stop!, 2016-10-08
Captain: , Charleston, SC (10)

Two trips there so far and both were fantastic. Staff is excellent. Nothing cooler than coming into the Harbor past the restaurants and famous lighthouse. Enjoyed golf and tennis. Highly recommend this marina.

Simply Outstanding!, 2016-09-01
Captain: , Folly Beach, SC (90)

Stayed for several days this past late July. I sailed single-handed overnight from Folly Beach and my wife and boy drove down and met me the next day. When I arrived, hot and exhausted, I felt welcomed, immediately at ease and quickly relaxed. The service provided was terrific! Staff was friendly and outgoing, many have been working there 30 years, the "young guys" over ten years. The physical facilities are great, very protected. The amenaties are fantastic, many resteraunts and shops, a lighthouse to tour, miles of bike trails, complimentary shuttle to the beach club, CLEAN private shower rooms. My little boy and my wife had a terrific time, which speaks volumes! We will be back.......

5 Star Marina, 2016-08-06
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (618)

8/5/16 - Another great 4 day stay at this premier resort. Summer specials on dockage are a big hit with our 6 boat cruising group. Simply outstanding service from all aspects.

6/3-6/7/14- Plenty of water this visit- 10ft at low tide. They continue to set the standard for marina services.

6/15-6/16/13 - greeted with a great bottle of Pinot Noir, two staff attended to all of our docking requirements. This marina sets the standard for what to expect. After 2 weeks of cruising and paying a premium in dockage fees Harbour Town is the best value for your money. Great swimming pool, shopping, biking, and restaurants. A must stop.

Great Marina, you must check this one out!, 2016-06-29
Captain: , Havre De Grace MD (130)

Very senic and an awesome place. More than worth it to stop and check it out. The marina is surronded by shops and restaurants. It is very well protected. Many weekends there is live music to sit and enjoy.

Update: Just stopped in while transiting the East Coast. I have been here many times before and always enjoy everyt chance I get to stop back in. Don't miss this one!

wonderful stop, 2016-05-10
Captain: , Annapolis Md (10)

We loved this marina. Everyone was vey friendly and helpful. Nancy was great along with the rest of her staff. The dockhand, Jeff, was wonderful. The marina was beautiful and there was so much to do. Can't wait to come back. We are thinking about taking our boat there for the winter.

Wonderful off-season option..will return!, 2016-05-04
Captain: , NYC - Liberty Landing (182)

We sailed down from Charleston for a weekend away in the off-season and could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone we encountered at the marina/property were WONDERFUL. It was a bit on the pricy side, but you get what you pay for and all the pricing was completly transparent.

We will absolutely be back !!

Management response:
Thank you for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to have you and "Whomper" in the Resort. We will look forward to your next visit.
Nancy Cappelmann, Harbourmaster

Very Overpriced, 2016-02-17
Captain: , Jamestown, RI (80)

Dock staff was fine, but as soon as they hand you that bottle of cabernet you realize that this marina is about separating boaters from their money. If you are a transient, you have better options.

Management response:
Harbour Town Yacht Basin and The Sea Pines Resort strive to ensure great value for our guests by meticulously maintaining our property, providing exceptional amenities and services. The Hilton Head marina community understands there are different objectives for boaters and there are 11 local marinas, one of which should be there to meet everyone's expectations. We hope you will return to Hilton Head Island soon and enjoy this fantastic cruising area.

Awesome Marina, 2015-12-11
Captain: , Little River SC (395)

The only reason for the 4 stars is that they have the highest priced fuel in SC. Otherwise it is a great stop!

Update! Looks like the diesel/fuel prices are outstanding at this time. Just wanted to update and make it a 5 star. Keep listening to your customers. Good Job Harbour Town!

Simply the Best, 2015-11-24
Captain: , Springfield, VA (130)

From the time you arrive you'll know that you are entering a special marina. The Harbormaster Nancy will guide you into the basin and check in will be completed at your boat effortlessly. As you look around, you will see that you are surrounded by shops, restaurants, condos, golf courses and live oaks. The dock hand will provide you with a bottle of wine and a newspaper will be delivered daily. Enjoy!

Harbor Town Yacht Basin, 2015-11-06

Excellent facility , all services first class, great restaurants. Shopping, golf and well protected. Highly recommend! We will definitely return.

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy, 2015-10-24
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1134)

October 2015
Always a pleasure to stay here. Staff goes out of their way to make one feel welcome. Wonderful resort.

Others have described Harbour Town well. Resort fee easily paid for by 10% discounts at shops and restaurants around the complex. Very helpful and friendly dock hands.

Great destination stop, 2015-10-24
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6484)

Staff quick to answer both phone and Vhf. Harbor boat guided us into slip where dock staff took our lines, connected power. Yacht Basin has multiple restaurants, shops, other resort amenities.

This is a great destination stop, not as great for one or two night transients as provisioning is not close.

As good as it gets, 2015-10-20
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

Excellent docks, excellent facility, shops and restaurants abound. Came in on high tide and left on high, 15' water. Dockmaster advises 4' in some spots in basin on low tide. Dredging is to commence in 2 weeks. Rate is $2.50 foot plus $18.00 for 100 amp plug.

10-6-14 Stayed two nights absolutely great marina, well kept and great amneties. 76' is $3.00 foot and $25 for 100 amp plug plus $7 resort fee. Staff is great, 10-12 feet of water at low tide, everything you would expect.

10-16-15 Here again, dredging complete and lots of water, staff is terrrific and marina is terriffic. A must visit.

Excellent staff, 2015-10-10
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (175)

In our trip to South Carolina, we were in this marina for three month, the service and facilities are excellent, the staff are very knowledgeable. The whole area is full of beautiful bicycle trials. It is very nice marina, we'll be happy to visit it again.

Management response:
Capt. Bayardo:
It was our pleasure to have you in Harbour Town. We hope you return soon!
Hello to all aboard Jeannie.
Have a great fall,
Nancy

Great Marina, 2015-10-07
Captain: , Saint Simons Island, GA (115)

We stayed for four nights.
As usual, the staff is superb and attentive to detail. We listened to several very good musicians and had good food. Rented bikes and enjoyed seeing Sea Pines. Since it is was after Labor Day, the shuttle does not run so plan accordingly.

In the right place at the right time, 2015-08-07
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

03/14/15 - Called in here on a last minute whim. Given a dock on the far side of the basin, but was met by marina staff (after hours), who checked me in and offered a nice bottle of wine as a welcome gift. A bit pricey for a transient overnight.
Upon arrival, I really needed a pumpout and despite the fact that his shift was over, the attendant went out of his way to do the pumpout for me. IT WAS MUCH APPRECIATED.
The only downside to this marina was the horrible conditions in the head and shower. it was filthy.
i checked out early the next morning and at somepoint got an email asking about my experience at the facility.
i did voice my concern about the head and shower and to my suprise Nancy refunded our whole cost. I was amazed at such follow up and over the top resolution of my concerns.
We have stayed at Harbour Town's facilities at Liberty Landing Marina in NJ and always enjoyed it. this was my first experience with another of their facilities.
We will definitely be stopping here again. Thanks Nancy!

Depends on what you're looking for, 2015-06-15
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (201)

If you are looking for Hilton Head Island and Sea Pines Resort, and all the amenities and things to do that come with that, then this is a great destination. If you're looking for a transient slip on your way somewhere - and all you need is an easy slip, clean heads, showers, and maybe laundry - it's a bit pricey for those basics and the head/showers are a bit on the "small" side. Two head/shower units in a pretty small room (along with one washer/dryer). The head seemed to be shared with some of the restaurant staff. Be aware that there is an amenity fee and resort fee on top of the per foot dockage.

It is easy to access and easy to tie up - the docks float and they have about an 8 foot tidal range.

I give it 3 stars only because it appears you're paying more for the activities and amentities - the marina "basics" are pretty basic for the price. Again, it depends on what you're looking for.

Harbor Town - ditto on bad wifi, 2015-05-30
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3048)

Update:
Marina later found a problem with their network and advised me of a fix with their thanks.

Original post:
Wonderful Marina with amenities described by others. My one grip is the bad wifi. I could see four different hotspots but all of the, would not connect or give no throughput if finally connected. Unacceptable.
Otherwise a great stop.

Management response:
Captain Greg:
We have had all of the wifi transmitters tested and tweeked. Hopefully, this will take care of the poor service. Thank you for letting us know we had a real problem.
Safe travels to you and we hope you will visit again soon.
Nancy

What can I say, 2015-05-26
Captain: , Venice, Fl. (919)

Great, well protected harbor. Nancy and staff are fabulous! Your'e right in the middle of the resort with restaurants and shops right here. Several trolleys to go to different sections of the resort.

Harbour Town, 2015-05-15
Captain: , Massapequa,NY (1156)

Excellent 1st class marina. Fun spot to stay with many shops, restaurants and a trolley & bike trails to get around. Should be 5 stars, but for such a fancy marina the wi-fi is terrible, so only gave it 4

Excellent Choice, 2015-05-12
Captain: , Petoskey MI (240)

Ditto on most reviews. Easy to get into slip, as tide currents abated after entering the harbor. Easy to pull out the next day. this is important in this part of the ICW with the raging tidal flows. nice dockside restaurant with just the right music.

Great place!, 2015-05-07
Captain: , North Palm Beach, FL (450)

Cannot say enough about Harbortown in general and the marina in particular! Anne and I stay here for several day in the spring northbound and also in the fall southbound. The docks are first rate, good protection and a deep, protected harbor. Nancy, Cindy, Leslie and all the rest of the crew are professional, helpful, and a genuine pleasure to be around! Thank you!

5 star resort and a great marina, 2015-04-19
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (880)

Marina staff extremely polite and knowledgable about docking. Fuel dock convenient inside protected harbor. Cement floating docks good condition. Each boat is given a bottle of wine at check-in, besides a resort card entitling you to use the resort facilities and get some discounts. Lovely shops are overlooking marina, as well as 5 restaurants. Trolley takes you thru the resort to other venues. Laundry is honor system so no quarters needed. Area is small but works out fine. Bath areas nice. Good music entertainment at restaurants serenades the harbor. Good biking and rentals available. Always our first choice on Hilton Head.

April 2015 We once again made this a stop on our trip. Marina is still top notch in cleanliness, friendly, and helpful. It was exciting to view the first few days activities of the RBC Heritage golf tournament. We are not golfers, but really got caught up in the excitement. Will continure to return.

What a treat for the price!, 2015-04-15
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2709)

Update Apr 2015 - We continue to enjoy this place, the service, and the ambience.

We have paid far more for far, far less. This place is amazing. The prvious reviews have all the facts.

The only thing that was a slight downside is that many of the slips are very far from the bathrooms/showers. Other than that, we were thrilled with our 2-night stay here.

Harbour Town Y B, 2015-01-10
Captain: , Henderson Harbor, NY (431)

Great location to spend a few days or a few week. Easy walking to basic services. Very High Quality Marina Staff...floating concrete docks, and a very protected basin. I cant wait to go back for a few weeks.

Treat Yourself!, 2014-11-24
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2997)

This is a first class marina/resort and the perfect place to take a break and enjoy a few days or a week as you transient the ICW. It's also perfectly placed right at the inlet if you prefer to go outside. The dockhand was one of the most professional we have encountered. And once he had us secured he proceeded to give us an informative welcome packet complete with a terrific bottle of wine. Everything about the marina facilities are excellent and just steps away from the docks are a choice of restaurants and shops. There's golf, a playground, lots of wide sidewalks for the canine crew, even a beach to enjoy - if the weather had only been warmer. Do not miss a meal at the Topside Restaurant, it was one of the best we've recently had. Plan on being there at sunset for a spectacular view!

Harbormaster Nancy is an experienced boater who can give you tips on the inlet. We followed her advice and found it spot on. This is definitely a stand-out stop and we look forward to returning.

One of the Best Stops!, 2014-10-09
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (476)

Here for 2 nights on 9/19&20/14.
As good as we've seen. Lots to do and see within easy walk or bike ride. Very friendly and accommodating.
Great breakfast cafe on site.
A destination for us every time!
Thanks for the welcome gift- bottle of wine!

Good Stop over, 2014-10-03
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (995)

Oct 1, 2014
Another great visit. Great marina, great staff. Only two problems. 1). First time I've used the cable system and the picture was terrible. Having used ours the night before I know it wasn't our system. 2) this is not reflective of the marina or staff but while we were eating dinner and enjoying the beauty of the marina one of the permanent sport fish boats "Reel Patience" decided to turn on their spreader lights and flood the restaurant with very bright white light and just killed the ambiance of the area. We finished and left quickly.

July 22, 2014
Stopped in for fuel and a hamburger while in route to Charleston. You just can't beat the staff. You would have thought that we were staying here and had a big yacht.
Grabbed a hamburger to go at the restaurant at the fuel dock. Too pricy for even my taste. Fuel prices were very good.

Haven't been here in awhile. Service was outstanding, fuel pricey compared to all other stops coming down from Norfolk but it is a resort. Great restaurants. Fantastic Sunset. Would consider coming again.

A Benchmark Marina, 2014-06-11
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach (251)

When you are escorted to your slip and presented with a bottle of wine and check in at the slip, the captain knows that this is a special place. The ambiance of this marina is unique due to the shops and restaurants adjacent to the marina, plus live entertainment every evening ending around 10:00 pm. Access to rental bikes and wonderful biking and walking trails is a rare treat. No negatives!

Great Stop, 2014-06-11
Captain: , Beach Haven NJ (150)

Fine stop - easy tie up and registration - bottle of wine! - wonderful restaurant nearby (CQ'S). Just a delightful place to be on the way.

What a great Marina. Easy in and out. Professional dockhands and staff. We were met at our slip by a young, polite dockhand who for once actually listened to our instructions with the lines. After we tied up, he gave us a welcoming package with all the information on the marina, shops etc. and then handed us a bottle of Cabernet....that's a first for me.
The grounds are immaculate.
There are two individual bathrooms with showers, so it's very private. They are well kept, clean and up to date.
Lots to do around here. This is a place where you'd want to stay at least a week. Coming back for sure.

Best Overall Service and Accommodatios, 2014-02-11
Captain: , Hilton Head (20)

Great accommodations in conjunction with a very attentive staff creates an environment conducive to a pleasant experience. Well protected and yet convenient access to the outside. The liveaboards and staff are friendly and helpful. Easy access to dinning, shopping and night life.

Excellent Stopover But May Close For Dredging, 2013-11-10
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (970)

Wonderfully protected marina conveniently located near an inlet if you are voyaging outside.

Helpful staff. Good restaurants nearby and many walking and bike trails.

NOTE: We were informed that the marina will close soon for a major dredging project.

Beautiful Marina, 2013-10-29
Captain: , Manalapan, N (107)

One of the finest on the ICW, this marina is well protected in a basin surrounded by high end shops and condominiums. There are many stores and a number of fine restaurants. There is a small grocery store. If you're in this area, don't miss it.

Awesome Marina, 2013-10-22
Captain: , Westbrook (140)

Needed a part and Harbour Town was OK with receiving it and passing it to us as we did a fly by past the fuel dock. We couldn't stay as our 5ft draft was too much at this time, but Marina says they'll be dredging in the near future and when they do we'll be back thx to their selfless service and support!

Very Nice, 2013-09-09
Captain: , Beaufort, SC (70)

Just spent Labor Day Weekend here. Great facilities, very nice staff, good resturants. Met the inlaws here for the weekend (they rented a villa next to the marina). Plenty to do for all the family members from the youngest at 5 to the oldest (not mentioning age). Glad to hear dredging will start in Nov. The marina is well protected, but closed off to the breeze.

Picturesque and convenient, 2013-07-09
Captain: , Hilton Head Island, SC (377)

These folks are extremely courteous and professional. They will help with your dock lines if you are just coming to the fuel dock to pick up guests and will even send out a follow-me dinghy if you are headed for a slip.

While I've never spent the night at Harbour Town, I've visited several times to have lunch and do some shopping with my wife, and there is no charge for a few hour's dockage if you will be spending some money at the local shops and restaurants.

The only negative is that for a sailbiat that draws 6 feet, you can't transit the channel for at least an hour on either side of MLW. It can also get quite busy and crowded in the basin so you might find your maneuvering room somewhat limited.

Dredge to begin Nov 2013, 2013-06-18
Captain: , Savannah GA (2861)

I am scheduled to stay here July 4th for the fireworks. I spoke to the dockmaster and she said the dredging of the base will finally begin this November 2013.

First class in almost every way, 2013-06-06
Captain: , Key Largo (152)

Terrific Staff and warm welcome make harbor town among the best on the east coast . Add a couple of great restaurants (like CQ's) .. Great bike riding and of course golf .. A local airport and provisions and its almost perfect. High fuel prices (no matter what quantity) is the only drawback.

One of the Best, 2013-05-15
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL (955)

Update 5/13 - Just stayed here again and while not the cheapest place on the waterway, it is one of the very best. Worth it.

I almost never give a 5 star rating, but this one seriously deserves it. While it has eveything you need within the Sea Pines Resort facility, what really seperates Harbor Town is the customer service. We arrived late in the day, came to the fuel dock where two dockhands professionally handled to the lines, helped me while fueling the boat by lifting the hose so it didn't rub the deck, pumped us out, checked us in right there, gave us a nice bottle of wine, some materials on the marina and surrounding area, and then escorted us to our slip in a dingy, tied us up, power, water, cable and did it all with a smile on their face. Yes, it is a little more expensive but definatley worth it. First class!

A very welcome stop over, 2013-04-25
Captain: , lighthouse point (289)

Really great marina with excellent staff and plenty do and eat options.

Shoaling in the marina, 2013-03-20
Captain: , Galesville, MD (246)

We entered marina an hour before low tide. Marina staff said tides were running about a foot above normal. Had about 6.5 feet in the entrance, sticking closer to gas dock side, per advice from staff. Went into slip near the restaurant and had to drag our 5'10" keel through silt to get into the slip. Probed with boat hook and found there is at least a foot of very soft silt on the bottom.

First Class Service and Amenities, 2013-03-13
Captain: , St. Thomas, USVI (624)

This is a first-class, professional operation. From first contact to the casting off of our lines at departure, the staff and service was excellent. They remembered and used our name throughout the stay and provided great service in all aspects. It was more expensive to stay here than in many places, but the service combined with the beautiful and well-designed surrounding plantation, made this a winner. There are restaurants and shops right off the docks. We especially enjoyed the numerous bike trails and nature areas. The welcome bottle of wine didn%u2019t hurt either!

Very touristy & crowded, 2012-12-11
Captain: , St. John, VI (90)

This did not live up to the hype! Very touristy & crowded, facilities just so-so.

October trip south, 2012-11-17
Captain: , Red Bank , NJ (275)

Harbor Town is always a great place to stop. Wonderful facilities and restraurants - about $2.00 a ft for a slip in a very well protected cove. Fuel is expensive

Excellant marina, but shallow, 2012-11-09
Captain: , little river (269)

We stopped on 10-18-12. We came in at low tide and had to wait in the sound for 2.5 hours before we could enter the marina. We called ahead for reservations but nothing was said about the marina depth. It is not the entrance to the marina but inside the marina which is shalow. 2.5 hr past low tide we grounded at 4.6 ft. The staff are very friendly and provide the service you would ecpect from a five star marina. The bathrooms are clean, and well maintained, and for marina guests only. Dock are in great shape. This is a stop to spend several days. Rent bikes and see the island. Lots of shops, resturants, and live entertainment.

This was our 2nd stay there and it was even better than the first. A very beautiful and immaculately kept place. The sunsets are gorgeous and they have miles of well maintained shaded bike trails. The only drawback is having to leave.

1sr Class Marina, 2012-06-03
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (1135)

As you enter the channel, they have a boat that leads you to your slip. At the slip, the dockhand is great and gives you a bottle of wine! There are shops and several restaurants right at the marina. Including a beautiful lighthouse that you can climb up.
When you stay at the marina, ask for a Guest Amenity Card - it acts as a credit card allows access to the tennis courts, pool, golf course, fitness center and 10% off in the restaurants and shops.

Great Place, 2012-05-26
Captain: , Charleston (105)

Being in a slip entitles one to a guest ameneties card as if one were staying in the hotel. We took advantage of that to ride the trolley to the beach and had a great day.

A truely first class marina.

Good, but...., 2012-05-22
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1101)

This was a great stop, with great staff, in a pretty, though touristy setting marred only by the annoying, constant electric sanding and refinishing of the teak decks on the boat next to us. Another transient boater said they had been there four days and watched/heard the repairs the whole time. Who would have thought high end Harbour Town Yacht Basin was a working yard?

Pinot Grigio, 2012-05-15
Captain: , Grand Haven (470)

This is a great marina. We arrived with a storm on the way. The dock hand was quick securing our lines and giving us a bottle of wine. Several resturants on site to pick from.My wife enjoyed the shopping just a stones throw from the boat. This is a well protected harbor with great pool, hot tub,and showers.

WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?, 2012-05-06
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1533)

This marina has everything. Helpful courteous staff, beautiful grounds, restaurants, shuttle dock, etc. It is a little more expensive than most in the area, but you leave feeling it was worth the money.

Great location to explore the island. Great staff and great protection. Good restaurants nearby. Bike to beach and other places. Would recommend this marina ten out of ten times.

Fantastic Marina, 2012-04-22
Captain: , Charleston, SC (80)

Stopped in here for a long three day weekend. The staff here are very helpful and attentive. Of course you can't beat being right in the middle of Harbour Town. Daily newspaper delivery in the morning is a nice plus - as is the bottle of wine on arrival. There is a complimentary trolley that runs to several stops in Sea Pines although the trolley schedule is limited outside of the summer tourist season. If you get a chance - take the short walk (about 0.7 miles) or take the trolley to Truffles in Sea Pines Center for dinner. Absolutely great place to eat. We will definitely be back again - to Harbour Town and Truffles.

Excellent stop!, 2012-04-20
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (180)

We pulled into Harbour Town after a long day offshore and the dock hand helped us tie up and welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of wine. Live music was playing in the restaurants so we enjoyed relaxing in our cockpit, with the wine, listening to the guitar player. We were given a welcome packet and a discount card to many of the shops and restaurants. All the amenities of the Sea Pines Resort were available to us in the marina - pool, tennis, discounts on golf, beach, and nature area to name a few. We rented bicycles at the general store the next day and rode the 15 miles of beautiful, lowcountry bike paths. In addition to the wine, the marina also delivers a newspaper to the boat each morning and invites free use of the washer/dryer units. WiFi with a fast connection also came with the slip. With all the things to do, we felt we could have used a longer stay. At $2.00 a ft., we considered it a bargain and really felt like we were on vacation.

Very nice marina, first class., 2012-04-17
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (1476)

We were greeted on the dock by two dockhands to catch our lines, and then they brought the pump-out boat right over to the slip to take care of that chore. Did the sign-in paperwork right at the slip and were given a bottle of wine. They have two nice bathrooms with showers, and two stacked washer/dryer units (free to use). We'd arrived the day after the RBC Heritage golf tournament ended, so walked all around Harbour Town looking at the the temporary grandstands and pavilions that were in the process of being broken down. There are several restaurants ringing the marina, shopping too, so lots to keep you occupied if you're so inclined. Great bike paths throughout Sea Pines if you're looking for exercise. Very nice stop - classy place.

We needed fuel and the black and white lighthouse sure helped us find the place. Helpful dock hands and nice folks at the office. Seemed like a up scalle place to stay. We choose to anchor out accross the sound for the night.

Wonderful welcome, courteous staff, even a bottle of wine to greet us! Right in well decorated village. Didn't like th fish at crazy crab. Burned instead of seared salmon. Would definitely go to this marina again. Just not to the crazy crab.

A little pricey but well worth it. Excellent staff with dockhands meeting you by dinghy at your slip, helping you tie up and a bottle of wine. entire checkin right in your slip. I always stay here and will continue to do so.

Beautiful resort, but wine is not free, 2011-11-30
Captain: , Algonac, MI (1659)

This is a great harbor with all the amenities. 30 amp was $15/night, so we declined. We also received our "free" bottle of wine after the friendly dockhands helped us to tie up. When I went to the office to pay the bill, they had added a $7 "Amenities Fee".

6/31/11. great stop over. All the facilities one would need. Fairly good bottle of wine. Had lunch on the beach at a teki hut. Great service from the Dock Captain to the Dock hands. Very capable with the lines. enjoyed our stop over. A little pricey, but very nice.

Swanky Stop, 2011-11-21
Captain: , City Island New York (600)

Well maintained, dock hands really on the ball AND we got a bottle of wine along with our welcome kit! It is 100% resort, nice but sterile! We rented bikes and rode around the well maintained bike paths. Lots of golf and tennis if that is your thing. Did not visit the facilities as they were too far away. Good safe place to stay.

Almost overwhelming, 2011-11-14
Captain: , Denver NC (329)

This is an over the top marina. I didn't get the bottle of wine though! haha Anyways, The dock hands were very professional. My boat was not 100% due to bad iac on the motor. I did my best getting to the dock I was assigned to and the dock hands did a great job "catching me" not letting me hit anything and getting me tied in safely. Nice!

Very picture perfect including a bottle of wine when you dock. All the activities you can think of to keep you fit. We did not find the food all that good at the marina but no gripes with the ice cream shop in the rear of the marina stores.

Nice Marine, 2011-10-31

Best value in the area for 2/foot, 2011-10-29
Captain: , Sunset Beach, NC (1124)

I got a bottle of wine from the dock hand just after I pumped out! Best SWAG on the ICW. All that more than paid for the extra quarter / foot I paid. No current, great dock hands. Only problem was it was overrun with tourists and the local Rip-mart was extra Rippy.

Great stop for the Fourth!, 2011-07-04
Captain: , CHARLESTON (330)

Spent the holiday weekend - so much available right here at marina. The dockhand was fabulous. Lead us to our slip in a boston whaler and handled our lines perfectly. No current but do need to watch tide coming in the harbor.Would highly reccommend.

My favorite marina, 2011-03-13
Captain: , Nashville, TN (290)

marina is right in the middle of the action. Good restaurants and bars with live music in sight of the boat, marina personnel very friendly and helpful, shuttle to many Sea Pines resort locations including a very nice beach, golf courses and shops. Resort living right on my boat.We spent a week and enjoyed every minute
Floating concrete docks in great condition

Like Annapolis or Newport, gotta stop at least once to enjoy all that there is to offer. Following posts, kind of says it all. Would be very easy to stay a week and NEVER see all that there is to do on Hilton Head Island.

Captain: , Ottawa, Canada (363)

The amenities, docks and staff are very good. There are lots of restaurants and other services near by and lots of walking trails, golf, tennis, biking. We decided to stay a little longer to enjoy the day - well worth the stop if you are in the area.

Beautiful place, shallow entrance, only two bathrooms, 2011-01-10
Captain: , Wilson, NY (432)

This is a gorgeous place. Very well portected. We draw 5'8" and were told we shouldn't enter at low tide. We were getting there late in the day and the staff said if we were after 5 they'd just leave the welcome bag at the slip (it wouldn't have been more than 15 minutes after 5). They did give us some good wine in the welcome bag. We were here 1/2/11 and so very few transients around. We wondered how the bathroom situation would be when it's busy as we only found two bathrooms. Each had a toilet and a shower, very nicely appointed but no hooks to hang things.

At least stop for a night, 2010-12-09
Captain: , Wilmington Deleware (330)

We stopped here for 2 nights, spring of 2010 and loved it. We could sit on the aft and listen to live music while watching the people walk along the boardwalk. We climbed to the top of the lighthouse and snapped a picture of our boat in the harbor. Had a great lunch at Crazy Crab and a wonderful dinner at Topside at the Quarter Deck. The staff were all very professional and friendly and the pool refreshing and heated. We will stop here again.

Good place to stay if you have enough time to enjoy it, 2010-11-06
Captain: , Lansdale, PA (330)

We arrived late in the afternoon, had to wait to come into the marina because the fuel dock was too busy. The staff seemed stressed out. By the time we got to our slip, all of the shops were closed. They look nice - we would come back if we had time to enjoy the property. We ate at Quarterdeck, the food was typical bar food, just okay.

And don't forget the free bottle of wine on check in....., 2010-06-11

Great stop, 2010-05-19
Captain: , Dallas, TX (726)

Very nice marina, has a resort atmosphere. There are several choices of restaurants and live music above the dock. Extensive grocery on site but take a cart from the dock with you to carry your items, it would be quite a walk with a couple of bags of ice and a case of water. Dock attendant was exceptional, it was near closing time and he did the pumpout while I was manning the high speed (20gpm he said) diesel pump. He then took a small boat and led us to the slip and help tie up. Dont know if it is like this all the time or just at closing.
Would definately stop again.
