Reviews for Fishermans Boatyard Inc.
Changed Policies, 2015-10-08
Captain: , Freeport (311)

Although I had previously hauled my 46' catamaran twice before here, I just spoke with the yard manager and was informed that there are new policies; the yard was no longer do-it-yourself ... all work is done by them on their own terms. Also they only do basic bottom jobs. Need other bottom work? Go somewhere else. Blisters? Go somewhere else. No haulouts between November and June in order to service charter boats. In between these policy pronouncements was a rant about how cheap sailboaters were and the statement that he isn't there to save the boater money but rather to make money.

Great laid back boat yard., 2015-03-19

I have hauled out here twice. I ready like the old Florida feel of the place.

Great boatyard and services. Mike and his staff are really helpful. If you cannot reach them by phone keep trying - they are often very busy.

Great Yard, 2011-12-22
Captain: , Gulf Shores AL (130)

I had a boat surveyed at Mike's before purchase in Sept 2011. Great guy and wonderful service. Yard is organized and well run. Boat is berthed in Orange Beach, Al but I am taking her back to Mike's (70 miles) for enhancements in Jan.

Incredible Service and Staff, 2011-10-06
Captain: , Bagdad, Florida (286)

I have known the yard manager, MIke Snell, for over twenty years and have nothing but raves for the service, help and the level of professionalism. This is pretty much a full service yard with the exception of fuel. Boaters are allowed to work on their own boats in a reasonable, unrushed atmosphere. Going to stay on your boat for a few days while working on it, feel free to enjoy the grill, shower, lounge with tv. Need to put a little food in the fridge, no problem.. Prices are competitive and reasonable. This will be your most pleasant boatyard visit.
