As transients we stayed for a week and throughly enjoyed the location. With everything you might want within walking, bicycling, and bus ride distance this quiet marina is an excellent place to stop. The surrounding park has walking and biking paths and grass for the dog. Several restaurants are within walking distance and offer both fine dining and take-out. Trader Joes is located a long walk and free bus ride away in nice small shopping area. The free bus will also take you into and around the town of Emeryville. The marina staff are very helpful.

Emeryville Marina is pet friendly and is situated at the end of a penninsula and surrounded by a public park. Great walking paths for Fido and the rest of us. Terriffic views of the SFO Skyline, GG Bridge, Angel Island and the Bay. Not far to town and shopping/dining/movies. Close to everything any liveaboard boater may need. Don is a pretty laid back Harbormaster and easy to work with. Free Wi-Fi and new laundry and shower facilities. Park has a big firepit which can be used by everyone. Channel can be tricky to navigate at low or negative tide... Best to stay down the center at low tide to be safe.

All in all a pretty good Marina to live in or just visit.

One of the best views in the Bay!, 2009-03-18

Easy access to the Bay, Fairly new docks with more new docks and new pumpout and fuel facilities coming (2009), and a wonderful park that allows you to see all three major Bay Bridges. Walking distance from here and you can have internationl cuisine, grocery and shopping. Also, not more than a few miles away are access to lumber yards (Ashby Lumber, MacBeath Hardwoods) chandleries (West Marine, Svendson's) and hardware (Bowline). This is a great place to sail the Bay (or work on the boat) then come back and have a bonfire and BBQ as the sun sets over the Golden Gate.
