Reviews for Harbor View Marina
Great place to stay, 2017-08-09
Captain: , Muskegon (60)

Stayed one night and were very pleased with the marina. The docks were very nice and staff was there to help with docking. The facilities are modern and clean. The pool and hot tub were a big draw (the pool was pretty cold but the hot tub was great). The marina seemed to consist mostly of seasonal slip holders and it was very quiet on a weekday evening. Lots of great restaurants within a short walk. Bierkamp Market was a great place to pick up some groceries and craft beer.

Nothing new to add, but wanted to confirm everything is still great. After 3 months on the boat away from our FL home, we were really missing a pool and spa and it was nice. On weekends, expect it to be a bit more crowded, of course.

excellent stop has it all, 2015-08-26

Pool, hot tub, fuel, all normal services, town 3 blocks away. Facilities are in a park like setting and very clean. Friendly professional staff. Beautiful large club house. Can taxi to 8 screen movie theatre, and some big box stores. Taxi $3.50 first mile then $2.50 per mile. Cost $10 to go to movies, Meyer,Home Depot,Applebee's . Many good restaurants right in town. The Italian Restaurant on Main Street is great, best Lazania I have ever had. Nice beach, good biking and walking very safe setting.

Lots of amenities and well kept, 2015-07-13

Pool, jacuzzi, club-like surroundings. Another good beach. State park is just north of town with expansive beach and dunes. Easy to bike to if you're reasonably fit. The last coal-fired ferry, The Badger, crosses to Wisconsin from here.

Great facility in great location, 2015-06-30

This marina is well run. Two dock hands were at our slip to help us in. Impressive marina building with clean & roomy restrooms/showers. Library, sitting area, coffee 24/7, pool, weather screen. Marina within a few blocks of downtown, many restaurants & shopping. Groceries were OK, but I wouldn't provision here unless you got a ride to Wal-Mart. Across from park with weekend concerts, walking paths, sculptures & history of Ludington. Great place to watch Badger come in (very unusual method to turn 180 degrees in the harbor.)

Quick visit + Revisit, 2011-07-27
Captain: , Chicago, IL, USA (840)

Snuck in for fuel and food. Nice clean facilities and grounds. Walking distance to several great restaurants and a micro-brewery.
20 July, 2011: Stopped to spend the night this time and glad we did. Great harbor, great people, fantastic views, and only a couple of blocks from all the downtown attractions. Started at the fuel dock where a pump-out is free with fuel purchase. Clear directions to assigned slip and staff waiting to catch lines. Slip fee gives you access to all the facilities including hot tub and pool, laundry facility, large showers and bathroom, kitchenette area with 24 hour coffee, air conditioned great room with overstuffed chairs and couches, plus a little store.
Town offers everything a tourist could ask for and a boater needs.
I changed my rating to five stars because I feel this harbor has it all.

Good little private marina, 2010-09-04
Captain: , Collierville TN (977)

Take reservations. good docks, good showers, easy walk into town for good food alternatives. The last coal burning passenger ship comes in and parks right down streem. Watch him drop anchor adn pivot to the dock. Just hope is is down wind of you, which he usually is.

Harbor View Ludington, 2009-06-07
Captain: , Clear Lake, TX (694)

Very nIce facilities with great view of the Badger coming and going. Has pool & is close to town. More expensive than nearby municipal marina.

Front Row Seats to SS Badger, 2007-08-08
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1234)

If you want to see the Badger come into Ludington, rotate in the basin using one of its bow anchors and back down to the ferry landing, this is the place to be. Floating docks are a nice change from the usual fixed docks. Facilities are modern and clean. Town is in walking distance. The West Marine used to be across the street but is now gone - but remains listed here.
