Reviews for Goose Bay Marina and Campground
Friendly staff but the fuel dock is a bit tricky for larger boats, 2017-04-11
Captain: , Washington D.C. (252)

The fuel dock is on the shore between two long peirs, can be a bit tricky to get down into. Great family place, very friendly staff

Updated, I had my 24' bayliner here for over 2 years, great service and still a very friendly staff even after dealing with me!

Nice basic marina, 2015-02-20
Captain: , Summerlin, NV (350)

This marina provided a nice protected and secure stay for us. We had planned to cruise further north but an incoming thunderstorm changed our plan. We called the marina and found they had space available. Staff was very nice. The wooden docks were ample, althouth the fingers were rather short, adding difficulty for backing in a small boat. The grounds were generally designed and operated as a family campground rather than a marina, although the marina was certainly ample. The restroom fcility was satisfactory and towards the center of the camp ground. Our berth was located at the far end of the marina where it was shallow with a lot of marine grass and weeds floating at the surface. Becuase of our show shallow draft this was not a problem, but it was less than idea to look at.

Friendly and helpfull, 2012-10-31
Captain: , Deltaville VA (13)

Called Marina a few hours before arviving to ask for transient slip for the weekend followed by haul out and winter storage. They had an end slip awaiting us to accomadate our 4ft draft. The other slip holders were all very friendly and helped to catch lines and tie us off. They dont deal with alot of sailboats. Did a very professional job hauling and blocking our 32ft yawl. Basic field storage and they dont seem to mind the diy work

A Regular Fuel Stop, 2011-09-07
Captain: , Deltaville, Va (10)

Iva W has stopped here twice now, for fuel and ice. The staff is quite friendly, and the locals always pleasant. On both stops ( 7/5/11 a dead low tide - 9-5-11 at mid tide) had no difficulty getting in and out at 55 feet LOA and 4.5 foot draft. Granted we were throwing mud, and the channel may be a bit deeper as a result of our visit.

Dinghy to get milk and ice., 2011-08-28
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

It is a nice campground. They pulled all there boat for Hurricane Irene (even a 41 foot Defever). Small shop for soda, milk and ice. Some food.

Marine Service, 2010-07-07
Captain: , Swan Point, MD (85)

Have had excellent service there on I/O drives and outboards. Harold is one of the more knowledgable mechanics on the river.

July Bay trip, 2009-07-20
Captain: , Heathsville, VA (138)

Watch out for the fuel dock! It is up against shore at land end of fingers - only about 3' deep. We just stopped to fuel up for final leg home - very little in way of facilities.

Goose Bay, 2009-07-18
Captain: , Old Saybrook, CT (1021)

Friendly, but not used to transients. They seemed unsure of how much water was in what slip. We kept our 3.5 foot draft trawler there while visiting friends in the area and everything was fine.
