Reviews for Gibsons Marina and Fuel
The "New" Gibsons Marina, 2016-08-10
Captain: , Pender Harbour, BC (351)

Under new management, but still owned by the city of Gibsons. The new management has plans for a waterfront hotel/convention center right at the marina. Big deal ?? maybe not, but the money grab is definitely on. Slip rental is actually more than downtown Vancouver, and the services are very average. Not bad, but not worth the $2 per foot! My forecast is that this will become a veryexpensive spot over the next few years!

Helpful Office Staff, 2016-08-01
Captain: , Mullica Hill, NJ (688)

Easy entry and easy fuel dock. Slip was also an easy dock. No one helped us dock or I would have given 5 stars. Office staff did help a lot with directions and suggetions. Town is right there and a relatively easy walk from the marina. Bathrooms were clean and new. The town even has a public piano with aview out over the harbor.

called in on a busy saturday to get a space - they squeezed us in, last minute . office people pleasant, and dock help is available upon arrival if needed -

Very nice place to visit..., 2014-09-17
Captain: , North Vancouver, BC (547)

A quick phone call and we had a reservation, a quick radio call when we were outside and we had our slip assignment. Traffic inside the breakwater was a bit nuts, but aim where you need to go and people figure it out - seems to be the way of the world there. No one to meet you at your slip, which I thought odd, but the slip itself was sized appropriately for the boat. Price was a buck/foot/night, 30A power was $3 - not bad at all.

Docks are OK - not great, but nothing wrong with them. The office is at the top of the ramp, people were very friendly and helpful, the chandlery pretty well equipped for a small space. A key fob for the gate, a key for after-hours washroom acess and we were set.

Washrooms and showers were clean and adequate, but dated and neded some maintenance. Showers were not co-ed...

Gibsons lower villiage is a nice short stroll away, most of it along the ever expanding and very nice sea walk. There's some excellent food choices (and some not so excellent - suggest staying away from the "Waterfront Restaurant") - very nice people, very nice shops etc.

Overall, pleasantly surprised. We'll definately be back

Pleasant and Accommodating, 2013-07-21
Captain: , Crescent Beach (30)

We stayed for 4 nights during Gibson's "Sea Cavalcade", a treat in itself, complete with parade and fireworks viewed from our aftdeck. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our 45 LOA boat for the last night as initially they did not have room during this busy time.
The marina has a fully-stocked store with an extensive array of boat supplies.

Visitors Are Not Welcome in Gibsons, 2013-07-10
Captain: , Vancouver (282)

They have taken out almost all of the transient berths. Too bad, we used to enjoy visiting, and the Marina has nice facilities, but there are plenty of other choices.

Nice place, but expensive, 2013-05-28
Captain: , Kenmore, WA (948)

I got gas here, and asked about tying up someplace to get a cup of coffee. They wanted to charge me $10 for the privilege, so I left. Gas dock opens at 9, but you can access the bathrooms up the dock even when they are closed. You just can't leave the dock because it's padlocked when they are closed. I anchored just outside the marina to access the BBX wireless.

Reduction in transient slips, 2013-05-21
Captain: , Gibsons, B.C. (30)

I have moorage in Gibsons Marina and it is great; however the number of slips reserved for transient moorage has been reduced to 4, so be sure to make reservations. There may be permanent berth holders who have made their slips available as well.

No large slips, 2013-05-03
Captain: , Coal Harbour (10)

I was just informed that Gibson's has remodelled to remove their large slips in favour of more smaller slips. So nothing over 40' for transients. Too bad, it's a nice place.

Good shelter when Georgia straits is rough, 2013-04-10
Captain: , Vancouver (22)

Pleasant experience evrytime I go in. Recomended, although a bit pricey.

Not very friendly to transients, 2012-02-16
Captain: , Cowichan Bay, BC (838)

They don't go out of their way to welcome transients and they are pretty heavy handed with their charges, even just for a couple of hours to do laundry or pick up groceries. For short term try the fuel dock - if they're not busy you can tie up there while you run for groceries.

We had a nice stay..., 2011-05-23
Captain: , Vancouver (50)

We spent a few hours here over lunch. Everyone was very friendly and were eager to have us extend our stay. The showers were hot and the facilities clean.

Very cute town, 2009-08-15
Captain: , Anacortes, WA (147)

Gibsons is a very pleasant stop on your way to or from Victoria. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, etc. nearby. The marina office has a small but well-stocked chandlery and assortment of fishing supplies. The finger piers are not the most stable, but OK.
