Reviews for Guntersville Marina
Outstanding Service & Good Location, 2017-09-13
Captain: , Johns Creek Georgia (180)

We stayed at Guntersville Marina as transients for three nights over the past Labor Day weekend. The people are very friendly, helpful and professional. All the prices are competitive or below market. It is the first marina off the river and very convenient. They have a nice van for a courtesy car and all the major restaurants plus shopping, are only 10 minutes away. We had water in our starboard gas tank on Labor Day and Alan the owner, keeps a mechanic on duty all the time. Paul was able to remove the water and get our engine started in less than 24 hours. It was done at a very fair price and I would have paid much more at my home marina in Chattanooga. We will return on our next trip to Guntersville.

A great marina with free courtesy car, 2017-03-09

Courtesy car
$1.00 ft. Transient
Convenient to numerous stores and quant downtown Guntersville

Allan is the dockmaster , he met us at the fuel dock the first day we pulled in. We pumped out and moved over to our transient slip. Waiting at the slip was Allan again!
Very helpful folks here. We intended to stay 2 or 3 days , ended staying a month! Ask for the monthly transient rate, very reasonable.
Courtesy car is in very good shape with working a/c. This is a good one. Call Denise on ch.16 .

Great stop on the way on the Tennessee River., 2016-01-23

Conveinent to the river. Great courteous staff. Courtesy car and full service. Docks are well maintained and safe. In January they stayed after hours and waited for us so we could get fuel. This will always be our stop going north or south.

Great Place!, 2015-11-04
Captain: , Port of Decatur, Alabama (12)

We called the Marina via radio and quickly received a response. The manager Alan was waiting on the transit dock and helped us in, explained where everything was located and gave us keys to a nice van if needed. We will be back for sure!

A Friendly, Helpful Marina, 2015-10-28
Captain: , Grand Rivers, KY (150)

Guntersville Marina is nicely situated on Signal Point near to many local amenities. They readily accommodated a 50 foot boat in a nice covered slip. Allen and Nicole are helpful and friendly.

They helped us with a simple maintenance issue at no charge.

We'll be back to this very welcoming place.

Good place to stop, 2015-06-22
Captain: , Kingston Tennessee (121)

Just be carefull getting in. Take a heading of 151 degrees after the bridge if heading east. Then look for the red and green that is out in the channel into the marina. Beware of the floating white danger floats to your port. Stay clear of them. It was very hot when we were there and Allen gave us a covered slip. Yay! However, it was a busy weekend and we rock and rolled till dark. Get the car and eat at Wintzels.

Good Stop. , 2014-10-21

A great place to layover, 2014-09-08
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

This is a great marina to spend a few days. The manager, Alan, is extremely helpful. The facilities are clean and the liveaboards are very friendly. We needed a covered slip to do some self maintenance so this worked well for us. We used the courtesy car to get to Walmart and to downtown. You could also use a dinghy to get across the inlet to downtown, landing at the free city dock. Downtown is a vibrant and restored town well worth a wander. JaMoka coffee shop on Gunter Ave makes the best espresso in this part of the country and cafe 336 serves a great lunch.

A Nice Marina, 2014-04-04

Captain: , Satellite Beach, Fl. (125)

Wonderful owners, very accommodating and helpful. Some of the nicest folks we've ever met in all our boating years. We highly recommend this facility if you are in the area, you will not regret it. The facilities are well maintained and very clean.

Free laundry, 2013-10-10
Captain: , Chattanooga, TN (554)

We were pleasently surprised to find a nice air conditioned laundry and best of all it was free. Showers were very clean.
My only concern here is there is no breakwater for the transient docks you are totally exposed to all but easterly winds. Could be very lumpy.
All personnel were very nice and helpful.

Chattanooga trip, 2013-09-06
Captain: , Bayhill marina (40)

My husband and I recently took our first long trip - Guntersville Marina was our first stop on our way to Chattanooga. The folks were very helpful and made sure we had what we needed. very pleasant stay

Accommodating, friendly, 2013-08-20
Captain: , Madisonville (10)

After calling 5 different marinas in the area this was the only marina to help me provision as I was on my way to the Gulf Coast. A curtesy vehicle was offered even though I did not stay the night. Fuel docks are easy in and out. Staff is friendly and knowledgable.

Very cordial, friendly live aboard community., 2013-07-24
Captain: , Pinnacle, NC, USA (1422)

Our transient slip was covered. Staff talked us in through the breakwater & met us at the dock to make sure we had everything we needed. Facilities are well thought out w/little but important details like clothes hooks, seating and floor matts by each shower -- not marble glitz but functional and clean. Many offers to take us anywhere, including dinner in town across the estuary.

Great People, Great Service, 2013-05-24
Captain: , Ten Mile, TN (10)

Our stay at Guntersville Marina was very pleasant. The slips and facilities were in great repair and of good quality. The Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great stop if you are in the area.

Oh, and Nicole says she needs a raise!

Family owned, providing excellent customer service, 2013-04-14
Captain: , Sale Creek, TN (20)

My sailboat needed a safe harbor while awaiting repairs. Alan Alred, manager, stood in the rain to help dock my crippled boat. While we were there, we were treated to a much needed and appreciated courtesy car, a clean laundry room with pool table, and Paul, their mechanic. Everyone we dealt with was top notch! I highly recommend this marina.

excellent transient stop, 2012-10-20
Captain: , Mesa AZ (1609)

Your stay here will be greatly rewarded. We left our boat under cover for 2 months to travel home. Very secure. Alan, the dock master, is extremely accommodating. The owners live on site. Docks are wide and everything works! Laundry is large. Courtesy car to town is always available. Several good restaurants by dingy. Stop at the Rock House (by car) for best meal.

Great Marina, 2012-10-01
Captain: , Wilsonville, AL (474)

Decided to stay here for a month. Ended up being a year. Buddy Alred goes the extra mile to make this a great marina. Had several repairs performed here and prices were very reasonable and work was done well.

Very good marina, 2012-07-28
Captain: , Nashville, TN (115)

A nice marina for a day or two or longer. If you'll be there more than a few days, they will make you a month rate, which may save you money, even if you won't be there that long.
There is no store there or in walking distance but there is a courtesy pickup truck available. Facilities are clean and the showers are great! The outer transient slips are exposed to constant wave action and wind from the lake, just make sure you are well secured. Depth at the slips is about 14 feet. Pay close attention to the approach; there is a ring of hazard buoys which mark a very shallow spot which you must go around if your draft is over 12 inches.
Nice, friendly staff. I would definitely go back.

Great transient stop, 2012-07-10
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (245)

We were there a few days, found space under a covered slip, and were very satisfied with the service. The owners are in the process of rennovating the marina - very large with a lot of work to do - and are very attentive to your needs.
Definitely worth a stop.
