Reviews for Glen Cove Marina
Splendid!, Great! Wonderful!, 2011-11-02
Captain: , Benicia, CA (39)

I've been tied up here for almost 4 years. The only thing it doesn't have is fuel, but everything else. Free 24 hr. pump-out. Very nice, supermarket abt. 1 mile away, and other shops. Right now the cafe is closed, looking for another operator. Raechel and Heather are very friendly and are very good 'people' people. Reasonable cost for the S.F.Bay Area - 25 sea miles to San Francisco, CA, and tons of places to visit all around. Live-aboards, too. Good security. And, watch the big ships go by! 10+ feet deep, a smaller marina, very close parking. Covered and open slips. Check it out!

First of all, I agree with the earlier review that this is harbor has a fairly narrow opening which makes for an interesting entrance when a strong current is running. For me, this is fine. Interesting = fun.

We spent a night here on the 4th of July weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a cute marina with well kept grounds and a nice (and steep) hiking trail nearby. The Cafe is open for business and offered a fantastic menu. We enjoyed hanging out on the lawn on their adirondack chairs listening to the live music. The waiter kept the cold beers and appetizers coming. Lamb sliders, mmmm....... The live music is a really nice addition to the scene.

Depth did not seem to be any sort of issue now that they have recently dredged.

Careful on entering, 2010-02-25

The entrance is pretty darned narrow, like about 60 ft. wide, and with the tide running through Carquinez Strait you must "crab" one way or the other, then steer out of it carefully when you get to the entrance. It is not always graceful, as you must come in at a faster pace than you might like to, but there now is plenty of water at the entrance and through the fairway.
