Reviews for Harbortown Marina
Great Lunch, 2016-11-22
Captain: , Dallas (192)

Stopped by for lunch, they were busy but got us squeezed in and the food and service was terrific.
Would definately stay here overnight. On our way back up the ICW

About the WiFi, 2016-11-17
Captain: , Cape Vincent (20)

I'm giving 4 starts since I have not moved into the marina yet, but I wanted to update folks regarding the WiFi, shich has received negative reviews here.

I called the marina 11/15/2016 after they offered me a slip starting January 2017. They just added a new WiFi service. There are now 2 services - the free service is OK for email and the like. For a fee, you can get the new service which they say will support video streaming. $6.00/day, $45.00/month, I don't recall the weekly rate.

I will write a review of the overall experience after I've moved in. I will be a long term tenant.

12 month stay, 2016-06-15
Captain: , Denver (20)

People are great. Very friendly. Ammenities are very nice. The biggest issue is internet. Intermittant and forget it when the slips are full.
On the bright side, overall well maintained and clean.

We stayed for 1 year but plan on moving to a more modern marina.

Be aware if you get the long term rate and move sooner, they will ding you for the higher rate. Only fair I guess.

Stayed a month, 2016-06-11
Captain: , Sarasota (195)

Nice docks, Great people! Nice landslide shower facilities. Laundry is new and large capacity but kind of expensive.
Pump out when you get here if you are staying any length of time no pump out at the slips.

Nice Marina though noisy at night, 2016-04-04
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1234)

The marina has evrything you need-good electric, good water, pool, laundry and fuel. The dock are older and fairly high even for our lagoon cat. There is an outdoor restaurant with live music which you hear quite well. The internet has improved from dismal to OK.

Nice marina, noisy neighbour, 2016-04-01
Captain: , Bergen (40)

Stayed overnight to visit family. Marina staff guided us in on VHF and helped us tie up the boat. Excellent service from service minded staff. A bit of current in the marina, so be prepared for that.
The downside was the railroad track that passed just a couple of hundred meters from the marina. The train passed three times during the night, honking it's horn continously. Woke everyone on board up every time.

New ownership, 2016-02-24
Captain: , florida (10)

I hear ownership has changed to Safe Harbor with same name for Harbortown Marina. No idea if this will affect quality. Things seem ok.

top notch Marina, 2016-02-24
Captain: , Racine, WI (515)

Gave good directions to fuel dock, couple of guys there to catch lines as well as to cast off. Walked us over to dock to spend couple of nights so we knew exactly where we were going. They were there to help with lines. Good facilities and short walk to groceries and drug store.

Nice marina with helpful dock hands, 2016-01-13
Captain: , Hingham, MA (1079)

The dock hands were very patient with us as we took at least 5 minutes to dock (we prefer to stern in our sailboat). The marina is very nice and clean. The restaraunt has good food. Laundry machines and dryers are all new. Cruisers lounge has computers and wifi. Easy walk to grocery store. Marine store a short drive away (or you can walk - about 2 miles).

Customer service, 2015-12-01
Captain: , Bucksport, ME (160)

As a late arrival one year I was put on their fuel dock for the night. When I got up in the morning I was aground, with just a 5 feet draft, even after telling them my draft and that I would be leaving early in the AM. I have stopped here several times for diesel. The dock hands have yet to take a line unless I explicitly request them to do so. In the future I guess I'll be going to the city Marina.

Top notch staff and clean along with liveaboard friendly., 2015-10-30
Captain: , Hampton, VA (150)

Just moved here from Hampton VA and having checked it out last year before traveling down the ICW found the high rating well deserved. Clean, gated, friendly staff, nice laundry facility, decent restaurant and with Whitaker Marine here you have a top notch repair facility. ALong with a boat yard for the DIY's. Haven't found a negative yet. We are on the floating dock so not sure how the fixed docks rank.

Best place for full time cruisers, 2015-09-12
Captain: , Fort Pierce, Florida (369)

Great place to park your vessel for an extended stay. Facilities are super and staff fantastic! Fees are reasonable and they love folks who live on their boats! Also Whiticar Marine is on site and does great work at reasonalbe prices.

Harbortown Marina, 2015-08-07
Captain: , Cape Cod (101)

I stayed here for 3 weeks prior to heading to the Bahamas. I was here in January and the service was excellent. I needed to have my boat hauled (23 beam cat) and they were very accomodating. The restaurant is good and fun. Publix is a short walk. The bathrooms are clean, updated and either heated or a/c. The only reason I give them a 4 star is because I am not crazy about fixed piers. The staff were great.

Great place to stop, 2015-06-11
Captain: , Virginia Beach, Virginia (84)

We stopped in on our way north. Lucked out with tides going both directions - 2-3 knots ebb/flow. Marina staff was great with help tying up, explaining facilities. Very nice restaurant near our berth. Bathrooms/showers superb. Highly recommend!

Best Marina / Boatyard on ICW, 2015-06-05
Captain: , Toronto (40)

My Wife and I have traveled the ICW several times enroute to the Bahamas from Toronto. We have sampled the wares of many Marinas and Yards along the way. Without doubt , Rose from Harbourtown and Lori from Whiticars Boat Yard have been over the top in making us feel at home. We are in the process of trouble shooting a generator issue. We have been usuing the services of Whiticars along with Shearwater to do the work. The communication and service, yes I said service!!, has been outstanding so much so we decided to use the Marina / Yard to store our 50 foot Jeanneau for the summer. So rare these days to find folks who actually take pride in what they do.
Everything from the courtesy dock to the hull cleaning and onsite restaurant was 5 Star. Highly reccomend this Marina and the folks at Whiticars.

Harbortown Marina, 2015-06-03
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (506)

Facilities are great here. Very nice bar/restaurant. Helpful staff. If you drive a 45ft. power boat and back in you're all set. For a sailboat going in bow first its really tough with the short narrow docks. The dock barely came to amidships on my 34 ft. sailboat.
There is a whole page of rules governing boats in storage. No DIY work here unless the boat is moved to the appropriate work area. Any contractors must be approved before work begins.

The Dog's Opinion, 2015-05-18
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (156)

This is a favorite marina from a people's perspective. Great facilities, services, people, etc.
It's also a favorite of Ryder, our dog. Every morning at 0700 staff and guests take their dogs to a fenced trailer boat area for a play date. The area is available all day for canine frolic. Otherwise, dogs must be leashed. Poop bag stations abound.
A short dinghy ride takes you to a small uninhabited and uninhibited island, ideal for running and swimming.
This past Christmas, Ray, the Ops manager, gave each marina dog a gift bag of goodies.
Harbortown is a great marina if you cruise with a dog.
So Harbortown is a

March April 2015 Visiit, 2015-04-15
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (640)

Stayed 3 weeks to get anchor windlass rebuilt. Nearby Whitacare marine was too busy but helpful getting us reliable contractor who could and did the job. All facilities great at marina. Clean and neat -- trash dumped daily. All signs of professionally run business. Wifi among the best in marinas we've stayed. They did have an electric storm that knocked it out for a couple days, but they worked hard to get it up. Repeaters are in locations you can get wifi from inside boat. Dock master and hands knowledgeable and professional. Restaurant on site is great. And best of all it is the best long rate rates I've seen in the area. We were under $35/day for a 3 week stay on 43' boat. Hurrah.

Disappointment, 2015-04-11
Captain: , Cruising no home port (14)

We stayed at Harbortown primarily to get diesel, have dinner and do our laundry (at night). 2 out of the three were fine. The laundry was a disaster: the change machine didn't work; the washer didn't work taking $1.50 with no return.; and the dryer took 2 hours to somewhat dry the clothes ($6.00). In other words it took 3 to 4 hours to do one load of laundry (and $10.25). Fortunately, a lady from BC had gone to Publix to get change and shared; and when that wasn't enough to dry our clothes, a baartender at the restauirant (great meal and tremendous waitstaff) raided his tip jar to make change for the dryer.
That morning we asked the dock guys about getting some of our laundry money back but they said that we would have to wait and go to the business office. We left.

The facilities were good, the restaurant was great and fun, the dock guys were competent and helpful but the laundry was a disaster.

A Great Place to Stay, 2015-01-19
Captain: , Bath, NC (225)

The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities are excellent, beautiful bathrooms and laundry machine that worked the way they should. The restaurant prepared the fish and prime rip perfectly, and the brownie desert was excellent.

Big Marina with most amenities, 2014-11-21
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Stopped to visit friends so did not use the facilities which are reportly very nice. I was suprised that there was no dockside pump out or pump out boat as there are many live aboards. The dock staff are 5 stars willing to do what ever to assist you. No courtsey vehicle but some stores "Publix" close by.

Has it all, 2014-07-19
Captain: , Daytona Beach (40)

Prices right. Staff friendly and helpful. Fuel services, parts and stores close.

Tide dependent, 2014-07-15
Captain: , Port Canaveral (77)

The Marina is nice, the restaurant and bar are convenient, but the enrty and exit from the slips is tide dependent if you draw more than 6 feet. The West Marine store across the street is closing soon so that convenience will be gone also.

Very Nice Place, 2014-07-02
Captain: , Perry, Kansas (317)

Third stay here. Nice pool, very nice facility. Super showers and restrooms and laundry. Great restaurant on site. Publix, CVS and West Marine about 1 mile away, great walk but took taxi back with loads of stuff, $4.75. Would definitely stay again. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Our first choice for Ft. Pierce, 2014-04-07
Captain: , Oriental, NC (60)

Quite, new restrooms, new laundry. Publix 400 yards away. Easy walk to town if you are there on Saturday there is a awesome farmers market. We needed help with our Westerbeke engine, mechanic and shop 100 yards away.

Back again, 2014-03-21
Captain: , Millsboro, DE (60)

We are in our 6th year of staying at Harbortown Marina and would and have recommended this to our cruising friends. Great place, safe, secure and great service by the entire staff. Worth the money to stay. Close to Publix, CVS and for now West marine

Great Marina - Accomodating people, 2014-03-03
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

Stayed here 2 weeks 2 years ago & liked it. We returned this year to find we like it even more. The restaurant is great, the showers & restrooms have been upgraded & are great. The laundry has been completely renovated with new machines & more. They have a wonderful boaters lounge & fitness room, outdoor covered picnic tables & grills. The docks have been upgraded & are fine (the fingers were shakey 2 years ago). Security is excelent, grocery, CVS, & other restaurants are nearby. We plan to return whenever in the area.

Best Staff & Marina in Fort Pierce, 2014-01-10
Captain: , tangier (40)

Weather turned bad, needed to duck into a marina for the night. They found us a place to tie up for the night. the night ended up to be 4 days. This will be our stop from here on when visiting Ft. Pierce. The restaurant on site is also great. From the Dock Master to the Cleaning staff wonderful people..

A+ Marina and Restaurant, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (20)

What a great marina. Staff greeted us with helping hands and smiles. The grounds were super clean. The pool looked very inviting but the outside temps were too cold for us to try it out. The entire marina felt very secure with a staffed gate at its entrance and locked gates onto every dock. The laundry room had LG stackable machines that looked brand new. It even had a gorgeous granite top folding table. A grocery store and West Marine was within a 15 minute walking distance. Lastly, the restaurant was wonderful. Lobster bites apps, delicious clam chowder and fish and chips were excellent. The Rum drink of the day helped wash it down. We liked it all so much, we're staying another night. P.S. They also have a fitness center and what appeared to be a great lounge area with large screen tv, lots of books and computers with free wifi.

On the fuel dock, 2013-12-07
Captain: , Sault Ste Marie, MI (240)

The marina was full so we were alllowed to tie up to the end of the fuel dock; powerr was available. Internet was as described in other reviews, but we have come to expect poor or non exixtant connectivity in every marina we have encountered. The fuel dock was quite a bit higher than the boat making for awkward getting on and off, but we felt fortunate to be able to stay. The restrooms are top nothch, individulal, clean and roomy. The restaurant was very convenient for us and the food was reasonable and good. We would make it a point to stay here again.

Great marina, BUT, 2013-12-04
Captain: , Subtle, KY (30)

I've stopped here several times over the past few years. Service is nice, good social life. West Marine, Publix and good pizza within walking distance. However, there are some negatives as well. First of all, internet access is attrocious. You can get better access in 3rd world countries. The network drops out often and when you can connect, it is s-l-o-o-o-w. If internet is important to you, don't stop at Harbortown. Laundry facilties have recently undergone renovation. Large front loader washers, BUT very very expensive. Don't count on getting your laundry done, $2.75 for the washers and $3.00 for the driers. We may go back to the city marina when it is completed.

Peter
s/v Now or Never!

Very Nice but some downsides, 2013-11-16
Captain: , Colchester (418)

Nice docks, great tie up. We were on the face dock - very easy access. We could not connect any of our devices to the wifi in the evening but the following morning managed a very slow connection. The dock master said they got that 'complaint' sometimes.
Trains seemed to be passing all night and we had interrupted sleep. They continued the following morning till we left.
Make no mistake, this place has great facilities but I won't visit again due to the noise.

Excellent Marina, 2013-11-09
Captain: , Detroit (647)

They put alot of effort into keeping this marina up-to-date. They have just redone the bathrooms and they are excellent. Staff is very helpful. West Marine and Publix are just a short walk away.

Home Sweet Home, 2013-10-16
Captain: , Ft. Pierce, Fl (265)

I keep my boat here year round. The facilities are great and the people make you feel at home. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the bar is stocked. A great place to stop for lunch or to tie off for a while.

No fuel for you, 2013-07-14
Captain: , Orange Park FL (10)

Stopped here to fuel up (sailboat) and received a 'telling off' for not calling them on the radio first (not that they were busy but that apparently wasn't the point). Their low flow pump was still too quick for our filler and we eventually gave up having recieved more attitude than help. Not a fan.

Great marina and getting better, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Apollo Beach, FL (928)

We stopped for fuel and a good night's rest before going out into the ocean for an overnight sail up the coast. I second all the positive comments given in the other reviews. Facility and staff are great and the BoatUS discounts for fuel and docking are a bonus. They just put in a manned security gate at the entrance to the marina. We got stopped walking back in after going for the pizza at Brooklyn's. It was fantastic and the staff there was very friendly. I don't know if we will be back in this area again, but I would certainly use this marina if in the area.

Harbortown Marina, 2013-06-03
Captain: , Merritt Island, FL (346)

Arrived Sunday evening for fuel and a slip. The dockmaster could not have been nicer; we got fuel and squared away for the evening with no problem. Good docks, power, and water. There is a tide and a current on the face dock but its easily managed. The star attraction for this marina is the easy and boat friendly fuel dock.

Nice Marina, 2013-05-11
Captain: , Palm Coast, Florida (785)

We stayed here one night after a Bahama crossing. Nice restrooms & showers. The pool was nice. We ate at the marina restaurant and it was good with music on Fridays and Saturdays. Finger piers were ok for our 32 ft sailboat with low freeboard, but some boaters had trouble with bow in tie ups.

Adequate marina, 2013-05-07
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (880)

Lots of current. High fixed docks. ok access to fuel dock. Showers/bath average at best. No services nearby. Restaurant onsight ok. Pool looks nice, we did not use. Downown has reputation of high crime. This marina would have been better if gated.

Good, and getting even better., 2013-05-03
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (185)

The staff has always been nice, and the facilities were quite adequate. Over the past couple of years they've really spent some money on nice improvements to the place. As of 5/1/13 all new piers, new showers (nice), much improved laundry room (~9 front-load machines). On-site Harbor Cove Restaurant consistently serves good food. West Marine and grocery a short walk away. If you love pizza, be sure to try A Touch Of Brooklyn next to West Marine.

Use Whiticar for Repairs at Harbortown, 2013-04-22
Captain: , Roseland, NJ (312)

Our autopilot failed during passage from Bahamas and we decided to go to Harbortown to seek repair. On premises is Whiticar which does just about everything. Electrician took no time determining the problem and once the part was in, no time for the repair.

Great, full service stop, 2013-03-20
Captain: , Hartfield (281)

We came in to Harbortown following a 12 hour trip from West End. The crew stayed overtime to help us in and made sure we were completely comfortable before they left.

We had bought the boat from here 14 years ago and the marina has changed dramatically, but only for the better. The clean bathrooms are being upgraded to glamorous. The laundry is the nicest, most functional laundry I have used anywhere in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.

There is a good Publix and pharmacy within walking distance.

Now there is a very accommodating onsite repair service with adjacent boatyard, Whitticar, and we are hoping to have a one day turnaround on a pump replacemnt if the part comes in today.

Super spot to stop, 2013-03-13
Captain: , St. Thomas, USVI (624)

January 2013: Great location for a stop over. There is a small restaurant on the dock and a busy boat yard right on site. While my husband with bad knees would not have considered the Publix and West Marine within walking distance, I was able to make it just fine, although it is a long walk just to get out of the marina and on to the main road where you have to cross a light with train tracks, then go up a fairly steep hill where you cross a very busy street with lots of traffic to get to the shopping center across that street. The West Marine was large and well stocked and the Publix had everything I needed. There were also a few small restaurants in that shopping center. The staff at the marina was very competent, helpful and friendly. We were on an outside dock which was a breeze to get in and out of %u2013 perfect for an overnight.

Scarey little finger piers!, 2013-01-05
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (476)

Marina staff is terrific -- polite, capable, very helpful -- location is great -- very protected and convenient -- but skip that second beer at the on-sight Tiki Bar if you plan on getting back to your boat safely! The finger piers are VERY short (we had to lift our dog off the boat as even the added gates we have were nowhere near the pier) and they are VERY, VERY narrow, with no handholds available (the pilings were chopped off pretty much at finger pier level.)
Free "High-Speed Internet" is pretty close to dial-up speed.

Great stop!, 2013-01-01
Captain: , Oriental (270)

We left our boat here while staying with family in Vero Shores for Christmas. We heard a funny noise in our engine/drive shaft and had it checked out and fixed up. Ben, a mechanic and experienced boat know it all, lives aboard in the marina. He fit us right into his work schedule and provided above and beyond service. He got a diver on the spot and then a quick haul out asap to diagnose our problems, ordered parts, and installed the new onein a timely fashion not to delay our plans.

Then we were back on the boat in the marina for a few days before heading south and really enjoyed all the people there: staff and live aboards. It is quite an active place. The food at the restaurant dockside is great! and the bands were pretty good too. The amenities are nice with heated pool, lounge + tv, work out room with lots of equipment, clean bathroms/showers, and loaner bikes. They are construction another/new set of showers and redoing the laundry facilities so none available during our stay.

Cannot say enough about how nice all of the dockmasters and dockhands were; they are really customer oriented and do their jobs willingly and pleasantly. We ended up paying just about a $1/foot because they are kind about giving you the best rate and charged us a prorated monthly fee after we were there more than 8 days (the break even point). We were in a slip just inside the facedock which was new wood and newly sealed and hosed down every morning to keep it clean of bird poop. Many manetee in the river there and LOTS of birds and fish in the water.

Good Stop & easy, 2012-11-01
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

Wood fixed docks as we were placed on face dock. 2.00 foot. Easy in & out, 10' of water at mid tide on approach and at dock. 100 amp power available. Staf was cordial and helpful.

GREAT REPAIR SERVICES ON SITE, 2012-10-07
Captain: , Tampa, Florida (223)

We pulled up for some repairs by onsite Whiticar that turned out to take longer than expected, through no fault of Whiticar. The entire Whiticar management and staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. Joe, the manager, was great to work with. He and staffmember Howie went out of their way to ensure good service and our complete satisfaction. We ended up holding over at the marina for two nights, and the marina staff were also very helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant and the onsite bar. Friendly and fun atmosphere. West Marine and Publix are a manageable walk from the marina.

Nice Marina, Lousy Restaurant, 2012-08-16
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (20)

The marina staff is very friendly and helpful. Most of the docks have been recently upgraded.

We held a boating in lunch get together there last week. Absolutely the worst fish sandwich I have ever had. The fish was cod, cooked to death.

Great marina to spend some time, 2012-06-24
Captain: , Midway,GA (261)

The dock crew were very helpful docking. They did all the hook-ups on the dock. Restrooms and showers are good size and very clean. The captains lounge is very well kept along with the exersize room which is next door. Grocery about one half mile as well as West Marine. I would most certainly stay here again

All the amenities, 2012-05-08
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

This big marina has all the amenities and is a good stop, especially if you are coming from Great Sale Cay to Ft. Pierce Inlet. Has BoatUS discounts AND if you "like them" on Facebook, you'll get a free night! Easy walk to Publix, CVS, West Marina -- kind of far from the town center, which we never saw.

A super great marina, 2012-04-11
Captain: , Point Marina, Whortonsville, NC (506)

I stayed here for two days last month with an engine problem. I tried to get into the City marina but they did not have a slip for a 6' draft boat. They said to stop back next year(?).
Harbortown Marina was great. Very clean with good prices and great friendly staff and a very good bar/resturant on site.

Didn't like wobbly floating dock, friendly & helpful dock assistant was helpful to a newby. Restaraunt was ok. Better places downtown, but take a cab!. West Marine a few blocks away. Overall I would stay here again

Local sailboaters refer to this marina as a "high tide" marina. We draw 6.5' and were advised to enter channel at medium to high tide or we would bump in route to fuel dock. Entered at high tide, no problem. Took a slip for one night. Depth meter read 5.8' and had to plow into slip. Low tide you are resting on bottom. No problem getting out the next morning at high tide.

Friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance from Publix and West Marine. This is second stay and will stay here next time in area.

Very nice people reasonable, we trailered down from Pa. great boat ramps near by Stan Blum free about two miles. We made arrangements to store our trucks and trailers here. Safe fenced in parking. Great restuarant and pool right at the marina. Publix grocery store and West marine very close.
D.D.

No Breakfast at restaurant, 2012-02-02
Captain: , Eastport, MD (491)

But other than that - nice place to spend the weekend before being hauled for storage. We happened to be in a slip near the fuel dock which is a bit of a walk to the laundry, but on the other hand the head/shower and restaurant were right nearby.

And the dock staff were quick to recommend a local restaurant for breakfast which turned out to be quite good.

Has just about everything you need, 2012-01-27
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

Very accommodating personnel, great food and service at the restaurant, exercise room and TV lounge, free WIFI, The bathrooms are clean and cleaned daily, a little outdated, but cleanliness is key. Walking distance to Publix, West Marine and CVS and two nice launch ramps nearby. We are storing our trailer and truck there while we cruise, fee is currently $170.00 per month. The docks are fixed so if your boat is low ask for the %u201CA%u201D docks they are a bit lower. The drawback is it is a long walk to the restaurant and the facilities, but that gives you a bit of exercise! We were concerned that we were so close to the causeway, but at night it was fairly quiet and we had no problem sleeping. There is an active fright rail nearby as well and they love to toot their horn, If your windows are closed and the A/C is on, again no problem.

Good Food at Marina Resturaunt, recently changed hands and nice people at Dock and Resturaunt. WEST MARINE AND PUBLIX within easy walking distance .

like birds and manetee?, 2012-01-04
Captain: , Dorset, VT (357)

Docks are new but fixed. dockhands are pleasent. We draw 6'4" and they we able to put us on the face dock so we could get out easily in the morning.

But the best thing are the birds! There is a roost near their fuel dock, at sundown it fills with White Ibis, little blue herons, snowy egrets, brown pelicans, great blue herons, tricolor herons... and meanwhile the manetees were swimming nearby

Recent Stay, 2011-12-14
Captain: , Mt Pleasant (30)

Stopped over while delivering a 68' Hatteras...We had some engine issues and the marina staff were most helpful in assisting us. The folks at Whiticar North are on site as well and equally helpful. Good resturant on site & marine supply chain, super market, drug store w/i walking distance. Marina is neat and clean.

New owners, 2011-11-13
Captain: , Buffalo (1144)

The new owners are working hard to bring customers back. This is a great location. No bridges to Ft Pierce inlet, at least 8 ft depth in the marina, Publix and West Marine close buy, and major boat repair on site. The only down side is the fixed wooden docks with short finger piers. With better floating docks this would be 5 star.

Great mechanical service, 2011-06-21
Captain: , New bedford (122)

Towed in to Habortown Marina after engine shut down 22 miles out in Gulf Stream, and low winds. Long tow, but we enjoyed listening to Bruins win Stanley Cup on XM radio. We tied up at fuel dock at 2 AM, and walked over to the onsite service center (Whitakers) at 7:30. The problem was diagnosed (crack in fuel drain fitting) and remedied by 9:30 AM, and we were refueled and back out to sea by 11. Excellent service and reasonable rates. The marina was in a bit of flux, as tanks were being replaced, and the small reataurant and bar was closed for the week.

Great Stop, 2011-05-17
Captain: , Madison, Ohio (400)

Easy stop when returning from the Bahamas right inside the inlet. This marina is close to customs, Publix, and West Marine. Clean and friendly,Tiki Bar,laundry, fuel and pumpout.

Just what I needed, 2011-03-31
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (215)

Easy access from offshore, easy clearing in from the Bahamas. I would rate the staff 5 stars, the facilities are clean and Publix and West Marine are walkable. I didn't hear the train, must have been very tired but it isn't like the bridges, sirens and train in Ft. Lauderdale. Definately will return.

great place to lay over, 2011-03-10
Captain: , Lost Lake (20)

I just spent a month at Harbortown and can't say enough good things about the place. There is room for catamarans and big boats the restrooms are always clean. They are one of the only marinas in the area that has enough draft for keel boats.

Docks need help, 2011-03-05
Captain: , Nashville, TN (290)

Spent one night there and the docks are not in good shape. Loose boards and cleats, watch for nails. The half finger moved more than my boat. Great location and bar/restaurant at head of dock. Will probably return but I wish they would fix the docks

Below par but friendly, 2011-02-26
Captain: , Portsmouth, NH, USA (518)

Close to West Marine and Groceries.
A short taxi drive away to clear in at the local airport.

Not all that its cracked up to be, 2011-02-22
Captain: , Cobbs creek va (193)

The WiFi, a third party system by Tritons Portal, makes dial-up appear rapid and requires entry of all your ident information just to use it. Bikes are offered buy never available. The restaurant does have a very tasty early bird special for $13 which includes desert

Enjoyed the convenience and feel., 2011-01-26
Captain: , Daytona Beach, FL (533)

I've stopped over for a single night here twice. The facilites are adequate and I enjoyed the restuarant/bar with the live entertainment.

Nice Marina, 2011-01-26
Captain: , North Carolina (344)

We have spent the last five weeks here while we did some work on the boat. The staff is great. Restrooms and showers clean, lounge is nice, covered picnic tables, excellent restaurant. West Marine & Publix within walking distance. We have enjoyed our stay here.

Waaay Overpriced, 2011-01-06
Captain: , Oriental, NC (136)

Docks are 'rolly hills' due to storm damage / rotted off pilings. Nails and screws sticking up everywhere...be sure to pick your feet up. Trains go by within 100 yards every 30 minutes at night.

Liveaboard Friendly, 2011-01-05
Captain: , Portsmouth, NH (66)

Positives:
Protected w/breakwater and small mangroves
Easy access to ICW and Atlantic
Washers, dryers and clean bathrooms/showers
Nice covered picnic area, 6 tables and fixed charcoal grills to use
Cruisers lounge with limited cable tv, vhs, wifi computer, book exchange
Free mail service and use of bocci game, horseshoe pits
Small store for last minute stuff
West Marine and Publix could be walked to (use backpack to carry stuff back about 3/4 mile)
A couple of free cruiser bikes to get around
Storage yard, travel lift, Yanmar service
Dockmaster very helpful, dock hands a bit iffy depending who...
Larger slips are 50amp, bring own splitter for 30amp
Restaurant/bar next to docks

Negatives:
Fixed docks with high pilings and very narrow and short fingers
Main docks can be pretty uneven (hills and valleys)
Free wifi is not very powerful to cover marina
Too much cigarette smoke in restaurant/bar

staff exceptional, 2010-12-12
Captain: , Washington DC (152)

the Harbortown Marina staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, in particular the boat yard staff.

great marina, 2010-12-05
Captain: , alexandria, va (40)

a bit pricey at 2.00 per foot considering no pumpout or fuel due to construction but facilities were top notch, well maintained, clean and staff friendly.

it's well protected from wind and current as it's surrounded by a tall berm with mangroves growing on it. west marine, restaurants, grocery, liquor store 5 minute walk.

Pretty good marina, 2010-12-03
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (1236)

Rough in spots but a good stop, 2010-06-11
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (998)

Given the services available on site or nearby, this is a good provisioning, repair stop. Restaurant is good with a good variety of good foods. H dock a bit rough but ok. Dock hand was friendly, competent and knowledgable. People watching great and the pool is a plus. Mariners facilities quite adequate. Entry approach 7.5 mwl

Good spot, 2009-05-04
