Reviews for Harbor Island Marina
can i give a 0 star?, 2017-05-10

Came in with the intent of fueling and spending the night. Considering how many boats come into the bay in the afternoon and need fuel and dockage, you would think........ But after multiple radio calls we docked up and i walked around to find 2 guys talking and me bothering them. I needed about 200gallons. Price was high, pump was slower then a bad gas station, the dock guy was very little help. I stopped pumping at 47gallons because it was so slow and moved on not even considering asking about dockage.Boats were lining up, obviously not knowing then left. They are missing a lot of transient business and thats too bad.

Convenient to the Tiki Bar and Charles St Bistro., 2016-06-24

June 11, 2016, stayed one night. A bare bones marina with power and water. That's it. A secured tie up in Solomon's. power is 3 phase 208 so heads up if you have 240 compressors. Didn't see any bathroom so unkn as to those facitlities.

Older but adequate. Friendly staff., 2015-09-14

I recently stayed here when we encounted fuel related problems during a boat delivery. The facilies are older but seem to be functioning. The ower was extremely accomodating. He moved the boat to a bulk head so that contractors could work on it. Came back at 10pm to turn the fuel pumps on so we could fill up for an early morning departure.

Friendly, helpful staff and great service. Fuel pumps were OOC during our visit. Needed the marina to lift my mizzen for mast step repair by another contractor who's boat is moored at the marina and they were very accomodating and supportive. Earlier comments about the heads is true, they are older, but they are clean and the water hot. Restaurant at the marina Charles Street Brasserie was great, we ate there for dinner twice and breakfast once- both food and service were superb. I'd definitely come back!

Very basic marina, 2015-09-07

The owner Lenny does not return phone calls even after speaking to him directly. The heads are rough to put it mildley. Electric is erratic. The only positive part of this marina (boatyard is more accurate) is the great group of liveaboards that are here.

Ok for overnight, 2014-08-27

Docks in need of some repair, bathrooms need updating but were clean, a decent BBQ place across the street next to the Tiki bar.
Gas and diesel at resonable prices. 1.75 a foot per night.

8/14-17/2013. Tied up here for 4 nights. Blowin' like crazy from the NW. Passengers weren't feelin' the love sailing....Anyway, nice place, Easy to get to everything (restaurant wise). Groceries were about a mile down the road. Easy in /out. Staff is friendly and easy going. Heads are dated but functional (above Calypso Bar).

Great place to visit, 2013-06-12

Easy in, easy out, very reasonable overnight rate and electric fee. Walk to the Tiki Bar and restaurants. Great place to visit overnight.

Barely Basic, 2013-05-16
Captain: , Wickford, RI (550)

Easy in & out but showers & bath are barely adequate. Dock is right in front of loud reastraunt/bar. No laundry despite claim to have one. Only one decent restraunt within walking distance.

Biased here, love them..., 2012-11-01

Lenny is a great guy. Just a cool marina with nice people. I had clogged fuel line and was towed in. Lenny sent me a mechanic who changed my filter and bled my line, got me running. $25 bucks! Believe that? He lets me anchor, come to the gas dock to tie up all day and charge my batteries and fill with water for $6.00! (I have a dog so it's wonderful to be able to be at dock. I leave my anchor with a bouy and go grab it when I'm putting out for the night...

Nothing great here, bathrooms are a bit dicey. But the friendly folk balance it out...Plus it's next to the Tiki Bar!!! Short sta

Won't come back, 2012-05-21

When I tie up, I want some quiet. BIG Mistake! Boom Boom Boom till last call at 2AM. You want to know about the shower facilities, picture a tub and shower in a run-down bar bathroom. Worst marina on the Bay.

We have been to Solomon%u2019s island before for a trawler fest. While we were there we decided if ever the chance we would come back. A friend of ours recommended Harbor Island Marina so we went there. Over all it was a very nice part of the island, however you are a ways from the main town. It is at least 2 miles grocery store, and main stores but worth the trip. There is no marina office and has a very laid back attitude. All the fishermen doc just to the east and it is fun to watch those guys dock in record speed. We found out from the locals there is a contest every year on who can dock the fastest. They get lined up stern in, and then rev it up in reverse until they are about 2 feet from the dock wall. When there they gun it forward and come to a complete stop. Great fun to watch but something I would never do with my boat. The marina has fixed piers and when we were there they experience a lager tide, we suspect due to flooding. The club at the end of the docks got going on weeknights and was loud enough for us to %u201Cenjoy%u201D on the boat, as were the festive patrons. Unfortunately we were at the fuel dock and I got the impression not many stay more than a night or two. Over all the price was high and there might be a nicer facility for the money in the area.

Nice Overnight, 2011-03-27
Captain: , Deltaville (20)

We pulled into Harbor Island Marina when I was moving my new boat Rock Creek to Deltaville. The dockmaster was helpful and help us land on the dock, and fill up the boat. They have food right on site. It appears they are doing a lot of repairs to their docks. It was a nice place and I would stop again.

Very nice place to eat, 2010-07-28

nice and simple, reasonable dockage. Restaurant and bar on the property, walking distance to town.
