Reviews for Harborwalk Marina
Nice stop - Nice amenities, 2017-06-22
Captain: , Beaumont, TX (310)

Nice stop off with great amenities. Pool / Playground / Pool bar are all a very nice touch. The restaurant is great but a little on the pricey side. I'd recommend making reservations if your there on a weekend. Community is still in development and I believe they have a nice thing working. Theres not any stores/shops near by that you can walk to. We didn't try Uber but that might be an option if you need to get ashore for supplies/provisions.

skinny water entrance from iCW, 2017-03-23
Captain: , houston, tx (403)

Two attempts to enter with 5.5FT draft unsuccessful on 3/23/17 with south wind. Not a "north wind blowing the water out" issue, just shallow. Registered 4.5 ft. Would not reccomend until they dredge or enter only at high tide and hope the tide matches when you want to leave.

great stop, 2016-06-19
Captain: , Port Arthur, Tx (526)

stayed 1 night floating docks good shape. friendly staff. restaurant the best a little pricey but worth it. pool was great with bar at pool side. would stay here again. water a little skinny at entrance north wind could be issue 5' 6" when we entered

Great Service, 2015-12-24
Captain: , Galvestion (13)

Great staff. Always helpful. Docks are well built and well maintained. Floyd's restaurant is great. The food is good as well as the service. The bar service below the restaurant is usually pretty bad. The ship store has great breakfast sandwiches and free coffee. Other than the service at the bar Harborwalk is a wonderful marina. One other big drawback is the lack of other nearby restaurants, stores or yacht services.

9/23/2015 Pricey but very nice, 2015-09-23
Captain: , Kemah, TX (234)

They were dredging the entrance when we came in and made it a bit confusing with depths no lower than 6.5' on the reds when we came in. Store has a deli, and we enjoyed the pool with no one out there. Restaurant was not opened (Wednesday). Overall, we would stay again.

Happening Place!, 2015-08-02
Captain: , Rockport TX (112)

Approach was a little skinny, but never less than 6'. 8-10' once you get inside the harbor.

Showed up on a Saturday and the partiers were in full force. The transient docks are right near the pools and there is a pool bar so you can get your fancy drink fix. Floyd's restaurant offers excellent fresh seafood and has a very nice balcony overlooking the water.

Docks look brand new. Plenty of transient room. Nice synthetic teak dock feels good on your tootsies. Fuel dock and pump out is around the next bend so we skipped it. Nice marina store. Nice restrooms.

Just a great place to stop overall.

Harborwalk Marina, 2015-07-19
Captain: , Galveston (30)

Been here for a year. Even though the harbor master position is a fluid one, the marina is well maintained and responsive.

Home for Awhile, 2015-03-12
Captain: , Kemah, Tx. (145)

We've been here since July. Great staff and facilities. Restrooms, showers, and laundry at the docks has been a big plus. We're paying $342.00/month + elec. A few friendly live aboards here. Overall, I rate it the best marina we have stayed in so far. The only negative is that it is far from stores, so a car is necessary.

Nobody home ..., 2014-01-29
Captain: , San Marcos, TX (865)

Tried to spend a night here in late Nov 2013 in route to LA. Used VHF and phone for multiple calls over several hours, even called the restaurant next door for help. No one at the marina answered.

Hidden Gem, 2013-08-04
Captain: , Corpus Christi (240)

We had a long stay here to allow friends and relatives to visit. It was a geat place with a pool. During the week we usually had the pool to ourselves.

Floyds was only open on the weekends but the food was great.

The staff was great, very helpful every time we needed anything.

Our Home Port, 2013-04-24
Captain: , Galveston, Texas (30)

We have been at Harborwalk for 6 years and just returned from a 2,000 mile cruise to and up the Tenn-Tom. The facilities here are the BEST we have ever experienced, Clean, Comfortable, Friendly.

New ownership and the Restaurant re-opening in May, 2013 will continue to add to your enjoyment of the property.

A little shallow getting in but has not been a problem for us.

2 years at Harborwalk, 2012-10-18
Captain: , Athens, AL (641)

We've been at HW for 2 years and have really enjoyed our stay. The marina and real estate development were in bankruptcy when we arrived but has been bought now by Legends which owns other high-end boating developments. We're leaving in a couple of weeks for new travels so can't predict what the new owners will do. We've never had trouble coming and going with our 4-foot draft Gulfstar trawler but there have been some recent reports of trouble with 6-foot drafts. Once inside, you can rely on about a 10-foot depth. The pool area is a great attraction with separate kids and adult pools, hot tub, and the Tiki Bar/food is open on weekends, live entertainment some weekends during the summer. The clubhouse/restaurant is currently closed for pending changes. There are 8 transient docks right by the pool, bikes for slip renters/transients, nice and clean restrooms/showers/laundry for each dock, a decent ships store, and our favorite thing - security and privacy. Negatives are distance from any stores/vendors (several miles) and no courtesy car for transients. We've been in many marinas over the years (managed one ourselves) and this is one of the nicest we've experienced. If you have access to transportation or want to rent a car, Galveston is a great tourist town and Houston offers all of the big-city attractions, NASA, etc. There are some good boatyards on Galveston Island and the Clear Lake/Kemah area is about 35 miles inland by car or water with about any specialty marine service you could possibly need.

Shallow approach!, 2012-08-07
Captain: , corpus christi, texas (10)

High class facility but with a 6 foot draft we had to plow through a foot to a foot and a half of soft mud through the channel in. The waterway guide says 8 foot approach but barge traffic has quickly filled it in. Aug 6, 2012. S/Y Integrity.

Great Marina, 2011-12-27
Captain: , Stuart, FL (427)

We came in after 7:00 PM and were gone by 6:30 AM, so I can't attest to the amenities, but the marina appears to be first rate.

Not shown on the chart is a phase 2 portion of the marina, in which docks have not been added as of 12/27/11. The open area is deep and would be perfect for an overnight anchorage, if transient slips aren't available (or you want to save the dock fees).

First class facilities!, 2011-06-04
Captain: , Nassau Bay (185)

Transient dockage on Memorial Day Weekend was $100/night. A bit high, but the facilities are worth it. Wonderful pools, one of which is adult only, must be 21 to enter! Pool bar is very nice, fine dining restaurant was very good and the docks and property were very clean. Friendly people, too! The entrance channel was just dredged in May of 2011, but coming in on a tide with a south wind screaming (should have been a lot of water), there was only 4 1/2 feet of water in spots under my boat that draws 4 feet. Would hate to see what was left when a norther blows all the water out. Be cautious, it's worth it!

Great place to stay but far from amenities, 2010-08-24
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

Saw 5.5 ft in the entrance channel. Great pool and a fair restuarant on site. The only thing wrong with it is that there is no grocery store etc nearby. In fact, we couldn't get a taxi to come to the marina.

A great place to stay near Galveston!, 2009-06-30
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (175)

When we were there in june of 09, the channel was a bit shallow, but we made it in and out without bumping. We draw 5'7". The slips were a flat rate of $75.00 per night, including power, use of the pool and access to the restaurant. The pool was awesome. Great bar at the pool. Great meal at the restaurant, if a bit pricey.

Shallow Water, 2009-06-17
Captain: , Kentucky (190)

Entrance channel into Marina was very shallow, can't draw more than 5 feet. Power 50 amp only, be sure to have an adaptor, we don't and had no power for the night. Rate was $1.63 foot

Very nice, 2009-05-16
Captain: , Pensacola (88)

This is one of the nicest placees I've found on the ICW. Free wifi and the best fuel (gas) prices in the area.

New and very nice marina, 2007-06-17
Captain: , Houston, TX (1409)

Very nice stop. Complete facilities, brand new. Ship's store, fuel, pool, restaurant and bar on site, although they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Black rub strips on docks can leave a nasty mark on your boat; fender wisely!
