Reviews for Fairview Beach Yacht Club
Wow it's tight, 2013-10-03
Captain: , Washington DC (80)

We made a fuel stop here in mid-September after we discovered Leeslyvania's fuel dock was closed. We have a 36' Sea Ray. The entry is very tight and they had boats tied up to the sea wall.

The fuel dock is a tight squeeze and it's shallow. Thankfully we parked on a calm day. We had to do a 180 to get out of the area.

I would not recommend coming in here with anything bigger than 30'.

Pirates Den restaurant/pub, 2011-03-30

This venue has all the hallmarks of a great weekend evening. Live bands, beach atmosphere, friendly staff and affordable grub. Unfortunately, the riverbed slope is sooo gradual , getting close is a challenge. They recently started offering a shuttle. There is a marina with limited accommodations and approach access is challenging if your draft exceeds 2ft., if you do get in maneuverability is VERY tight, you have to be able to rotate in your length radius. DO NOT ATTEMPT ACCESS TO THIS FACILITY unless your seamanship skills are expert in TIGHT QUARTERS. Having frequented this great venue, if your vessel exceeds 24 ft and your a expert, do not attempt entering, there are too many obstacles'.

Captain: , Wrightsville Beach, NC (464)

I stopped here for an overnight. I found the staff friendly and helpful, but was unable to get into the marina, as the controlling depth was less than my 4' draft. Dockmaster offered to provide water taxi service. Ended up anchoring off the club, which only worked because of south wind - otherwise very exposed anchorage. Tied up dinghy at boat ramp for $5/night. No club reciprocity.
