Reviews for Guilford Yacht Club
One of the best!!!!!, 2015-09-08
Captain: , Branford ,CT (180)

This is one of the nicest places on Long Island sound.John the Dockmaster and the dock staff are a cut above as are the docks and bathrooms. The channel in is narrow but very well marked do not stray out of it!
Still one of the best stops on the sound!

met the need, 2015-07-15

Needed a place ot switch crew. Read other reviews and decided to stop here. All other info written is accurate. We came in at dead low and never say below 7 foot and we draw 5 foot. Could not get to pump out dock due to tide and rubbed getting into slip. WIFI would not work. A little frustratng due to the $3.50 / ft price ( a little pricey considering there are no extra ammenities)
That said is is a first class marina as far as docks and appearance. Very helpful in getting tide up. No other activites availabe. Town close by but better to drive. Many options to reprovision etc. as well as resturants and shops. Close access to I 95.
Would not hesitate to stop here again.
Wouldnt hestittie to stop again

Quiet and Friendly Yacht Club, 2012-09-26
Captain: , Huntington (455)

We were looking for a nice place to go about 4 hours (going slow) from Huntington as our first leg to the east end of LI. We read the reviews and thought we would give Guilford YC a try. We were concerned about the approach as chart indicates a small channel surrounded by rocks and very thin water. The channel however is very well marked and John assured me that it was 5.5 feet at low tide (we draw 4.5 and left at low tide without incident).

Guilford YC is a modern and well equipped yacht club. It has floating dock, pool, tennis courts and a quick food place. It was a Monday so it was very quiet at the club and not much going into town or the marina which is about half a mile from the club. We ate the Moorings and it was fine (Stone House is closed on Mondays). The YC is in the midst of a very large and beautiful marsh but there was little in the way of bugs. Everyone on the dock was extremely welcoming. If you want to get away from it all but have the comfort of modern amenities, then Guilford is the place.

Welcoming staff, beautifully kept docks and grounds, easy walk to town. Not a lot of water, but channel dredged yearly and carefully marked.

John the Dockmaster went above and beyond to get us a slip then making us feel right at home when we got there. He called every slip owner to see if their slip was avaliable for us - once he was able to confirm the slip - he called us back and let us know. Then once we were there, he told us about the restaurants intown. Then realized it was a Monday and called the restaurants to make sure they were open on a Monday!!! That is above and beyond service! Add to that, the club is beautiful and there's a great pool! Love it here.

Great docks...Wonderful people!, 2011-09-02
Captain: , St. Ignace, Michigan (236)

We just went through Irene with this marina, and despite a 6-7 foot storm surge, the new concrete floating docks provided all our 37 ft trawler needed to come through without a problem. Dock master John is very competent and genial, as are the nice young men and women who make up the staff. hurricane seems to have knocked out the nearby restaurants, but town is less than a mile away.

Guilford train station is essentially across the street.

Beautiful facility, great help, 2011-07-24
Captain: , New York, NY (470)

The channel is easy to negotiate, and short. No problems at low tide with my 4.5 foot draft. Yacht club has beautiful new concrete floating docks, superb construction, lots of room to maneuver, everything was spanking clean, hoses on the docks, super clean and large bathrooms, dock hands were super helpful and nice. Beautiful pool, tennis courts, charming town (bit of a walk, but doable.) Mosquitos at dusk, and those annoying CT biting flies, so rig up the screens. No fuel, but Brown's is just across the way.

Don't be afraid of the skinny water, 2010-11-11
Captain: , Wilton, CT (70)

The channel is deeper than you think and all mud. Worth it to visit this beautiful facility and gorgeious colonial town.

Very pleasant, 2007-10-21

This was a nice new facility with good floating docks and clean restrooms. A one mile walk to the famous Green in the center of town
