Steve and Debbie are teriffic dockmasters, helpful and availableto answer any questions. They are great hosts at the tiki palapa, making sure all feel welcome...and keeping the drinks COLD!

Tuesdays are great, veggie truck onsite in the am, air conditioned van to Eldon's grocery store (with a stop for gas if you need it) in the afternoon, and a sweet treat from Steve for the ride home...yum!

Grounds are full of wildlife, and the monkeys steal the show with their up close and personal antics. Beautiful water and your own private island. Rates are fair, and after two weeks you've paid for a month.

Fantasy island marina is a great place to relax, meet new friends and provision for your next cruising stop!

A good place from where to explore the Bay Islands of Honduras, 2016-04-28

The Marina is a very safe place to have your boat or leave it for extended periods as it is constantly patrolled by the Resort's guards.
Steve the Dock Master, ably assisted by Debbie his wife, go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant and hassle free as possible & are a hive of information
Situated in a beautiful location the Resort's facilities with lovely beaches, pool, sun loungers, two wrecks which can be snorkelled over and the daily activities are inclusive in the very reasonable costs. staying for a month or more is very cost effective
Steve & Debbie run the Tiki Palapa bar every evening which is open to 'Cruisers' serve good priced beer & wine, both appropriately chilled. There is an excellent supermarket which can be accessed by a 15 minute dinghy ride over to Roatin Yacht Club or alternatively hop on to the Tuesday shopping bus which takes you to the door - get as much as you can carry, all for the cost of a tip for the driver! There is also a Tuesday morning vegi van, again 1st class. I can't recommend this place enough, some long time Cruisers are berthing here as an alternative to the Rio Dulce as its only an overnight passage in the event of a Hurricane Warning

Good price and a safe place. Side tie to a good dock that wraps the S. W & N side of the island along a mangrove bank. Non potable water, expensive electric but well protected from all the northerns. When boats are dragging in the harbor they find refuge at night, easy deep water surrounds the docks, day or night. Fuel dock is small so most boats use jugs but you can pull up in your baot if you want. Cheaper fuel is to be found at eht BIP docks 2 miles W but that is another story. All the folks at the marina are great, and the Tiki bar is still cheap as it gets.

No fuel available, 2016-01-11
Captain: , Sailing (660)

Navigation into the Marina is difficult. There are no channel markers. Fortunately a couple came out in their dinghy to guide us in. The bad...after all that, there was no fuel dock.
Fo a few miles further west to Barefoot Cay Marina. There is fuel next door, and everyone was extremely nice.

Not What We First Hoped...., 2015-04-28
Captain: , Hamilton, Ontario (1141)

We arrived here quite by accident. We were on our way south to Panama when boat trouble caused us to pull into Roatan. Without any notice the resort accommodated us and helped get things going on our repairs. The price was right and so we paid $275 for a dock for a month! The daily rate is .75 per foot so it wasn't too many days before a month looked good. It doesn't look like Jerry is here anymore but Wille was very helpful and accommodating. The place is clean. However, there are some rustic components, and it seems like the upper management looks upon the Marina as nothing more than an incovienience. If you want a quiet respite ask for the back docks. You have to buy non-drinkable water from a permanent resident, but they are nice people. We stopped the water truck and he sold us good water off his truck for .10 a gallon.

No longer the center of French Harbor cruising life, 2015-04-23
Captain: , Ludlow, VT (129)

Jerry the dockmaster has moved on to Roatan Yacht Club at the other end of the harbor. There is very little social life going on. No one was at the bar the few evenings we were there. The ceiling fell down in the shower and the no one cleaned the toilet for days. Not what it used to be when Jerry was there!

Although we did not stay at the hotel we spent 4 months at the marina at Fantasy Island. I cannot say enough about Jerry the Harbormaster. He was so accommodating to us as well as all the boat owners. He by far is the best Harbormaster we have come across in our 2 years of cruising full time. For example I have a rather large dingy that I launch with a hydraulic crane. I needed to get the engine worked while the dingy was on land. Jerry had a cradle built for me out of scrap lumber where I could set the dinghy on the dock. When I asked how much he said we would use it again and there would be no charge. Now that is service. Jerry also organizes activities for the cruisers at the cruiser bar he had built just for the boaters. Enjoy hamburger night, fish fry night, movie night etc etc. One other positive about the marine is that they produce their own electricity. My boat is power hungry and during my entire stay I only had the power go out once. The electricity was great. The docks are all wooden but in good shape. With very little title surge we had no problem. Some of the negatives about the marina: there is no wifi on the docks. You have to go to the lobby to get wifi; bathroom and showers are not very nice so we just showered on board; the hotel staff other than Jerry were not very friendly. In our 4 months I could count on one hand how many times someone said good morning to us. It is not the nicest marina we have visited but it was a comfortable place to spend a few months. We will definitely return.

If you ever visit please say hello to Jerry. M/Y JASDIP

Best place in the Caribbean, 2014-05-22
Captain: , Singapore (66)

Very pretty place, only yards away from the reef with good diving, Jerry, the dockmaster, has created an amazing ambiance, with the "Tiki Palapa" right on the docks, nightly happy hour (happy night I should say), games and just a fantastic experience. We planned on a few days, and spent weeks there.

A Favorite, 2013-06-13
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (346)

We fell in love with the place, enjoyed the beautiful shaded grounds, the prettiest beaches & reefs on the island and the very welcoming people. A charming and well-secured property. Marina manager Jerry bent over backwards to meet our needs and facilitate frequent social opportunities. Already quite comfortable, the marina has potential to compete with the finest marine facilities in the Caribbean should the owner decide to invest in a few upgrades such as expanded shower facilities, higher pilings or floating docks for tropical storm protection and dockside wifi. One of our very favorite stops in two years circling the Caribbean.

A very nice marina., 2013-01-09
Captain: , Lewes, DE (612)

We stayed here in early 2012 and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The shower/bathroom facilities available to marina boaters is limited to one bathroom in one of the hotel rooms. Can cause a bit of a backup. Although the open air showers and bathrooms at the dive cemter can be used as well. We enjoyed our stay.
