Reviews for Fort Walton Yacht Club
Low key, pleasant stayjoyed, 2016-09-25
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (512)

Club members very friendly and welcoming; only asked that we have a current yacht club membership, not necessary to be a reciprocal club; docks were recently redone to repair storm damage; cozy porch seating; great burgers from the bar; sandy beach for swimming (dog enjoyed chasing bait fish); pleasant neighborhood to walk; nothing nearby but several members offered to drive us or loan us a car; slow but adequate Wi-fi with our antenna booster; 11+ feet at transient dock (B/C), 6" tide; some boat wakes from nearby boaters; love the deep water bay!

Great private club!, 2016-05-15
Captain: , Illinois (2444)

5/16/15They will find a place with you if available. Give them a call.

Enjoyed another pleasant stay here. Friendly people, clean showers, good food and bar. Great patio porch for relaxing and visiting.

wonderful club, 2015-02-02
Captain: , Paris Landing TN (636)

the club is great. met on dock by members, assisted in tying up the boat. was given a tour of the club. hot showers and free ice! club members were helpful and gave us a ride to the nearby grocery. they even invited us to the super bowl party. GYA member club.

Friendly and welcoming Yacht Club, 2014-11-02
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

this club welcomed us in and invited us to functions as a member even though we are not. They have limitted space so call ahead. Shopping is approx. 1 mile away to include Win Dixie and West Marine Ect. Several members offerred to ride us to the stores. they have oil dump center. We spent 3 days here waiting for the gale to blow out and were secure at the dock. the docks are a little lod but very servicable with good power. I would certainly stop here again and would recommend a friend to as well.

Very nice place to be, 2012-11-01
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4176)

Good protected corner except for strong W wind. Nice people here, good rate $1/ft. + $4 elect. Stayed here instead of the (free) Ft Walton Beach munic. dock which is now unuasable.

Easy Docking, 2012-07-22
Captain: , Memphis TN (977)

June 14, 2012 Nice facility, reciprocity with Gulf Yachting Assoc. Easy extrance, and slide directly onto a T-dock. Bathroom, showers, restaurant and bar.

Billy Bowlegs Festival, 2012-06-06
Captain: , Chattanooga (327)

We have normally stayed at the municipal docks but they were closed due to the festival. The town managers office suggested the yacht club and we stayed three days for .50/ft/night plus elec. Full club privileges at great prices even though we had no reciprocity. West marine a short bike ride and enterprise is close. Will return, they now take visa.

Ronj for other yacht club members., 2011-11-15
Captain: , Grand Haven (470)

We had a little engine trouble and our stay was three days instead of one. The yacht members are great. I would recommend this well protected area. We had 20 MPH winds from the south and had a little more than a zepher at this location.

Florida Coucil Club Reciprocity, 2011-10-13
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

OK Docks, clubhouse nice, good food. Great people, had a little trouble with 2 x 50 plugs and Barry jumped right in to assist and make it work.

Beautiful Facility, 2010-11-22
Captain: , Aquia Harbour, VA (1177)

The club is conveniently located on Smack Point on Garnier Bayou just off Choctawahatchee Bay. Docks are wooden, fixed and in good condition. The club house includes a large dining room and a bar. There are also restrooms and showers. Transients are accommodated on T heads. Although we do not belong to a FL yacht club, they welcomed us at their docks at a very reasonable dockage rate. In Nov. 2010, we were charged $0.50 per ft. plus electric and taxes. The club is in a residential area and not close to any shopping. However, there is an Enterprise car rental close by.
