Reviews for Flag Harbor Yacht Haven
Great spot to gas up between Solomon's and West River, 2013-08-05
Captain: , Chalk Point, MD (168)

We needed a break from pounding into 3' waves and we needed gas. It was either this, or a 12 mile trip around Barren Island into the Little Choptank on the Eastern Shore. We're glad we tried it - very tiny with 5.5 feet approach depth, but very protected with a full service marina and a travellift. The guy in the machine shop was monitoring 16 and answered our call, said to come in and someone would help with the gas. Very nice folks, I'd consider staying here.

great Marina, great location, wish I knew when traversing the Bay..., 2012-11-01

For a great spot within a day sail of Annapolis stop here. Full service, good crew, very safe and protected. Nice bathhouses, car to borrow to run for supplies, great docks. I don't believe there is a ship store, but for cruisers this is a nice break.

Easy in and out to continue south. Only 6' at transient dock during low tide. John responded to a message on the after hours phone and had a bathroom key waiting for us when we got in. Bathroom and shower are individual and clean, but not elegant. Only charged me $40 for the night. 33' boat with power. Met a couple who summers in Annapolis, but stores on land here for the winter. Says John is very good and cares for your boat as if his own. His personality seems to coincide with that. Will stay here again.

Good port in a storm, 2011-01-26

That's why we came in. There was someone there tending the place. Said he owned slips he could rent. We were there 3 days waiting for the storm to pass. We rented a local's car and went to the Annapolis Boat Show; and, to Vera's Restaurant on St. Leonard Cr. Nearby private beach offered a nice walk. We were in no hurry to leave.

My Home Port, 2010-11-03

FH is a condo marina -- the slips are privately owned. There is no dockmaster per se and no one monitors the VHF. That said, there is usually a vacant slip for a transient boat and someone around that can help. Depth in the inlet can be shallow -- approach carefully. FH Marine Services is available for repairs and gas only -- no diesel. This is the BEST spot on the Bay -- no crowds, quiet, immediate access to the Bay, great marine services, friendly people, no bar or restuarant, new travel lift for repairs and winter storage, secure. Don't just stop -- keep your boat here!

Good stop. Well protected from any winds. There is a nice beach to walk.

OK for boats up to about 40'. Most slips are for boats around 25' If you are wide beam make sure to clarify with the dockmaster before arriving.

Great little hiding spot., 2008-03-31
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (6)

If its blowing out of the south and the waves are stacking up, slide in here. Once you get near the shore the wind calms down enough to drop sail and motor in easily. Once inside its glassy calm.

Its a relaxing spot between the bustle of Annapolis and Solomans. If you are cruising around the Chesapeake and want to lounge, its not a bad spot!

When the sun is setting the channel looks real skinny, but when you get up on top theres enough room for two trimarans and a motorboat to go through at once. The jetties extend out a good distance... and the beach isn't half bad!

Delivery haven, 2008-03-12
Captain: , baltimore, md (106)

During a delivery, this was a welcome site and the marina provided safe haven for an overnight.

Haven is the word, 2007-08-29

After hours of bashing waves head on coming down the bay it became obvious we wouldn't make Solomon's in daylight. With the haze building and darkness coming on we checked the charts for an alternative. Flag Harbor was a welcome sight. Even though we arrived after hours the few remaining slip holders were helpful in orienting us and a wonderful lifeguard closing the pool allowed us access to the shower and told us about a local restaurant that delivers to the marina. A peaceful haven with friendly helpful folks.
