Reviews for Hancock Marina and Lodge, MWR
Nice Stop great distance from everything, 2016-07-05

New docks with water and electricity. Price is right. Hancock Yacht Club on the hill is very friendly and will help most new arrivals. No one answers the phone or hail. When approching stay close to the Greens all the way from the River, it will get skinny if you dont do a straight in approach. No Wi Fi and it is about 3 miles to anything.

unplanned layover, 2015-11-10

We didn't plan on stopping here but sure are glad we did. We are in the process of moving our boat south from the Chesapeake to the Gulf coast for a pcs. We always try to stay at military facilities when we can. Hancock Marina is certainly one of the better ones we have visited. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They understand the difficulty of arranging paperwork and such from a moving boat and from a distance. Can't beat the rates, and the docks are superb. The surrounding area is beutiful with plenty to explorer. Shore side facilities are sparse but adequate. I definitely reccomend this as a stopping place for military ID holders.

Very quiet secure place off the beaten track, 2014-12-08

On our first trip south in our new boat we knew we wanted to spend some time around the Cherry Point area where my son is stationed. So I contacted the number on the website for the Hancock Creek Marina and the person who answered put me n touch with the dockmaster Owen Smith. He was great.

The docks here have been redone. There is water and 50A power at the slips. Because of our size we tied up at te T-head of B dock and plugged in. The dockmaster was here to greet us.

We were here through several waves of storms that passed through and the marina is well protected. There is no wake and the wind has charged our batteriesbut otherwise not been an issue even though there are gale warnings up.

They have no fuel but do have a portable pumpout. We did not use the showeres opting to shower onboard instead of takingan icy walk.

There is a yacht club here and visitors are welcome to join in events.

Cell service is limited although we are connected on ATT and there is no wifi. Plenty of room for walking the dog. There is an Enterprise Rental Car office in Havelock but they have limited hours and you will need a car or bike to get around the base. There is a fitness facility and pool not far from the marina.

If you have military privileges and are in the area it is a good place to stay especially in bad weather.

Military or Mil Retired only but decent for a day or two, 2012-10-19

Great staff, great happy hour from locals at BYOB tiki bar. Facility is undergoing major re-fit so will be closed soon for extended period.
Craig Beavers is still dockmaster and good people. Would stop again on north bound trip but a car is really a must-have.

Not open to the public, 2011-04-29

This marina is operated by Marine Corps Community Services and is located on a military installation. There are no public facilities or fuel.

Excellent military marina, 2010-12-28
Captain: , Indianapolis (56)

The staff will go to extra efforts to see that you're happy. The dockmaster, Craig Beavers, is retired USMC and has a wealth of information to provide. The only problem with this marina is it is remote and you need a vehicle to get around.

The other issue is that the office is at the other marina (Pelican Point) so it makes it hard to do business with anyone other than the dockmaster.

This is a shining example of military helping military. I plan to get a permanent slip here when we return from the Bahamas.

Low rating, cant get info to pull in, 2010-06-06

Tried, tried and tried to get a hold of someone....left messages, given different numbers, but no one calls back.....
