Reviews for Black Point Settlement Town Dock
Great town great people., 2017-07-26
Captain: , Marathon Fl (270)

Just a wonderful town that's super cruiser friendly. Water and trash service available for nominal donations to the school (be generous if you can) great reasonably priced restaurants, best laundry in the bahamas and with the best view anywhere. People are very friendly. No fuel available but most other things you need can be had. Worth a long stay in reasonably settled weather. Don't skip a stop here.

Deshamond's, 2016-05-04
Captain: , Bradenton, FL (90)

On April 25, 2016 we went to Deshamond's and it was awesome. Rambo, the proprietor, was above and beyond regular service. The food was very, very and tasty. He gave us information we needed to assist in our visit. He took very good care of his customers. We also visited Lorraine's, but the service was not as outstanding.

Upcoming Events at Lorraine's Cafe, 2016-01-19
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (50)

Lorraine's Cafe is better than ever! They have expanded their kitchen and lounge, and have added an outdoor deck. Food and hospitality continue to be first class. For Cruisers this season, they are offering several special events. On February 7th, they will be hosting the "Best Super Bowl Party in the Cays". On February 14th, Lorraine will host her "Hearts Beat As One" Valentine's Day Party. March 28th will be Lorraine's First Annual "Cruisers Appreciation Day" with special events to celebrate her new outdoor dining and limin' deck.

the best in the Exumas, 2015-05-25
Captain: , Cozumel, Mx (310)

I have spent many days at anchor here and just keep coming back. Lots of friends have flown in and out to meet the boat. The airport is very convenient .Ida at the laundry is wonderful. Rambo at Deshamons always has a smile and is so kind. Everyone makes you feel at home. 2 dinghy docks plus two sandy beaches to park. Huge bay that sees 30+ boats most nights but is not crowded. Pretty much everything you need. Love the place

Terrible dock to take your dinghy to.., 2015-04-09
Captain: , Southampton , UK (1327)

Use the dinghy dock 200 meters west of this dock, much better.

The building is a large white building, when you get close enough you will see a sign saying Launderette, there are generally a fair few dinghys there alreadt.

Black Point Settlement Nicest place in all of Exumas, perhaps Bahamas, 2015-03-10
Captain: , Kingston, Ontario (1970)

5th year here, not wven bothering with GT this year.
Great place, welcoming folks and wonderful community.
Garbage and water is by donation.
Two great eateries and a wonderful sports bar with good prices.
laundry, showers, fishing, free wifi.

Good dock but can be difficult, 2014-03-23
Captain: , Mooloolaba (692)

The dock is high and can be hard to access at low tide.
The mail boat ties up along the west side of the dock, at least it did while we were there.

Easy Dock to use, 2013-04-09
Captain: , Morehead City (390)

Easy dock to tie up to. Just make sure you're not where the big boat docks.

Great dinghy dock with free trash disposal, 2013-03-28
Captain: , Hampton, VA (2573)

This pier is the easiest place to bring the dinghy in to Black Point. Be sure to know when the mail boat is coming so you don't put your dinghy in harm's way.

Don't miss a visit to Blackpoint, 2012-08-29
Captain: , Atlanta, GA (291)

If you are looking for the authentic out island experience, be sure not to miss Blackpoint. Loved "Ocean Cabin". The entire island is populated with the nicest, warmest people you'll meet. I only wish we hadn't been on such a tight schedule so we could have spent more time here.
