Reviews for Garrison Yacht Club
Friendly folks if you can find them, 2015-06-04
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2709)

Our desire to stay here overnight so we could visit West Point started poorly with no way to contact them. The phone number listed in Active Captain and one their own large sign is wrong. they are now aware and plan to correct that.

Once there, the fixed docks are brand new and excellent. The face dock forms a solid wall to break wakes for their members on the inside, but any rough water on the river will rock you. At least your fenders have a good, continuous surface.

We met a number of members and enjoyed docktails with them under their very nice dockside pavilion. We took a taxi $35 one-way to West Point to take the tour.

A Marina with Character, 2012-09-06
Captain: , Charleston (241)

Due to size and draft restrictions we had to dock on the outside face dock (south end.) This is a self-service dock and the fee is $2.00 per foot. We was met by the Commodore, Will ????, who was very helpful and even gave drove us to West Point. Be sure to get one of the locals to tell you about Benedict Arnold who lived in the town of Garrison while the head of West Point. We enjoyed our stay at this quiet marina and will return.

30ft and under only., 2012-06-27
Captain: , Marlboro Yacht Club, Marlboro NY (515)

we were asked to anchor vs docking for a meal. marina is setup for smaller boats, they dont want much more than 27ft in there.

Locals who keep their boats here were very helpful. Train to Cool Springs (one stop) for a graet walk around town and good eats. Also can train to NYC. If tide is high, make sure your fenders are set well.

We also called ahead and made a reservation. The outside face dock is in two sections which is like a wooden sea wall with the center opening as passage to the member slips. Each section has room for about three boats. The south section has 30A service and water. The north section has 50A and 30A service and water. The "office" is a small building with code access for the included washroom (no shower) but very clean and stocked. There is no onsite staff so self tie up required. No problem for us who have now done 400 locks on single engine without bow thruster. The docking overnight fee is $2 per foot on the honor system with envelope and form in box. The face walls are very dirty and fenders need energetic scrubbing to clean after. The across river views of West Point are well worth the visit. The Yacht Club Commodore stopped by to welcome us after getting off the Metro North train adjacdent to the Yacht Club.

Self service yacht club. We tied up on outside wall (48' trawler), no one there to help us, but had called ahead, spoke with Will Faraday and he was very helpful over the phone. $2.00 per foot per night with electric and water. Right next to the train station. Dingyed across river to Highland Falls Yacht Club to tour West Point.
