Additional info:

Located on the east side of the Gananoque Municipal Marina the narrow entrance has ~8' of water but shoals to ~3' at the end. With boats tied on both sides there is insufficient room to turn around in the channel. You may consider backing in to facilitate your exit.

Please note that the Gananoque tour boats dock overnite just north of the town docks, coming in late in the evening and leaving early in the morning.

Reviews for Gananoque Town Dock
Handy free public dock, 2014-12-01

This is a short term municipal dock. Unlike some misplaced reviews might suggest, this dock is free, short term up to 3 hours only, and no overnight stay without municipal marina permission. Close to the town's center with shopping and services.

The free town dock is a good size, with room for quite a few boats. It's hit or miss if there will be room when you get in, but your stay is limited to 3 hours, so if it's full just wait around or come back in a little bit.

The dock is very handy for reprovisioning. Groceries, hardware, banking etc is a short walk away in town. There's an LCBO about a block away from the free dock if that is what you need.

We kept the boat here for two weeks 'between' holidays. The 40 foot finger docks were a bit tight for our 60 footer. The finger docks in the SW corner are best (on the left as you enter) and have about 7-8 feet of water. Another option for larger boats is to side tie at the main dock but the depth is not constant. I would pick the west end of the pump out dock which has 7 feet+
Services are basic and tired. Office hours are erratic (they can close as early as 3pm.) Staff are helpful.
The parking in the lot is metered but you can by a 24 hour pass from the office for $5. Call 613-382-3399 for a taxi to the grocery store or the huge hardware store by hwy 401.
There is no security at the docks but it's a quiet spot and we had no hesitation about leaving the boat there.

Overnite is possible, 2011-02-02

Managed to get a spot for our 34 ft boat by consolidation of the smaller boats already there, aided by people on the dock.
Took a walk in town, returned to the boat and sat out a late afternoon thunderstorm. Checked for an overnite slip in the adjacent Marina - none available. But got permission to stay at the town dock. This was good - but what was disappointing was the need to pay for a marina slip with no services available!
