Reviews for Fair Haven Beach State Park
State park boat dock, 2014-08-09
Captain: , Gananoque ,Ontario Canada (288)

We are 47 ft with almost 4 ft draft. We have been here several times. They are in the process of dredging the entrance from the lake. Depth is good at dock there is 6 ft more so at the end of dock 4-5 as you get closer to shore. Approach with caution after entering the inner bay from lake when proceeding to this dock give the pier a wide berth to your portside. Dock is solid with a cement pad and well lit at night. There is space for 2 x 40 ft boats on one side of the dock and you could squeeze 2-3 smaller draft bowriders on the other side. There is a water tap at the end of the dock to fill jugs but you would require a 100 ft hose to fill your freshwater tanks.
Near the state park beach and has a convenience store with minimal supplies but friendly staff. You can dingy in and tie at a town dock and get groceries and has a hardware store. There are a couple of places to eat but nothing to rave about. The bank in town will not exchange Canadian funds and the establishments will not accept them either, credit card or American funds only.

great park by land. be very careful by sea however. we draw 6.5 feet and found an unmarked obstruction approaching the deepwater pier in water charted at 14 feet

Fair Haven Beach State Park, 2008-09-22

This is a beautiful beach and camp space-- to the east are stunning bluffs that look very much like Chimney Bluffs State Park near Sodus Bay. This park is kept up beautifully, the staff is helpful and friendly. There are many trails and walks- sunsets are spectacular! Very family friendly.
