Reviews for Ft. Washington Marina
Overnight Stay, 2013-09-06
Captain: , Fairfax, VA (80)

Stayed overnight on 22 foot boat 2011. Marina great but restaurant (Proud Mary) poor.

Quick stop for gas or pump out., 2013-03-31

Service can be very slow, but friendly once arrives.

Approved as a Live aboard marina with many residents and few transient docks, 2010-07-16
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

very tight but very protected we came in at dead high tide(+2.7') and saw water depths as low as 7'. At dead normal low that would be a depth of 4.3'. channel is marked by three pairs of pilings with no dayboards just stay between them. After the pilings stay in the middle until; just before the marina where there is a tree in the water off a point on your strb ...favor the marina side and avoid coming close to the point with the tree as there is debris under water.

Great place for gas., 2008-01-21
Captain: , Mt. Vernon, VA (10)

South of DC this is the best place for gas if you do not want to venture down to the Occoquan river area. Friendly and helpful folks.

Scenic, Helpful, Shallow, 2007-11-30
Captain: , annapolis (183)

I laid up here for much of the winter here a few seasons back. This marina is a beautiful place, surrounded by water and wildlife (cruising in the dinghy, I saw deer come down to the river).

It is also a helpful place because it houses one of the only slings on the upper Potomac. If you need real repairs in this area -- repairs that require pulling the boat out of the water -- this is the place. Having said that, they get busy when winter nears, so plan ahead (if you can).

The only criticism I offer is that the approach is very shallow -- I've seen it at four feet -- and not well lit at night.

Reconstruction in Progress.........., 2007-10-27
Captain: , Occoquan, Virginia (68)

New floating docks are being installed and the restaurant and other services are being upgraded (2007). Stay tuned...........
