Reviews for Geneva State Park Marina
Nice staff, good bathrooms, nice town, 2017-08-29
Captain: , Algonac, MI (1926)

Fueling was well done if a little overpriced, solid docks, good wifi and showers. Enjoyed the walk to town.

Nice, Clean, Convenient, 2017-08-28
Captain: , Cleveland, OH (174)

I always stop at this Ohio State Park marina on my way from Cleveland to Erie, PA. The staff is polite and helpful. The harbor is well protected.

Nice walk to good restaurants and the "strip", a main drag in town that hardens old honked Tonkin and is lots of fun.

Okay stop on Lake Erie, 2017-08-23
Captain: , Swifts Neck Wareham, MA (472)

Staff is helpful and friendly, the facility is clean and scenic. They have laundry, gas, diesel, pump-out, snack bar/ restaraunt, marine store. Close to a honky-tonk style downtown area with arcades, amusement parks, and biker bars. Transient boaters can sometimes be a bit loud.

Nice state park marina, 2016-08-22
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

Nice newer marina. Very nice fuel dock and friendly help. Transient dockage, I believe for boats over 25 or 30 feet is on the outer wall. The outer wall is nice and just a little walk over the embankment gives you a nice veiw of lake Erie. Short walk to old style resort town with plenty of eating options. The only shortfall that I could see (and maybe I missed something) was that there were only 2 shower/ bathrooms for a lot of potential boaters.

Favorite Stopover, 2016-06-13
Captain: , Erie, PA (160)

Our home port is Erie PA, and we store our boat for winter in East Lake OH, and Geneva has become our favorite stopover coming/going at each end of season. Great slips, facilities, shop, staff, and close to other restaurants, shops, activity.

Geneva State Park 2016, 2016-05-29
Captain: , Transient - Plymouth, Mi (811)

This Marina went out of their way to help us. We had high winds & seas & decided to put in for the night somewhere soon but further east towards Cleveland. The dock attendant helped get us tied off, assisted in the fuel up, pump out, and fresh water top tank top off. Very courteous, Knowledgeable about the area and willing to share.

Very protected - Nice Marina, 2015-10-04
Captain: , Cleveland, Ohio (130)

The marina and facilities here are very nice. I spent a weekday night here in September and walked into town. Nothing was open. Not the marina%u2019s fault, obviously. But, if you%u2019re looking forward to Geneva-on-the-Lake, come in the summer. The marina is top notch though.

Narrow Entrance Worthwhile, 2015-09-10
Captain: , Little River, SC (754)

We came in off a rough lake into a narrow channel (aren't they all when the weather kicks up) that led into an absolutely beautiful state park marina. You've got to see this palce to appreciate it, words don't describe it. On top of several hundred slips, it has two floating docks - one about 500' long, the other about 1500' long. Wide spacious floating docks in excellent condition. A pleasant walk through nature trail to the park resort, another beautiful accomodation, resturant and bar. Another 1/4 mile puts you on the outskirts of Geneva-On-The-Lake, a small, quaint resort town on the lake. A wine drinkers paradise with wineries and restaurants. Don't miss this stop. It's well worthwhile.

Quick Stop for Lunch, 2015-09-09
Captain: , CURTICE (171)

We stopped for lunch and to pick up supplies. Plenty of depth 7+ ft.

The Marina has very nice docks and a friendly staff. We had hoped to pick up some basic groceries, but the "Supplies" available at the marina were limited to souvenirs, fishing supplies and some boat accessories. Small snack shop selling burgers etc.

A short walk into town brings you to the convenience store. It is more of a beer store with a few groceries.

Nice town, Gas and Diesel available at the marina but not much here.

Great stop, well protected, 2014-08-01
Captain: , Sandusky, Ohio (392)

We spent 5 days here waiting out some of the worst weather in Lake Erie history. The transit dock is a new floating dock on the north side of the marina with ample power and water. Protected to the north by a huge embankment. Marina office is on the other side of the marina, but a call on channel 9 will bring a dock attendant in a golf cart for transportation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great spot if you bring bikes along. Geneva-On-The-Lake is a mile away, and very easy to get to. Kitschy old time resort town with plenty of eateries, bars, arcades, and fun. State park lodge with a good restaurant within walking distance.

Excellent stop very protected, 2014-07-14
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1997)

We had a very nice 2 day stop here while sitting out some heavy weather.
The transient dockage is almost brand new and well constructed it is a bit of a walk to the marina office but enjoyable
Close to the beach area and we paddleboarded a lot while there as the basin is very well protected.
Watch your depths on low lake years this year is high and we had 8' at the slip.
The staff were very professional and accommodating.
Would definitely stop again if in the area well positioned between Erie and Cleveland.

Great Service, 2013-11-20
Captain: , Maryland Heights, MO (314)

We brole a bracket on our trailer along I-90 and limped into the marina. The Dock Shop did a great job of fixing it (and replacing two ruined tires) less than 24 hours after we arrived.

can handle bigger boats, 2013-08-02
Captain: , Lisbon, OH (50)

We have a 46+ feet boat. One of the better entrances for our size boat. Lots of fishing charters make this marina home port. Good to talk to them for local knowledge. They are building a new meeting/picnic enclosed building. Check for completion. Stayed extra day waiting for good weather, worth it.

Nice Marina and People, 2012-09-29
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (829)

Stayed here on 09-20-2012. George, the Harbormaster stayed late to make sure we got in OK. Clean and hot showers and well stocked convenience store right in the Marina. Note, we needed 250/125 50 AMP (2 legs) and they only had a single leg, but, we made due.

A little touchy entering in a north wind, 2012-03-02
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

Marina is well run and very busy.
The nearby resort has a lovely sunday brunch and you can walk into the nearby town in a few minutes.

Geneva State Park Marina, 2011-10-15
Captain: , Catawba Island, Ohio (160)

Perfect overnight stop. Easy Inlet. Fuel including diesel. Decent marine store and nice restaurant at State Park lodge. Tranisients can get accesss to lodge swimming pool, but you have to ask.
Great walking and bicycle stop.

Not the best experience, 2011-08-06
Captain: , Sandusky, OH (294)

After an 8 hour slog from Cleveland with 20 knot winds on our nose and 5+ foot seas, we arrived to find that our reservation was worth nothing. We squeezed into a spot on the sea wall without electricity and got virtually no help landing in the blow. Everyone was friendly but not terribly helpful. Very pretty place.

Info if you bring the kids, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Ashtabula, OH (10)

The beach is Sandy up to 5' before the water line then it is rocky the first 5' ito the water. I would bring water shoes for comfort when getting in and out of the water. Also if you have razor scooters bring those becuase it will make the trip into town a lot easier. Eddies Grill is great for burgers, hot dogs and fries but they only take cash. Take one of the kids scooters and a back pack in the morning and go get Madson doughnuts. No place close to reprovision that I know.

Great facility, 2011-06-23
Captain: , Toronto (203)

Marina is well maintained and set in a delightful area. We walked to an excellent restaurant along a waterfront trail and saw hundreds of fireflies; other nature also abounds. Rent bicycles to ride to Geneva on the Lake or walk. There is also a sandy beach. All for $1 per foot.

Nice Place, 2011-06-19
Captain: , Huron, OH (176)

We spent a night at Geneva State Park Marina 6/19/2011. First class operation, nice docks, showers, bathrooms. Very helpful staff. Close to some good places to eat.
Gas was $3.99

Geneva Marina, 2011-02-04
Captain: , Ashtabula YC, Ohio (278)

Part of Geneva State Park and next door to the Lodge.
Friendly and efficient staff, good dockage, nice place to spend a night. A walk to the Geneva on the Lake "strip" where all the fun is going on.

Well run facility, 2009-05-19
Captain: , Huron,OH - Little River, SC (680)
