Operation (seasonal or year-round)
Year round

Additional info: Resort is open year round, but be aware that the cyclone season in North Queensland is December - April. Apart from the increased likelihood of tropical storms, weather is generally light Northerlies, hot and humid. Best season is winter, June - September, with mostly constant SE trade winds that can blow 25kts for days on end. So many great anchorages around here it doesn't matter.

Take care the airport's runway is in line with the runway. Sailboats with tall masts must stay to one side.

Hamilton Island Marina, 2015-06-25

very helpful staff, meet you at the entrance then guide you to a berth and take your lines. best to phone first and make a booking then call on ch68 when just off the entrance. Full facilities, power, water, showers, toilets, rubbish bins, plus free use of round the island shuttle bus, wifi signal from the boat was poor, had to go to marina office to get a signal on my set up. Yacht club has fabulous sunset bar plus a great restaurant but there are all kind of eateries, bars, shops etc along Main Street. The airport handles jet flights direct from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns, very handy for crew changes.

A great spot to stop off on the way to the outer reef or whitehaven beach. We stop in for a nice fresh hot breakfast at the bakery. Although its a conveiniant stop off, the prices can tend to be 20 to 60% higher than on the mainland.
Have use of all resort facilities for free.
be sure to contact the marina via radio before entering the marina enterance, they will guide you to a suitable pen to dock, or guide to to where you want to go.
depending on the length of your stop over, and if you are a charter vessel or private boat, charges can apply for marina use.

Great stop in the Whitsundays, 2008-07-04

This is a great place to reprovision groceries and get fuel and water. Enjoy a night out at one of the many restaurants. Access to the resort (pools, etc) is included in the slip fee.
