Reviews for Golconda Marina
Nice marina, 2016-09-14
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (2206)

9-11-16 We arrived after hours but had good instructions for arriving at the marina and slip. This is a nice marina, some covered slips with tall roof. The river was above normal pool and we had about 9 feet of water to the slip. Call for current conditions before entering the marina. Nice restrooms, showers, and ships store. About a 1/4 mile walk to town.

Still Shallow, 2016-07-17
Captain: , Branson, MO (90)

We witnessed two shallow-draft boats hit the same thing in the main channel to the fuel dock next to us. And our depth finder went to zero and then died. But the folks were very friendly and helpful. Just needs dredging.

We got in fine, the owners were leaving, saw us and turned around to help us. The fuel dock is shallow, I am 3'6" and sucked alot of mud. Had to clean the strainers after I tied up away from the fuel dock.

A welcome respite, 2013-04-25

A little difficult to locate at night. We arrived late (reservations were made in advance) and the owners, Doug and Carrie, told us where to dock and left us a shower key on the power pedestal. They were open early and had the coffee going. Showers were clean, ships store had what you needed and good friendly people to sit around with. My chartplotter had failed so I had been relying on my ipad Navionics app. Not wanting to run the genset all day just to keep the Ipad powered, Carrie graciously allowed me to borrow her 12v powered inverter. She just asked I mail it back to her on our return home. We were in business! The day after we got home my wife put the inverter in the mail, it saved our behinds since the river was so high. A day later, we got a check in the mail from the marina. Carrie had lowered fuiel prices at the pump but forgot to change the register, Upon seeing her mistake, she wrote me a check for the difference and mailed it. I would have never known the difference so it really made me respect their operation. Great honest people.

Good Stop, 2013-03-31
Captain: , Cincinnati (1810)

We stopped here after leaving Green Turtle Bay. They have new owners this year and they aim to please. While it will take them a while to get Wifi and other improvments done, as it sits, it is a nice, family run place and would definitely stop here again.

Very protected off River quick in and out, 2012-06-13
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Stopped 06-13-12 floating docks most covered. Tad shallow but bottom is pea soup soft. Power in 120 degree sine wave so some inverters may not like it. The east side south end of "B" dock is a face dock that is used for large transients boats.

Nice Marina, Good people, 2011-05-17
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (778)

Stayed here one evening on the way up the Ohio to Cincinnati. It was early April so very quiet and water was not on yet. Staff was pleasant and very helpful.

Great facility, 2011-04-23
Captain: , Waverly, WV (116)

Stayed here twice Aug. 2010, going down and coming back. Very nice covered slips, surprisingly well stocked ship store, friendly courteous staff. Fuel, ice, lots of dog walking area. Very friendly folks at the marina and in town. Stayed 2 nights due to 125 deg heat index. Lady at the motel came and picked us up, took us to eat and brought us back the next day. The lady at the restaurant, took us to the grocery and a tour of town. Well protected harbor style marina, with very reasonable prices.

Nice marina, but little to do elsewise, 2010-09-20
Captain: , Jeffersonville, IN (582)

In a place where little else exists for the boater this marina provides good shelter at safe covered docks. The staff is very friendly and helpful and a ships store has the essentials for parts, ice, fuel and so on. The restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the town does not offer much in the way of restaurants or taverns to pass the time so be prepared to provide for those needs prior to arriving.

Nice Marina, 2009-07-12
Captain: , Kentucky (190)

Friendly staff, store is not real well stocked, lots of liveaboards here, as of 7/12/09 - $.74/foot

Oasis on the Ohio, 2008-03-16
