Reviews for Harbor Square Marina
Tried but it didn't work for us, 2016-02-21
Captain: , Colchester VT (380)

The owner had tried to help us get in for an overnight but we did not stay here because a spot that we thought we were going to go in to just wasn't there - unless we messed up on its location. The area is very small and we were lucky to not have gotten stuck. The slip we thought we were supposed to go in to had no water in it and a cement pier! We did not see another place that could accomodate us so we did not stay. To be fair - the owner was MORE than helpful in trying to set up a spot for us but was not going to be there when we arrived so perhaps our report is not totally accurate. Sorry!

The Last Old Florida Marina, 2013-07-18
Captain: , Eau Gallie, FL (339)

Simple, basic, but complete.
Wonderful people who work and live here, who's character and trust harken back 50 years, when it wasn't all about the money. Good Karma at this place, if you can get in.

Great group of folks at the marina, 2012-02-15
Captain: , Gulf Shores Alabama (748)

Duncan, the owner, is as nice and honest a guy that you would want to meet. It is not a fancy marina, but has the basics of what you would need which I would include protected docks and honest management. I called Duncan on his cell phone hours before we arrived and he was out running errands. When I asked him if he had oil-change supplies he said no, but he would pick them up for me at Walmart. We did not stay overnight, we were waiting for the bridge to open at 6:00. Please note that the bridge is closed from 4:30 to 6 for rush hour and they do not negotiate.

Great Hurricane hole, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Point Marina, Whortonsville, NC (506)

This marina is a dug bowl with the spoils piled up around it so that the only thing above the berm is your mast. The wind blows right over the top.
I just left my boat here for three months. I negotiated a rate that was less than anything else I could find in the area.
There is not much here except a nice head and shower and a laundry. There is not much within walking distance either. Still, it is a good reasonably priced stopover and a good place to stash your boat for a while. It is close to the ocean, though you have a lock and one bridge between you and the Atlantic.
The dockmaster is sometimes hard to find, but otherwise very helpful.
A couple of corrections: The marina does have good city water with very good pressure, not well water as I had first reported.
Also the reviewer below must have been at Harbor Town Marina since Harbor Square Marina does not have fuel.

Great Value, 2011-01-13
Captain: , Wilson, NY (432)

If you don't mind dealing with pilings along the dock or short finger docks this is a great place to stop. Everything is basic but in pretty good repair. We were tied along the long dock outside. It is fairly new, and had good power. Might be bad on a busy weekend, but as this is a canal, I don't think there'd be wakes. We saw one boat go by. Owner extremely nice. Also has used hardware if you need something.

Harbor Square Marina, 2010-12-18
Captain: , Wickford, RI (1637)

Good place to stop as their diesel is quite inexpensive. Docks are getting a little shabby, but the place is well protected from wind and wakes.
An earlier review mentioned transient docks on the channel. We didn't see that and were given a dock in the basin.

Captain Andrew Newton Grand Rivers, KY, 2010-04-14
Captain: , Foley, AL (985)

A basic marina with 70' of transient space in the channel just before the marina entrance. Good wind protection. The dockmaster Duncan (cell 321-446-5176) was very helpfull. Marina property and surrounding area, is good for walking pets. It's next to the oldest cemetary on Merritt Island. Ducan provided a loaner truck so we could go to the Kennedy Space Center for the whole day and then a trip to Publix.
We had a nice lunch at the Cozy Corner Cafe just south of the overpass 1/4 mile. Good food and cheap ,breakfast and lunch service only.

Convenient, spartan facility. Helpful staff. Reasonable rates
