Reviews for Grande Harbour Marina
A Real Boatyard, 2016-04-06

I hit a rock in the Rock Pile on a Sunday and was Sinking. By the time I got to the yard, men were waiting and the travel lift was at the lift slip. I was hauled immediately and the repair was finished the following day at 5pm. It was a 3.5' crack with a crack in the diesel tank. The subcontractors with the yard are excellent. Note this is a do it yourself yard. The management is willing to point you to subcontractors and supply parts. You will have to manage the project. I highly recommend Grand Harbor Marina with a very kind and helpful staff. Especially important in this case were Coggeshall's Marine Towing (TowBoatUS), Sea Pupp (mechanics), and BB&B(fiberglass repair). These are all excellent businesses with very professional personnel. Thank you all.

5 Weeks and no work!, 2015-04-25
Captain: , Little River SC (365)

My boat sat on the hard for 5 weeks waiting on media blaster that never showed. I had to move my boat to Charleston. It is my understanding they are now under new management and yes I give people a second chance. That is why they get 3 stars because I know other people that have had good experiences here. Very convenient to the grand strand area. They get a lot of work from boaters transiting the rock pile.

Great people to work with; very conscientious and knowledgable. Reasonable pricing as well!

Wonderful Place, 2014-05-04

We have been floored by the friendliness and helpfulness of the people here in Little River, South Carolina. James at Lightkeepers Marina took my reservation mid-afternoon Friday after we hit a log in the Waccamaw, and had Larry the diver call me later that afternoon. On Saturday James was there to take the lines, and Larry, Saturday afternoon, came as promised and dived on the boat and gave the diagnosis. He then called Nick at Grande Harbour who offered to haul us Sunday afternoon if it would help, but based on the tides we opted for Monday morning. He hauled us exactly as promised, Larry showed up exactly as promised and was reinstalling the shaft and prop, duly straightened, 24 hours after pulling it. And Nick had us in the water again next morning and James was there again to take the lines at the marina. The charges were fair and reasonable for the work performed, and everyone knew his business, and worked at it. Even the motel staff waived the weight limit on dogs given our circumstance.

Extremely Professional & Skillful, 2014-04-18

Thanks to Nick Triplett, marina manager, Larry Aldrich, of Larry's Diving & Propeller Service and Juan Alijanvez of BB & B Fiberglass.

We were hauled out for repairs and spent a week on the hard.
I don't think you'll find a more hard working, professional and skillful group of guys anywhere else in South Carolina. Reasonably priced, with prompt and courteous service.

Thank you

Honest and fair, 2012-11-28

We needed prop work after hitting something in the ICW. Few places to haul a 30 ton boat so luckily we were told about this boat yard. Nick, the manager, arranged for a prop guy and would haul us and get us back cruising quickly. That didn't happen since the shaft was bent and one strut needed repositioning. Larry did the prop, etc. work and is excellent and timely and fair. We spent 5 days on the hard while Hurricane Sandy was coming by SC. All we dealt with were fair, honest and very helpful.

good place to store a boat, 2012-05-29
Captain: , Buffalo (1144)

This is not really a marina, but a boat storage yard. They have a 65 ton travelift as well as a large forklift. What makes this place exceptional is Joe and Dale Gibson. They will go out of their way to cater to your every whim. We drystored our boat here for 6 months, and were very pleased with the service.

New owners here, but staff are just as accommodating as the previous. Still a good place to store your boat.
